Goodness motivates good behavior

The comment box below invites readers to comment.

Phil Beaver seeks to collaborate on the ineluctable truth. Ineluctable means:  Not to be assailed, avoided, broken, changed, escaped, mystified, neglected, obfuscated, rationalized, resisted, revoked, or voided. Some people erroneously imagine limiting the ineluctable truth, for example, trying to change it.

"Civic" refers to citizens who collaborate for individual happiness with civic integrity more than for the city, state, nation, or society. Civic citizens neither initiate nor accommodate harm to or from anyone. Civic citizens are reliably responsible to the good rather than the bad in connections and transactions.

Consider writing a personal paraphrase of the preamble, which offers fellow citizens mutual appreciation:  For discussion, I convert the preamble’s predicate phrases to nouns and paraphrase its proposal as follows: The civic faction, We the People of the United States, proffer & practice 6 public pursuits —- integrity, justice, safety, strength, prosperity, and responsibility, “in order to” pursue happiness “to ourselves and our Posterity”. I want to improve my interpretation by listening-to and considering other citizens and their interpretations yet would preserve the original, 1787 text, unless it is amended by the civic-people.

It seems the Supreme Court occasionally refers to it, and no one with status has challenged whether or not the preamble is a legal statement. The fact that it changed this independent country from a confederation of states to a union of states deliberately managed by appreciative fellow citizens convinces me the preamble is legal. Equity in opportunity and outcome is shared by the faction who collaborate for statutory justice, We the People of the United States.

Every citizen has equal opportunity to either trust-in and collaborate-on the goals stated in the preamble or be dissident to the agreement. I think 2/3 of citizens try somewhat to use the preamble but many do not articulate commitment to the goals. However, it seems less than 2/3 understand that “posterity” implies grandchildren to both born Americans and legal immigrants. Congressional freedom of religion, which fellow citizens have no means to constrain, oppresses freedom to develop integrity. This can be remedied by changing the First Amendment from “prohibiting” to “promoting”.

Selected theme from this month

Goodness motivates good behavior

A friend objected to “necessary goodness” without suggesting an alternative, except through the friendship itself. After considering the gift of objection, I changed the title of a 12-month workshop to collaborate on a talk for fellow citizens to, “We Can Pursue Goodness: If Mom and Dad had discovered goodness, their hopes would have taken me to the school.”

“ . . . free speech in a democratic society”, which emphasizes individual rights, free expression, political activism; minority rights, civil liberties, and fairness. America, a constitutional republic, prevents national democracy.

“. . . restore traditional American values rooted in the Christian faith.” Americans fled Europe seeking independence from Christianity’s competitive sects. The 13 English colonies avoided John Locke’s “life, liberty, and property” for happiness, where no man may own another.

Allies France, Spain, and Holland opposed England controlling the Mississippi River. The colonies won recognition as 13 independent states in the 1783 Treaty of Paris. Shays’ rebellion convinced civic citizens to form a nation. Citizens of 9 states ratified national intentions in 1788. Representatives legislated intended amendments. Citizens of 10 states ratified the Constitution for the United States of America on December 15, 1791.

The civic faction, We the People of the United States, specified a Constitutional republic that prevents the requirement of religious oaths. The highest office is civic citizen, defined by the intentions stated in the preamble and commitment to amend the Constitution to pursue statutory justice “to ourselves and our Posterity”. "Posterity” includes legal immigrants with civic integrity. Passives, dissidents, rebels, criminals, the wicked, and evils are aliens to We the People of the United States.

In a civic culture, which the United States Constitution proffers and intends, the young experience and acquire: resolve, commitment, good behavior, and the mystery of necessary goodness.

Religious algorithms, such as Judeo-Christianity, serve competitive ideologies. Some perhaps accommodate civic integrity, if and only if the student diligently pursues ineluctable evidence to necessary goodness. For example, Yeshua the Nazarene person seemed to advocate goodness.

Humankind has thousands of competitive religions and ideologies, some animalistic and even evil.

Perhaps Homo sapiens is better served by discovering the laws of physics and progeny, such as psychology, choosing applications to necessary goodness. I think Yeshua's political influence helped me perceive necessary goodness.

Also:

Algorithms rob children of attention, identity, community, and companionship.

The 1774 Congress’s 1776 Declaration of Independence from England has become a national algorithm to the establishment. Quoting, “all men are created equal, . . . endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. It is a Judeo-Christian algorithm, “for which no one wants to be accountable”.

A civic culture, which the United States Constitution, ratified on December 15, 1791, proffers and intends, the young to experience resolve, commitment, comprehension, and the mystery of necessary goodness, “to ourselves and our Posterity”. The 250th anniversary comes in 2041.

As we celebrate the independence won from England, let us not miss-one-day of appreciation to the United States of America; its intentions to develop statutory justice; and our obligations to the children.

quora.com/Do-Jewish-people-know-that-Isaiah-53-accurately-prophecies-Jesus-as-the-Messiah, Daniel Feinsten Jun 30 2025, Phil Beaver comment

Not only that, it seems Miryam and Yosef, Nazarene Aramaic speakers, named their son Yeshua. He was precocious and applied himself to experience and observation, in order to improve discovery of necessary goodness that inspires justice.

A faction of ancient CNN, MSNBC, and ABC scribes observed Yeshua’s personal and crowd influence to the good and sought to capture the charisma for personal gain. They variously projected Yeshua’s persona onto various stories/persons and prophecies in the Jewish literature. For example, Elijah healed a man on his death bed, so Yeshua revived a 3-day old corpse. A future anointed one, to be king and priest to Israel, became blood sacrifice for everyone chosen to believe the redemption promise.

Through Greek and Latin translations, then transliteration, “Yeshua” morphed to “Jesus” only 500 years ago. While “Jesus” is the reported miracle worker, “Christ” is the blood sacrifice for those who believe. To John, “the one Yeshua loved”, Yeshua is YHWH come to earth to develop then sacrifice blood; Yeshua is God.

But not in Judaism. It seems Messianic Jews are Christians and to mainstream Jews of the various sects, Yeshua is not a feature of discussion. Perhaps ancient debate has been suppressed.

Socrates, 2500 years ago, presented the Euthyphro dilemma: Should Athenians forget the god, in order to pursue goodness? I think the answer is: accept the god without imposition, in order to discover necessary goodness that motivates good behavior.

Erroneous, democratic society emphasizes individual rights, freedom of expression, political activism; minority rights, civil liberties, and fair politics. A civic faction, We the People of the United States, pursues constitutional republicanism; in particular, the rule of statutory justice “to ourselves and our Posterity”. Posterity includes legal immigrants with civic integrity.
#USpreambler, #acivicpeople

To commenter:

For example, theists call non-believers "atheists", with immunity. It's so prevalent that "atheists" don't often object. That theists are "minorities" is evidenced by the fact that there are over 4 thousand Gods and 45 thousand Christian sects. My guess is that 1/3 of the world's Homo sapiens are non-believers, making them the majority.

