Vote to constrain the Democratic Party’s lawlessness

Phil Beaver seeks to collaborate on the-objective-truth, which can only be discovered. The comment box below invites readers to write.

"Civic" refers to citizens who collaborate for individual happiness with civic integrity more than for the city, state, nation, or society.

Consider writing a personal paraphrase of the preamble, which offers fellow citizens mutual appreciation:  For discussion, I convert the preamble’s predicate phrases to nouns and paraphrase it for my interpretation of its proposal as follows We the People of the United States proffer & practice 5 public disciplines —- integrity, justice, safety, strength, and prosperity, “in order to” encourage & facilitate responsible-human-independence “to ourselves and our Posterity”. I want to improve my interpretation by listening to other citizens and their interpretations yet would preserve the original, 1787, text, unless it is amended by the people.

It seems the Supreme Court occasionally refers to it, and no one has challenged whether or not the preamble is a legal statement. The fact that it changed this independent country from a confederation of states to a union of states deliberately managed by disciplined fellow citizens convinces me the preamble is legal. Equity in opportunity and outcome is shared by the people who collaborate for human justice.

Every citizen has equal opportunity to either trust-in and collaborate-on the goals stated in the preamble or be dissident to the agreement. I think 2/3 of citizens try somewhat to use the preamble but many do not articulate commitment to the goals. However, it seems less than 2/3 understand that “posterity” implies grandchildren. “Freedom of religion,” which fellow citizens have no means to discipline, oppresses freedom to develop integrity.

Constraining the Democratic Party’s lawlessness

This week, the New York Congressperson labeled “AOC” displayed potential to think of her personal safety& security, neglected by Congressional police. There’s hope her egocentric thinking will spill over to civic-citizens among We the People of the United States.

Civic-citizens practice, facilitate, and encourage responsible-human-independence (RHI) “to ourselves and our Posterity”, quoting the preamble to the U.S. Constitution. Dependent fellow citizens, such as the religious, the indolent, the criminal, and the tyrant may reform until they terminate their opportunity.

The potential for reform holds sway to a 2024 Trump/AOC ticket. Turns out it’s no stranger than Trump/Pence.

For the first time, I imagine AOC thinking in self-interest rather than power-playing. She could pivot and join Trump to increase American integrity, justice, safety& security, strength, prosperity, and responsibility.

It is, provided we recall that a closed door offers improvement: leaving the Golden Rule, we may pursue something better. For example, we can constrain chaos in private, in order to practice, facilitate& encourage civic-integrity in public.

The various versions of the Golden rule are all egocentric. That is, the rule pays no attention to the happiness the other party prefers.

Happily, we have 5,500 year old political philosophy with this message: female& male-human-being is independently responsible for safety& security to the living species and to the earth.

In other words, since neither the-High-God, whatever that is, nor government, can provide safety& security on earth, civic-fellow-citizens can& may develop statutory-justice. Thereby, civic-tyrants, such as the religious, the indolent, the criminal, and the despot may be constrained.

It’s time to set the Golden Rule aside, in order to develop responsible-human-independence to ourselves and our posterity.

Human-beings are responsible for each safety& security on earth and its impact on the universe.

Responsible humans neither initiate nor accommodate harm to or from any person, association, or institution.

I learned to be intolerant of tolerance. I pursue the-ineluctable-truth and meanwhile earn opinion based on the-objective-truth. I listen to other people in my pursuit of ineluctable evidence. Ineluctable means “not to be avoided, changed, or resisted”.

The moment I perceive another human-being holds the opinion that their opinion is higher than my opinion, I gave them no chance to continue self-promoting. I change the topic to something trivial, like preference for chocolate: white, milk, or dark. Or threatening weather forecast, or latest sports topic, or a media annoyance. Thereby, I indirectly caution that they’re making their opinion uninteresting. I always linger to see if they return to the original topic, and it never happens. Perhaps they are passionate about their higher-ground self-image.

If the topic seems vital to constrain harm, I make a point. For example, I met a pastor who claims 20 years of ecumenical work. I sincerely said, “I am delighted to meet you and would like to talk to you about including in your association the class of people who don’t know that there is a God.” I objected to his hearty laughter. He explained, “You speak in words I am not accustomed to.” I said, “Now that we’re passed that, shall we talk?” He responded, “There are some basics.” I asked, “Does God condone your basics”.

I don’t think I will hear from the pastor, but hope I am wrong. I perceive he is too weak to consider another viewpoint, but that does not make him my enemy. I hope meeting me inspires him to reform or to suggest reform I should consider. No human can convince me that I know how to choose God.

As a responsible human-being, I want to practice, facilitate, and encourage safety& security to all living species and to the earth.

Gary and all who contributed, my mind raced to quality in the first form: in person.

Ranking from the top, there's transparency, precision, accuracy, depth, alacrity, appreciation, motivation, inspiration, and accomplishment.

If there's no transparency, the conversation is unlikely to accomplish more than mutual entertainment. Life's wonderful when people talk with smiles& laughter.