On the other hand, secular humanists merely "tolerate" believers, expecting them to eventually perceive enlightenment. Both sides may and can accept that something constrains the consequences of choice, in order to pursue humility to that actual-reality.

The civic faction of We the People of the United States pursues statutory justice, through both the intentions stated in the preamble plus the Constitution's amendability. Statutory justice may be that "something that constrains", mentioned above.

I hope my response expressed appreciation for your comment, Christine. If not, thank you.

https://heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/p/october-1-2025, Oct 2

“[Republicans] want Democratic votes for [the CR]”, should read “Democrats to vote”, for grammatical fidelity alone but also to avoid chagrin over capitalization tricks.

However, the authors press their “democratic society” word game, vying for alien-inclusive individual rights, freedom of expression, political activism; minority rights, civil liberties, and fairness -- instead of Constitutional rule that pursues statutory justice. In statutory justice, when injustice is discovered, the Constitution is upheld while remedy is considered and legislated.

The civic faction, “We the People of the United States”, authorized for negotiation in 1788 and ratified in 1791, maintains a constitutional republic that spoils national democracy.

Municipalities and states can specify purely democratic elections; one vote can elect a representative. But federal elections are managed so as to represent the people in their states. To defend the people in their states, presidential elections may be decided by competition between the popular vote and the dominant, states’ Electoral College. Similarly. Congress is complicated by the people in their states electing 2 Senators per state and the Vice President for 101 in the Senate -- and in the House, 435 Representatives of 330 million citizens plus another 15 million inhabitants. Legislation requires approval of both the Senate and the House of Representatives and can be vetoed by the President. The Supreme Court monitors constitutionality of legislation and administration.

Aliens have no authority to vote. If citizens are split 50-50 in popular vote, political strategy must focus on the Constitutional provisions for representation, e.g., the Electoral College. With 165 million citizens on each side, unconstitutionally including the 15 million non-citizens could give one side a 180:165 or 9 % advantage. The disenfranchised citizens can offset the illegal voting by increasing their participation: registration and turnout. For example, in the 2024 election, there were 155 million votes and 174 million registered voters among 265 million 18 years old and above.

The “Democratic vote” seeks illegal advantage and grammar tricks against citizens who defend the United States’ constitutional republic – republican voters.

Preamble-scholar regarding the amendable United States Constitution, Phil Beaver, notes that the civic faction of We the People of the United States pursue reliability in “counting the votes, human rights, freedom of speech, and the rule of law”. . . quoting the Constitution, “to ourselves and our Posterity”. “Posterity” is capitalized, in order to express both native children and legal immigrants.

Illegal immigrants are un-civic as well as uncivil.

Leftists love Obama's "Audacity of Hope" and cannot grasp Trump's audacity of trust and commitment to necessary goodness.

What I perceive I heard yesterday is Trump's conviction that when he frankly cites failure, to civic human beings, their desire for good behavior will inspire them to collaborate to reform badness and eliminate evil.

A prime example is Trump's change of direction on Putin. The private meetings Trump held at the UN convinced him that Ukraine recovering territories lost in the recent war is doable. Trump trusts that a civic Putin, considering failure at the might of NATO, will reform.

And this article could tolerate -- suffer/brook -- a little reliability, for example, by pointing out that Trump continues to close doors for America's invasion, which had been invited by the Biden administration and the UN. Other nations could favor their citizens by collaborating with Homo sapiens to pursue necessary goodness to the earth and its extensions.

"Americans are beginning to realign as “We the People” against a wannabe authoritarian." I don't agree. A civic faction of "We the People" accept and pursue the intentions recorded in the preamble to the United States Constitution.

". . . protected by the laws and norms of democracy . . ." I disagree. A civic people is protected by the rule of statutory justice, which is pursued by the United States republic under its Constitution. In statutory justice, the person who intentionally kills another is discovered, indicted, accused, tried, and executed by the judicial system.

"A human being with a soul, a free man, has a right to say what he believes, not to hurt other people, but to express his views." Every person has a right to pursue soul: but none may or can impose soul on my person. It is my person, rather than a mysterious "soul" that is heard when I speak.

". . . tried to conduct oversight . . ." Under statutory justice, only the police may use force in domestic disputes and only the military may use force in alien disputes.

And "God's kingdom" is the earth, where civic adults accept the authority, power, and responsibility to do all they can to aid infants and youth in their natural quest to good behavior, accept the work to constrain chaos in personal ways of living, and collaborate to pursue necessary goodness.

This kingdom is accommodated by both the primitive Sumerian perception that was expressed by Semitic-speaking scribes in ancient literature -- Genesis 1:26-28 -- for all humankind and "to ourselves and our Posterity" in the preamble-to and amendability-of the United States Constitution.

Necessary goodness motivates good behavior.

I see it differently. Broadcasters have to maintain financial viability, and if the public is not listening, advertisers have no potential for increasing sales and therefore choose to withdraw their commitment to pay the broadcasters. Government has no say in the decision.

Sept 20 Luc, I heard and read from JK, "We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it."

I am of the civic faction of We the People of the United States, as defined in 1) the preamble to the United States Constitution and by 2) the Constitution's provisions for amendment. I have no idea what's in Kimmel's mind, but perceive I am the target of his "MAGA gang" label. I could not care less than I do about JK.

I am glad that I am among the 14 million voters who helped Trump win the 2016 republican nomination -- glad, because the consequences I observe seem excellent compared to performances of the other options: Biden, Harris, Obama, or on the republican side Cruz, Rubio, Kasich, any of the Republican governors.

I have no desire to persuade anyone to change their mind. However, I like people and like to communicate my thoughts for any consideration others might undertake.

I write opinion, only because I do not know the ineluctable truth. "Ineluctable" means, to an American (Merriam-Webster): together, not to be avoided, changed, or resisted.

I think Charlie Kirk had wonderful intentions but in his youth had not considered humility to whatever constrains the consequences of human choices. Also, he did not accept that every infant Homo sapiens wants to discover and practice good behavior. However, so far, Homo sapiens have not accepted that ultimate satisfaction or happiness is pursued by discovering the mystery of necessary goodness and immediately putting the discovery into practice. Being in that practice promises joy which I experience each time I walk in the park and start or resume a conversation, especially if I can steer it to my topic.

Three of us in Baton Rouge committed to develop a talk for presentation here. We want all the help we can get. Our plan is published on my blog, and it may be accessed using the search string "Discovering necessary goodness+beaver+blog". Click on “A Civic People”. There's an “active advisors” page (by advisor’s permission) at the end of the post.

We are meeting tomorrow to finalize our flyer, and the first presentation is scheduled at Goodwood Library, October 19, 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, Room 2A. Please consider advising us.

Sept 22 I read about life in China in the Epoch Times. But reading is not living there.
I live in America and promote the civic faction of We the People of the United States. The civic faction may and can do all it can to 1) encourage passives and divines to participate, 2) motivate dissidents and rebels to reconsider, 3) constrain criminals and facilitate their reform, 4) discourage and control wickedness, and 5) annihilate the wicked, such as those who microwave babies.
I think the Biden administration was wicked and that their party will be out of favor for seven decades.
Popular opinion does not accept Yeshua's formula for conflict resolution, given in Matthew 18:15-17, CJB. It starts with telling your fellow citizen they offended you and listening to their response; (they may convince you otherwise, for example, that you were the offender, in which case you have the chance to make amends). In the third step, one of you might eliminate the other. Matthew 18:18 informs that whatever the outcome, the G-d will not correct the fellow citizens.
Churches neglect Yeshua's formula by egocentrically forgiving, when there's been no apology. I am working to reform my institutional church to discover necessary goodness and commit to good behavior.
If America reforms, in order to pursue necessary goodness, China and other nations will follow the United States' leadership.

Sep 23 Luc Van Muylem Whereas I work to discover and practice necessary goodness, the Biden admin worked to persuade people that most are victims and need Biden to give them money.
The Democrat Party's purpose is to convince you, Luc, that vinyard management is a privilege that positions you to increase the Party's wealth -- to tax you, take a big cut, and give a little to the "victims". The NYT wants you to believe the Democrat Party. I quit reading the NYT.
Instead, the Trump administration wants you to benefit from your hard work, preparation for retirement, and excellent management.

https://www.facebook.com/jason.winters.272575, Sept 16

Jason, your speech is wonderful and heartfelt. I write to expand on the will to risk public reactions, based on what I learned last Sunday at church.
As you know, I pursue goodness, share opinion then LISTEN, and, perhaps thereby, have reached 82 years of age.
I think every newborn Homo sapiens has the tendency to good behavior. Adults may and can appreciate other human beings as they are and where they are in their pursuit of necessary goodness, which is often a mystery. Civic adults do all they can to aid every child in their quest to goodness.
Last Sunday, the Sunday-school class I attend studied the passage, Love for Enemies, Matthew 5:44-48, NIV: “. . . love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you . . . your Father in heaven . . . causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous . . . Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

First, this ancient passage reflects the primitive, Genesis 1:26-28 political philosophy that Homo sapiens, in the image of God, pursue goodness on earth. Second, it requires judgement of enemies and persecutors. Third, it demands appreciation to evil people on par with the good people. That's a shock to me.

The question is: how does a civic citizen in the 2025 generation appreciate every fellow citizen? Civic citizens practice necessary goodness and aid civility, impacting,

1. Passives and divines, who may learn to accept civic responsivity,

2. Dissidents and rebels to the law, who may choose to reform,

3. Criminals, who harmed others or their property and may be constrained along with

4. The wicked, who perversely abuse others, e.g., sex trafficking, and

5. The evil, who perpetrate atrocities, such as microwaving babies, civilly inviting annihilation.

Thus, the civic citizen facilitates and accommodates errant fellow citizens’ either voluntary reform or civil constraint plus relief from evils through execution.

I think it is un-civic and uncivil to deny authority, power, and responsibility by claiming faith in scripture or power higher than a civic people. Referencing Jesus without the accuracy, precision, and depth of Jesus's goodness seems erroneous.

As we mimic Charlie Kirk, I think we should keep in mind that spouses do all they can to aid their children, grandchildren, and subsequence descendent. Not knowing the ineluctable truth, I cannot say that my religion could and would aid my family more than my live support on earth.

I hope this helps Baton Rouge.

I look forward to our next conversation; the past has always been great.

Phil

Timothy Foster I did not understand your message. I pursue necessary goodness and often choose to wait for its ineluctable evidence.

https://www.facebook.com/rvinci1, Sept 15

I could not care less about Emery University surviving hearsay.

https://www.facebook.com/leomargaret.stanley, Sept 15

I know neither Jesse Callender nor Ben Stein.
However, I have attend churches for some 60 years including 5 Unitarian, Church for some 15 years, and neither synagogue nor mosque. I doubt a Jew would write God rather than G-d or Hashem. I recently learned from a rabbi that Yeshua is not a feature of Jewish debate, and that gives me insight regarding Jewish attitude toward Jesus: not a feature.
During my times with Unitarians, I learned that only theists would presume to label non-theists "atheists". I do not accept that label.
When someone tells me, "Phil, since you do not profess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are going to hell", I respond, "I pray that you will reform and pursue the humility to accept whatever constrains actual-reality. The ineluctable truth does not respond to belief."
I freely think sharing humility from which you cannot emerge is a civic duty.
Dating from the Council at Jerusalem in 50 CE (Acts 15), Judeo-Christianity has had about 1975 years to discover and pursue necessary goodness within Homo sapiens. Goodness motivates and inspires good behavior regardless of religion.
Civic adults are first Homo sapiens, and they do all they can to aid children in their natural tendency to good behavior. Believers may and can choose to be civic.

https://www.facebook.com/margo.frey , Sept 14

The First Amendment is not as just and defensible as it’s held to be, and we, the civic faction of We the People of the United States may and can empower representatives who will amend it. Civic people do all they can to aid the children. Quoting, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

The civic faction of the United States intends justice as necessary goodness “to ourselves and our Posterity”, and provides civil means for the people to amend unjust laws.

I propose we amend the First Amendment to, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or [promoting] the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of [civic] speech, or of the [civic] press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of [injustice]."

Some people disparage Donald Trump as favoring the right and disparaging the left; republicans over democrats. However, the DNC has not represented civic democrats for the past 7 decades.
I think Trump is like the rest of us humans. As an infant, Trump wanted to pursue good behavior. However, misguided educators in most departments exposed him to error and danger. Like us, he had to choose and sometimes erred. Happily, I am 82 and still surviving, perhaps because my exposures were not as extreme as Trump’s talents could handle.
As Trump experienced and observed the consequences of human choices, he learned to firmly remember and not repeat mistakes, whether direct or observed. I like the stories his dad told, like how to choose a clean restaurant.
Exceptional life provided Trump experiences most of us cannot imagine. However, he has not had every experience: not been a pope, a supreme-court justice, a senator, a state governor, or a Baptist, or of other Mesopotamian descendant including Jew and Muslim. The President is only as just as his cabinet and their administration of the legislature and judiciary. The three branches are conflicted and impeded by the press.
Fortunately, we are fellow citizens in the world’s greatest constitutional republic. It is up to the civic faction to maintain representatives who prevent democracy from ruining the United States’ pursuit of statutory justice.
As we prepare for the 250th anniversary of the founding, it would be good for civic citizens to review that inhabitants fled Europe to escape religious persecution and Protestant kings’ vs Catholic kings’ and vs Muslims. The Eastern seaboard colonies organized to declare independence from England, contingent on aid from France and Spain, who did not want England to control the Mississippi River. The Declaration of Independence declares that war.
Independence was won by 13 colonies in 1781 and ratified by 13 free and independent states in 1784. Shays rebellion, in 1786-7 showed a nation was needed. It was intentionally formed as a constitutional republic, so as to prevent a democracy, and its negotiated Constitution was ratified in December, 1791, with then 14 states.
It is good to celebrate the 13 states independence from England and the rest of Europe in 2026. However, the nation’s birthday does not occur until 2041.
I hope my thoughts help establish good behavior.

An earlier thread:

About 10 years ago, I told Cynthia I was 1) no longer able and 2) less interested in maintaining our family home, which we happily built in 1986 (after 8 years' struggle over interest rates and a temporary-home move with mortgage, because no available rental property could accommodate Ma plus our 3 children in their school district).

I asked if we could sell it. She correctly said, "It is not time." We did not imagine how fast PSP would take Cynthia.

Now that she Cynthia is gone, I want to leave it to our daughters, and am trying to teach them the means and costs of maintenance.

However, I wish it was a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house of about 1200 square feet on 1/4 acre or less, instead of 3150 sq ft with 2-car-and-workshop breezeway-attached garage with deck, home generator, and 12 gpm water filters and IR zapper on 1.7 acres with many yards of border grass defining many flower beds.

Our daughters are advancing toward 60 yo and don't need dedication to the house and property they love -- the family-built home.

Yet I think they are up to the challenges I wish they did not face. Cynthia's daughters -- our daughters -- amaze me.

A recent article on white Christians splitting in the 1840s, I think sheds dejavu-light on division over Democrat-Party-favor toward Medicare to illegal immigrants. (Each side persisted unto a devastating white-on-white war.)
Supporting illegal immigration seems a modern form of institutional slavery; slave owners have to provide affordable care to their "property". Owners felt their slaves were essential to economic viability.
See https://www.patheos.com/blogs/thereligioushistorynerd/2023/01/when-u-s-christian-denominations-split-over-slavery/.

Sept 24 I think civic citizens may and can be wary of the Judeo-Christian fervor recently exemplified in Oklahoma: https://www.newsweek.com/charlie-kirk-turning-point-oklahoma-every-high-school-10478169.

The polytheism practiced 5500 years ago in Sumer civilization was promising, because as human research progresses, unknowns are resolved. For example, the many sun gods that were imagined are negated by the discovery that suns are natural nuclear reactors. There was the potential that god ideas would, in human humility, lessen to one or none. It seems sufficiently humble to accept that something constrains the consequences of choice to act, without characterizing the power.

However, the innovation to competitive monotheism, about 4000 years ago, was powered by Homo sapiens imagination, essentially unlimited. Consequently humankind now boasts more than 4000 doctrinal Gods.

Judeo-Christianity is especially diverse, because each doctrine boasts many believers. Each of the major features is divided by beliefs. For examples, God, Messiah, Yeshua, Jesus, Christ, Jesus Christ, and Church each has bountiful sectarian followers, with the consequence that there are 45,000 Judeo-Christian sects.
Sectarian pretenses are grounded in ancient opinion about primitive hearsay. For example, Paul, claiming he was an apostle, reported on the execution of Yeshua, a person whose life was projected onto ancient Jewish prophecy of a future, anointed king and priest to an obedient people.

A civic people, the faction of We the People of the United States, defined by the preamble to the United States Constitution, intends to pursue statutory justice, the ultimate consequence of legislating reform each time injustice is discovered. Imposing religion onto children is unjust.

Clarity to Oklahoma could come by Congressional amendment of the First Amendment's religion clauses to "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or [promoting] the free exercise thereof . . ."

I'm not convinced a citizen has standing in 2025 rule of law.

Sept 14

This morning, the Sunday-school class I attend opened my mind to yet another shock about necessary goodness: civic citizens must love civil offenders. But how, in 2025? Here’s the passage we discussed:

Love for Enemies, Matthew 5:44-48, NIV: “. . . love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you . . . your Father in heaven . . . causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous . .

The question is: how does a civic citizen in the 2025 generation appreciate an enemy? Civic citizens practice necessary goodness and influence civility, impacting,

Thus, the civic citizen aids errant fellow citizens’ reform or constraint plus relief from evil through execution.

I think it is un-civic and uncivil to deny authority, power, and responsibility by claiming faith in scripture or power higher than a civic people.

PRB again

God informed us in Genesis 1:26-28, 31, that we are in charge of order on earth. God does not accommodate our avoidance, resistance, or negligence to necessary goodness.

I own, clean, and secure guns, because I want to hunt -- and did hunt, in mid-life.
I also want to protect my family if someone attempts to invade our home.
I taught our daughters how and to use the guns, in case I am in bed due to one of the many problems that age 82 has rendered to me.
I think our daughters would be more reliable than me in deciding to use the guns for protection.

https://www.facebook.com/bo.breland/posts/10239078923055864, Sept 14

Bo, I often tell you how much I appreciate your leadership and thank you today.
When I returned to church in October 2021, I told Andy Hale and Nomads I am a non-Baptist, non-Christian student of three ideas: the metaphysical Jesus, the ineluctable truth, and the late discovery that Genesis 1:26-28, 31 informs us that we are -- humankind is -- in charge of goodness on earth. A person may and can constrain chaos in their choices to act.
Quickly, Ron Perritt shared his concern about Christian Nationalism (CN), and I commented to improve a letter of objection to CN. I have written for years that we are first human and therefore may choose to be gods facing death (Psalm 82).
In 2023, Nomads Sunday-school, through Yale Divinity videos, made me aware of Yeshua. My curiosity added the Complete Jewish Bible (1998) and on to the understanding that Messianic Jews are Christians and Yeshua is not a feature of Jewish literature. Since then, I have annoyed Nomads with Yeshua, an entity that is not Jesus.
But I grew a little more, I think. A friend at Perkins Road Park helped me realize I construct Yeshua by looking for goodness in the Bible and projecting my opinion. I settled on necessary goodness, which is a leading mystery in each generation. Together, we pursue necessary goodness. Yet Yeshua's influence to goodness has, for some 75 years, drawn me to associate with civic Christians.
Civic Christians are believers who pursue good behavior in all choices and actions; they continuously seek improvements in their understanding of necessary goodness.
When my son died, in 1991, I told the funeral home that normal police escort would suffice. Later, I learned they trebled the motorcycles, increasing the cost from $150 to $450. At the funeral, as each person took my hand in condolence, I said, "I apologize to you for letting this happen on my watch."
I imagine a martyr thinking, wherever he may be, "I apologize that my family lessened on my watch".
I think some democrats view it this way, and republicans would do well to consider the concern. As for the Democrat Party, I am like President Trump. I don't even care about their future and certainly don't want to compromise their hate.
I hope this aids 2025 pursuit of good behavior.

Necessary goodness, often a mystery

Too often, a writer’s premise is so false a plethora of characterization blinds the writer to the obvious. In this case, the reader is asked to accept that society may dictate spirituality, sacredness, and soul, human constructs hoping to explain mystery.

[Once] we accept dying as a managerial decision rather than a spiritual reality, we’re no longer just optimizing a framework—we’re reprogramming the moral code of civilization itself.

Civilizations don’t survive long when they forget what matters most—and when they do, the harvest always comes. First for the body, then for the soul.

When the sacred is subordinated to the schedule, it’s not only bodies that are harvested.

Stylman imposed too many omissions before presenting his monumental assumption: the laws of physics accommodate souls. In reality, humankind is responsible for order on earth and has no clue as to soul existence let alone sacredness.

There’s no way I want to decide whether a struggling body should stop functioning or not. However, it is required for me to act for no harm, I will render my opinion.

"Beyond the immediate outcome, how do you weigh the long-term impact on personal integrity or institutional trust when considering if the end justifies the means?"

Humankind’s purpose is to pursue necessary goodness to life and to the earth. That is, to keep track of consequences of choices, in order to both avoid and resist error: repeating harm. The object is to individually and collaboratively practice good behavior. Not every person chooses good behavior.

These principles are expressed in the laws of physics and its progeny, psychology. They are primitively expressed in Genesis 1:26-28, 31 and improved by the civic faction of We the People of the Unites States, in the amended Constitution and its preamble “to ourselves and our Posterity”. “Posterity” includes legal immigrants.

Many nations pursue these principles in appreciation to their children. However, so far, competitive churches hold adults exempt from responsibility to the children of the world. Competitive churches promote mystery rather than goodness; their theology rather than physics; their God rather than the god; what could be rather than the ineluctable truth.

Kirk did not discover the ineluctable truth, which corrects rationalization, speculation, and tradition. ("Ineluctable": see the combination in Merriam-Webster, then think of a wrestling hold from which the opponent cannot emerge.) I write opinion, only because I do not know the ineluctable truth.

From September 10, 2025, I hope the civic faction, "We the People of the United States", pursues necessary goodness, the continually solved mystery that inspires and motivates good behavior "to ourselves and our Posterity". If so, the rest of the world's civic people will contribute.

And explore a civic interpretation of Yeshua's formula for human conflict-resolution, in Matthew 18:15-17, CJB. (Forgiveness is not possible without listening discussion.) Matthew 18:18 reflects Genesis 1:26-28.

Psalm 82 says to me: Phil, you are a god facing death, so fulfill Genesis 1:26-28: you may and can constrain chaos in your actions. I hope each person alive discovers they are a Psalm 82 god. I think you and yours are.

https://www.facebook.com/charlie.schladand, Sept. 13

I'm not certain Charlie Kirk would understand Bernie Sander's stand.
The person who says, to a fellow citizen of the United States, in effect, "Since you say that Jesus Christ is not your Lord and Savior, you are living a ruined personhood [or equal]", does not meet Bernie's standard of free-speech.
Religious passion can be violent, if the civic listener wants to accommodate the religion to fellow citizens. Flannery O'Connor labeled her passion for the Eucharist violent, and Bishop Robert Barron seemed to understand if not agree.
I don't know if Charlie was saying that, but if he was, he deserves and has my prayer for him, wherever he may be, to consider humility toward the God, whatever it may be.
When someone says to a fellow citizen, "You need Jesus Christ", they are citing a mystery: Does salvation of the mysterious soul motivate and inspire good behavior? The ineluctable evidence seems negative.

Sept 11

Charlie, your recognition of the importance of this religion story and sharing is a gift to us.

At age 82, I have discovered that my mentor is necessary goodness, a mystery that drives me to choose good behavior. I am preparing a 12-month workshop, in order to collaborate on the pursuit.

Two years ago, I discovered Yeshua and my Lord. Then, a friend asked, "What does Yeshua mean to you." I answered, "I want to mimic and extend the civic good he reportedly taught, according to the Bible." I realized that Yeshua is only my intellectual construct, based on what I read or hear.

Further, primitive speculation, like the Messiah, instigated projections, like Yeshua's reported life, as the miracle worker, Jesus, bettering hearsay, such as raising Lazarus' 4-day old corps versus Elijah raising a person from the death bed. Still more, Paul speculates that the executed Jesus, arose as Christ, savior of all believers, not exclusively believing Jews; including Gentiles. Together, Messiah, Jesus, and Christ render Yeshua non-existent to both Jews and Christians. Modern believers erroneously equate Yeshua to Jesus.

For 75 years, I was bemused by Church, because it suggests good, without performing goodness.

Mom and Dad wanted me to be a Baptist. They were not happy when I fell in love with a Louisiana French-Catholic school teacher and married the love of my life, I perceived but did not articulate Yeshua's influence in Matthew 19:5, CJB, ". . . a man should leave his father and mother and be united with his wife, and the two are to become one flesh". More importantly, a man should leave his church, in order to support his wife and their children without conflicting religion. Because I did not follow Yeshua's influence, I failed my serenely confident better half.

I wish I could share my story with Gould and learn his opinion. Thank you, Charlie.

https://www.facebook.com/hampton.peele, Sept 5

Hampton, although I am not an advocate for any of the Gods developed in the Bible or elsewhere, I never stopped praying, when I perceive there is nothing I can do to aid goodness. For example, I support civil annihilation of evil and pray for the end of child-abuse through war.

I pray that Rep. Massie be relieved from whatever drives him to such sensationalism. I don't need to imagine he's facing a lawsuit: we'll soon know.

https://www.facebook.com/rvinci1 , Sept. 13

I've been aware, attending churches for 75 of 82 years.
Thanks to my current Baptist Sunday-school class and videos by Yale Divinity School, I discovered Yeshua, then the Complete Jewish Bible, a 1998 publication by Messianic Jews. They seem to be Christians.
A wonderful listener and open-hearted-responder asked me what Yeshua means to me, and I answered, "My Lord". When I got home, I realized Yeshua is my mentor, who teaches me necessary goodness. In each generation, goodness is often a mystery.
In necessary goodness, civic citizens live better than civility or rules or laws, in order to preserve each other's opportunity to pursue good behavior.
Every newborn human desires goodness. Civic adults do all they can to aid children to comprehend, intend, and practice good behavior.
At my church, thanks to Acts 15, CJB, I realized that most people follow Paul, whom Yeshua did not choose as one of his 12 apostles. A few Protestants and most Catholics follow Peter, the rock who was never reliably represented the 11 chosen apostles who did not betray Yeshua. Some follow John, who equated Yeshua with the Biblical God. Some follow Yeshua's brother James (not an apostle), who thought Yeshua was Messiah to all believers rather than to Jews only.
Since I do not know the ineluctable truth, none of these choices by fellow citizens bother me. But religious people may and can choose to be civic citizens.
When a fellow citizen says to me, "Phil since you do not accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are going to hell", I pray they will discover humility to whatever constrains the consequences of choice.
I choose to be civic and hope fellow citizens consider necessary goodness.

Richard, thank you for the chance, on Labor Day, to object to a confused imposition, substantially by a 1690s Englishman, John Locke: freedom and liberty.
249 years ago, the civic faction which established and maintains We the People of the United States declared war for independence from enslavement by Europeans, primarily England, but including 1786 allies Spain, France, and, indirectly, Holland.
Today, the naturally civic American citizen responds, "I don't care what neighbors think or say as long as they don't interfere with my opportunity to choose independent goodness".
Freedom and liberty tremble before necessary goodness.

I wish you occasionally read and commented on my Facebook. Happily, in my 9th decade I discovered Yeshua is the Jewish person about whom a splinter faction of contemporaries wrote. Because Yeshua enthusiasts were a splinter faction, Yeshua is not a feature of Jewish literature. In other words, Christians err to think that Jews consider Yeshua.
Christians are divided, not because Yeshua was controversial, but because people who wrote about him did not understand his pursuit: necessary goodness. In each generation, there are a few people who perceive that Yeshua uniquely understood humankind's purpose:  to pursue and practice necessary goodness. In Matthew 5:48, I think Yeshua said:  Be perfect as suggested in Genesis 1:26-28,31. In 2025, there are so few people who grasp this idea about Yeshua, I find no one to talk to.

Alas, when they were adolescents, I confirmed Competitive Church confusion and lost self-composure. Subsequently, each child filled Phil-gaps on their own.

However, I wish I had maintained loyalty to Cynthia's pure goodness, which she passed on to each of our children.

Mark 11, Complete Jewish Bible (a Christian version that represents Yeshua the person), challenges the reader to choose either communitarian doctrine (Competitive Church) or necessary goodness; rationalization about mystery versus responsibility to life; rebellion versus appreciation. In my ninth decade, I choose necessary goodness and perceive Yeshua has always been my civic mentor. Thank goodness I lived long enough to discover Yeshua’s influence.

Mark 11 invites people in each generation to aid civic integrity – mutual respect among civil citizens. Yeshua’s contemporaries could have chosen war against religious elites rather than civil collaboration to kill an innocent man, Yeshua. Institutional excuses -- Jesus the miracle worker and Christ the savior, appeared decades after execution of Yeshua and developed centuries later.  “Jesus” and “Christ” are only 500 years old.

Modern humankind has no excuse to reject necessary goodness. Delay prevents happiness I hope will lead to joy. Again, I’m just glad I lived long enough to discover Yeshua’s influence to good behavior.

Dear Mr. President:

Re: Necessary goodness

History has delivered two 2025 opportunities, which, if taken simultaneously, can and may transform humankind.

First, it seems obvious that not only national government but religious cultures may and can end the abuse of children in war and in peace. Religions promote mystery-about rather than discovery-of necessary goodness, making good behavior limited if not impossible. Religions may and can teach children that they naturally want to develop good behavior during a complete lifetime.

Second, it seems obvious that civic adults appreciate life and want to do everything they can to aid children but don’t know what to do.

Acting on these two principles, you and the First Lady can change the people's narrative from “my religion is important to me” to: I am humble to humankind so manage my religion so that it pursues necessary goodness on earth. My religious institution pursues and practices good behavior according to civic integrity rather than to promote competitive mystery to children.

I hope this idea helps your administration and We the People of the United States.

Sincerely,

Phil Beaver

Pursuit to achieve necessary goodness

Selected theme from this month

Necessary goodness is often unknown, so may and can be pursued. Its appeal to humankind can be accepted by civilizations, nations, states, cities, churches, families, and citizens. However, good behavior is chosen by the civic citizen – here, the faction We the People of the United States.

I write opinion, because I do not know the ineluctable truth. But necessary goodness is accommodated by both Genesis 1, 5500 year old political philosophy, and the United States Constitution, 234 years ratified.

Genesis 1:26-28, 31, asserts that it is good that humankind has the responsibility to pursue order to life on earth.

In its amenability by the civic faction and its intentions “to ourselves and our Posterity”, stated in the preamble, the United States pursues statutory justice: written law containing no injustices.

Life to each family is challenging. The purpose of church is to support the family in its quest to discover necessary goodness and consequently practice good behavior to each family member. Pursuit of mystery is divisive to the family and its members.

News

https://www.theepochtimes.com/opinion/we-must-renew-patriotic-education-5885600

I object to (customary) distractions from necessary goodness.

To the civic faction, We the People of the United States, patriotic education clarifies the necessary goodness that motivates and inspires responsible behavior “to ourselves and our Posterity”. The civic faction aids and appreciates the rule of law and its enforcement-branches unto statutory justice, which the United States pursues through its Constitution.

History’s events if not reports make it clear that humankind may and can pursue good behavior. Badness happened and need not obscure necessary goodness. The war against England, successful in 1783, need not overshadow the republic the 13 free and independent states intended in 1787 and effected, together with the 14th state, by ratifying the amended United States Constitution on December 15, 1791.

Patriots effect if not know that only civic individuals collaborate for the associations that empower a nation to pursue necessary goodness on earth. The civic faction aids reforming dependency, constraining wickedness and crime, and annihilating evil.

Attention to divine liberty and freedom represses patriotic aid to good behavior. Settlers in English colonies of North America, recognizing that they were being enslaved as masters over African-slaves, declared war against King George and Parliament. Englishman John Locke had written in 1690 that the civic citizen intends “to preserve himself, his liberty and property”. Without royal authority to free African-slave properties, colonial Thomas Jefferson wrote the Locke-mimic “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”. Jefferson resisted calling slaves “property”, when civic and civil independence from the world’s mightiest empire was his purpose.

But Congress called slaves “property” until after the Civil War, when the 13th and 14th amendments reversed the Dred Scott decision. Necessary goodness is its own driver, and patriots aid the pursuit.

Opinion

https://www.theepochtimes.com/opinion/communisms-lingering-grip-on-soul-and-society-generations-of-devastation-5757808

Lorenc wrote that Marx’s communism starts with abolition of personal property then jumped to soul  -- a strawman fallacy. He quoted Solzhenitsyn:

“We have to condemn publicly the very idea that some people have the right to repress others. In keeping silent about evil, in burying it so deep within us that no sign of it appears on the surface, we are implanting it, and it will rise up a thousandfold in the future.”

No one justly imposes soul-concern on another.

Religious institutions impose on innocent children doctrine about universal mystery, like "soul", dividing humankind over what no civilization knows. The consequence is religious adults imposing on children, victimizing them in war.

Aristotle, d. 322 BC, said “Give me a child [through age] seven and I will show you the [person].” It’s beyond surprising that, after 2350 years people still try to enslave society to soul. After everything humankind has discovered, how can churches try to persuade children to spend their opportunity to live, striving for favorable afterdeath – that vast time after mind, body, and person stopped functioning?

Each person may and can pursue necessary goodness and consequential good-behavior until their last breath. Both Genesis 1 and the United States Constitution influence the civic faction to pursue necessary goodness “to ourselves and our Posterity”, as confirmed by whatever constrains the consequences of personal choices -- the god, the laws of physics, or unknown.

Latham's title for the article, together with, "The motivations that lead nations to engage in warfare . . . are deeply rooted in human nature", seem to me to misrepresent or neglect humankind's responsibility: to discover and practice necessary goodness.

Latham's "moral imperatives that guide our actions" may and can be addressed by every education department on earth. Necessary goodness is the guide, and good behavior is the practice. The consequences of human choice offer the record of errors, not to be repeated by anyone; hence the necessity of integrity in reporting and considering happenings.

Necessary goodness requires civic citizens to reform slackers, dissidents, and rebels; constrain criminals; avoid and resist wickedness; and annihilate evil. Among civic citizens, good behavior is its own reward.

To Van Hamlin:

A couple of considerations:

First, the person who reportedly said that we should use his name was Yeshua. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yeshua. Since discovering this, I have read the Complete Jewish Bible for NT and the Orthodox Jewish Bible for OT, to compare with NIV. Yeshua's influence has always guided my life, as I discovered 3 years ago. Yeshua always urges necessary goodness.

Second, John may have been accurate when he opined that Yeshua was present in the beginning. John 8:58, CJB, "Yeshua said to them, “Yes, indeed! Before Avraham came into being, I AM!” https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%208&version=CJB .

If so, Yeshua may be the judge represented in Genesis 1:31, OJB; "And G-d saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was tov me’od (very good)." Since G-d, in Genesis 1:26-28 gave humankind dominion over life on earth, praying for G-d to take charge seems a request for usurpation of assigned duty.

It seems that if there will be a peaceful world, civic citizens will intend to make it happen.

The civic faction, We the People of the United States, accept that discovering and practicing necessary goodness is humankind’s purpose “to ourselves and our Posterity”. Posterity includes legal immigrants.

Civic integrity prevails as good behavior — never repeat an error, whether experienced or observed, for example, in church stories.

Necessary goodness is disclosed by the physical and psychological consequences of human choices.

After 5500 years, empowered with language, writing, grammar, and thought, churches may and can reform from establishing and maintaining doctrine grounded in mystery. By not dividing people over mystery no one knows, churches may and can facilitate attention to humankind rather than war for civil favor among humankind. Thus, churches may and can protect their children from the ravages of war.

I support a church, hoping to influence such reform after 45 years there. I think reform is possible.

Not only that, non-penetrating sodomy between soldiers is encouraged by military rules. Institutional benefits nevertheless damage if not ruin perpetrators’ psychologies.

My dad, whose dad died of cancer when Dad was 12, taught me sex by secrecy regarding Mom submitting to a mysterious god.

One day, home alone and threatened, I searched for the hand gun I knew dad kept and found some strange, homemade toys.

I managed to avoid psychological threats to my life, because as an adolescent I realized that any abuse I subjected myself to would be known by the other party and haunt me. I turned down Judy’s piece and Kay’s blow job.

And then I met my bride — a serenely confident school teacher. During courtship, I perceived she felt she had found her mate. It was up to me to protect us from passionate pregnancy.

I was aware of Yeshua’s influence, in Matthew 19:3–5: “Some P’rushim came and tried to trap [Yeshua] by asking, “Is it permitted for a man to divorce his wife on any ground whatever?” He replied, “Haven’t you read that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female, and that he said, ‘For this reason a man should leave his father and mother and be united with his wife, and the two are to become one flesh’?”

An authentic man takes responsibility to prevent unwanted pregnancy. I think every adolescent, female as well as male, should know this psychology and other political philosophy with physical consequences that Yeshua expressed.

Every education department may and can reform so as to inculcate comprehension and intention to human being (the practice).

I write opinion, because I do not know the ineluctable truth.

Most people think their behavior ought to be good and want to behave. Therefore, they pursue necessary goodness. However, individuals, societies, and nations often face situations wherein they can neither judge necessity nor know that no action is required.

But repeated bad consequences, when humans don’t choose good behavior, make it plain that indolence, badness, and wickedness must be resisted and avoided. And evil must be annihilated.

The evolution of civilization records the mistakes that necessary goodness could have avoided. The Internet makes it possible to discover past human error and avoid repetition.

Wikipedia may be used to explore mistakes the reader suspects. My purpose is to avoid repetition of suspected human error. For example, I appreciate, Yeshua, whose political philosophy to necessary goodness some writers resist using “Jesus” or “Christ”.

So far, religions and governments impose higher powers: mysteries and war, neglecting if not hiding humankind’s obligation to provide order on earth and to human extensions.

To reform the chasm created by religions and government, the civic faction of humankind, the individuals, societies, and nations who oppose indolence, badness, wickedness, and evil may and can require every education department to reform so as to facilitate, encourage, and promote the human desire for good behavior.

Only with intention can a human individual resist or prevent repeating human error.

If boys understood that girls just want to have phunn to relieve resilient responsibility, the world could improve to necessary goodness.
Nations must stop subjecting children to war (Mrs. Trump), and religions must stop indoctrinating children unto divisive doctrine about mystery.

Good morning, Taylor.
What a wonderful adventure you are living!
Your outcrop-photo reminds me of my youth in Knoxville, TN, living near rocks (near the Tennessee River) I climbed, looking for fossils. When I started college, I threw my collection away, knowing I could easily replace each item -- fishbacks, snail, etc.
Yesterday, I met with a rabbi for 2 hours and learned that, to him, Yeshua is not a feature of mainstream Jewish literature.
But the rabbi was fascinated by the concept of necessary goodness. To Jewish mentors, Hillel the Elder(d. 10 CE), his grandson Gamaliel (d. maybe 50), and Maimonides (d. 1204), I added Yeshua (d. 33), researching the dates after the meeting.
The rabbi asked me to spell "Yeshua" then insisted on Jesus as non-feature. However, "Yeshu" is a controversial feature; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_in_the_Talmud.
I doubt we'll meet again, but I am forever changed by the discussion.
Regardless, Yeshua, who I think suggested necessary goodness (e.g., Matthew 5:48), remains my mentor to good behavior.
Please see my latest FB post to understand "mentor".
Please tell Meridith "hello".

I think the civic faction, We the People of the United States, accommodates reform “to ourselves and our Posterity”. “Posterity” includes legal immigrants.

From the beginning of language and grammar, there have been precocious thinkers who imagined necessary goodness. That is, observing the consequences of human choices, thinkers, in their generation’s era of discovery, imagined recording both mistakes to not repeat and goodness to practice.

Scholars happily research the inventors of writing and grammar: primitive Sumerian civilization and competitors, such as the Egyptians, Asians, and others.

Discovers of necessary goodness are celebrated. The Code of Ur-Nammu, 4100 old, celebrates kings who deliver justice, e.g., to care for widows and orphans. Anaxagoras, 2500 years ago, reported that the moon is not a god. Socrates asked if humankind appreciates goodness more than gods. Hillel, 2000 years ago said, “That which is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow,” without the Internet, mimicking Confucius, 500 years earlier. Maimonides (died 1204) said charity is: to aid a person’s quest for independence. Yeshua, executed in 33 CE, said, “Be perfect [like a god]” (Matthew 5:48 and Psalm 82). Ralph Waldo Emerson (Divinity School Address, 1838) appreciated and promoted the message: be perfect.

Alas, Yeshua is not celebrated as a political philosopher. By making Yeshua divine, by waiting for an anointed one, and by seeking retribution, Abrahamic believers, about 3.5 billion of 8 billion people on earth, hold hostage necessary goodness. War seems preferred more than good behavior.

The civic faction, so far, cannot reform badness, constrain criminality, discourage wickedness, and annihilate evil. I think humankind is at the abyss and may reform.

By 350 CE, Vetus Latina was complete and Iesus (pronounced Yehsus) was announced as the fulfillment of the 200 BC Tanakh’s prophesied Messiah. The 500 CE Talmud controversially mentions the Hebrew name “Yeshua”, perhaps referring to the Aramaic “Isho”. But Yeshua is not a feature of modern Judaism.

Through translations and transliteration, 0 CE's Yeshua became “Jesus” in 1557 (Geneva Bible). “Jesus”, a constructed divinity, is only 500 years old, compared to Yeshua, a person who, 2000 years ago, observed and thought about that which constrains the consequences of human choices but did not write.

I do not know the ineluctable truth. Discussion, yesterday, with Rabbi Peretz Kazen, happily provided insights to this opinion.

I hope readers take Yeshua seriously rather than dismiss him as "Jesus", which replaced the Latin "Iesus" only 500 years ago.
Yeshua did not write. Consequently, students can only pursue that real-person’s ideas within the universes of opinions about writers' constructs.
Lately, I am focused on necessary goodness and the pursuit of good behavior, discernable from civic citizens, past and present, including Yeshua the Nazarene of 2000 years ago.
Most scripture strains to match or better the Jewish literature, which may deflect preceding Sumerian physical and psychological achievements, such as invention of writing, grammar, and law codes.
In later literature, whereas Moses struck a rock to produce water, Yeshua turned water into wine. Whereas Elijah raised a person from the death bed, Yeshua resurrected a corpse from 4 days’ death. Even though writers report Yeshua doing miracles or claiming he is the Messiah, his personal conversations and speeches encourage good behavior (e.g., Matthew 5). Often, he re-directs a question to teach good choices (e.g., Matthew 19:3-5). When Pilate asked the accused if he is a king, Yeshua answered, “Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to me” (John 18:37).
I think the primary incentive to pursue Yeshua rather than another entity, such as Jesus, Christ, or other, is to study Yeshua’s influence to necessary goodness, in order to strengthen personal intentions and practice to good behavior rather than bad.
As student of Genesis 1:26-28,31, Yeshua reportedly said, “Be perfect” (Matthew 5:48). This demand implies that the listener CAN be perfect, if he or she has the intention. I prefer to intend perfection rather than accept that I am a sinner to repeat mistakes.
Consider some celebrated constructs about Yeshua, the person, as follows.
James, Yeshua’s brother, wrote (James 1:1) to the 12 tribes in exile, or Jews, that; observing the perfect Torah gives freedom (James 1:25), the executed Yeshua’s return to unite the tribes was near (James 5:8), and that tribe members should help each other avoid erroneous living (James 5:20). It seems James wrote of salvation from erroneous living rather than for favorable afterlife.
Peter, hoping to represent the named apostles, influenced that to perfect Jewish obedience (Matthew 5:17-20) and blood sacrifice (Leviticus 17:11) facilitates salvation also to Gentiles (John 1:1-29). Additionally, Yeshua’s execution was sufficient blood sacrifice for every person who was chosen to believe, past, present, and future (Hebrews 9:25-28).
Paul, a self-proclaimed representative for the Gentiles, wrote that obeying male circumcision was unnecessary, and salvation through Yeshua’s execution was a gift to the afterdeath rather than to obedient living – grace to souls rather than to obedient persons (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). Paul and Peter held in common belief in salvation through Yeshua’s execution.
John, an apostle, wrote that Yeshua was in fact The God (John 1:1,29). The God self-incarnated so as to sacrifice blood.
I did not find Jewish literature that claims Yeshua impacted Israel. The few “Messianic Jews”, perhaps 200 thousand of 15 million Jews, are split between Yeshua anointed for the Jews and Christians -- Jews who by grace believe Yeshua died to redeem their souls; antinomians.
Arabs and some other humans seem to think Yeshua was a prophet.
As we struggle to reform life among humankind, I hope Yeshua’s influence to necessary goodness aids repressing traditional badness and wickedness, through individual and collaborative preferences to good behavior by individuals, societies, and nations.
I write opinion, only because I do not know the ineluctable truth.

Some women are so genuinely good that one man courts her for life. I was lucky enough to court Cynthia for 58 years.

I hope this is meaningful and impactful rather than competitive.

I think focus on necessary goodness may and can motivate and inspire a person to pursue good behavior.

A woman is responsible for the eggs she generates and exposes to insemination. She has responsibility to the consequentially-conceived human being, whether she accepts it or not.

As spouse to a woman of intentional goodness, I think our 3 children demonstrate physical and psychological pursuit of necessary goodness and personal quest to good behavior. Necessary goodness is often unknown.

Fortunately to me, I lived long enough to discover that I choose necessary goodness rather than pursue the god. When my wife died at age 84, I wrote for her eulogy, "She chose necessary goodness and humbly inspires those who don’t comprehend."

When I wooed her, I mistakenly felt that if I changed to her religion I'd be giving up my humanity. My delusion impacted our children. I cannot say they are better for it, but they improve humankind, to their credit.

It's been 2350 years since Aristotle thought, and our generation, perhaps the 123rd, benefits from history's discovery of what constrains the consequences of human choice. The time for indoctrinating children into anything but good behavior in humankind's quest for necessary goodness has long since past.