With mutual transparency, the next 4 qualities are variously constrained by the cognitive abilities of the two parties. For example, I frustrate Cynthia if I don't appreciate her concern for safety& security. When skills are high, conversation can go deep very fast.

The next three qualities may be constrained by the perception of happiness each party pursues. For example, when we entertained, I worked to make each guest happy; Cynthia prepared, then let guests be happy. (Our children took her meme.)

When each party works to compliment the other party's appreciation, motivation& inspiration, without losing their own, their accomplishments can be amazing.

Thank you, Gary, for making us think this morning.

One person who has helped us for over 30 years coldly stopped doing so on learning I had voted for Trump 4 times.

That's right! I'm one of the 14 million civic-citizens who made it possible for 61 million to elect him president. I'm on deck for the 5th vote, provided he does not choose a running mate who touts public pride in their religion. We can't stand another betrayal because the person claims to "witness for Christ". No one can speak for Jesus, and it seems Jesus recommended supporting the commander-in-chief for U.S. safety& security, as specified in the U.S. Constitution to the Vice President and on down.

To the people who disdain my vote, transparently or not, I ask. Do you like what you got? Do you like Biden-administration harm& injury? I don't like any part of it.

The world is engulfed by media and Democrat Party lies

I stopped subscribing to the local AP-subscribing newspaper, The Advocate, and my world got brighter. When their agents call with low-cost deals, I say I hope they go out of business. Now, I get the news that is important to me in conversations wherever I go. And I try to go to many public places and talk to anyone who wants to talk.

This is a fantastic world and a wonderful land. Perhaps we should shut down the media altogether. Just don’t subscribe.

I have to admit, I do pay The Epoch Times weekly and think I should open it more. I still read every article in National Affairs quarterly. But I’m busy!

Maybe so.

But I think “intolerance” is a good word and “tolerance” is not.

Consider tolerance in four applications about a stranger: the truth, their opinion, their choice, and human-being. In order to be tolerant, I must assume higher ground. Since I know nothing about the stranger, I can only accept them. Also, since I am a stranger, I cannot influence them.

quora.com/In-your-opinion-what-is-dividing-society-currently? by Lawrence

Q: In your opinion, what is dividing society currently?

A: Most individuals behave in fear of the unknowns that inspire& motivate them. For example, the destitute fear for the next meal, and the ultra-rich fear someone possesses the watch they desire. No one is willing to facilitate& encourage reform to either errant party.

The laws of physics make it plain that each human-being can& may, in self-interest, reject fear and appreciate their opportunity to responsibly develop a happy lifetime. During their first quarter-century, they can& may develop the comprehension& intention to live a complete human lifetime. By complete, I mean both the lifespan their body can sustain and also psychological independence from both external and internal constraints.

To constrain government, they obey the law and pay their taxes. To constrain fear, they appreciate life and everything in it and behave so as to constrain chaos in their way of living. If they are theistic, they accept their-God’s love. If Christian, they accept Jesus’ peace. Regardless, they are civic-citizens, where “civic” means reliable in all human connections& transactions. Civic-integrity empowers responsible-human-independence (RHI) to pursue safety& security on earth. Reliability includes constraining dependent fellow-citizens, in order to encourage their reform. Dependencies include religion, laziness, crime, and tyranny. The human-being duty is to practice, facilitate, and encourage safety& security.

No culture on earth inculcates these principles in their youth. Most parents teach their children as they were taught -- already obsolete tradition. Most government-elites train the workers they think they need. Clergy promote doctrine long-since proven doubtable. Gullible people accommodate the status quo, entreating utopia rather than pursuing RHI.

The Machiavellian elites of the world observe human gullibility and construct cultures to benefit from the fears of the majority in a community or nation. For example, Chapter-XI-Machiavellian-elites partner with the national church. State& church live high on the hog. The people neither emigrate nor rebel, continuously teaching their youth to pray that their-God will eventually save them; in the U.S., “ourselves and our Posterity”, quoting the preamble, accommodate tyranny rather than develop RHI. The culture “keeps the faith”, unintentionally gifting their lives’ works to the elites.

The Internet has made it possible for many people to ignore propaganda and lies, in order to discern the past and forge an attainable better future. For example, one 24-hour study of the first well-recorded civilization, Sumer, suggests that year-2022 improvement of their 4,000-year-old political philosophy could produce RHI-culture.

Between 10,000 years ago and 4,000 years ago, the Sumerians invented writing, 60-based mathematics such as 360 degree circle and 60 second minute, astronomy records, accounting, law, and many other wonders for that era. An improvement on their collaborative hierarchy is: worker, artisan& guardian, entrepreneur, and administrator, in increasing responsibility& remuneration, all to pursue necessity& justice. Capitalism seems essential, and equitable distribution of both domestic production and windfall revenue can& may be specified& administered.

The dominance of religion in most people’s lives makes focus on beneficial political philosophy almost impossible, and the Internet has made the civic-division religion causes plain to many people. However, most of them are too busy living to escape the tyranny their cultures have accommodated for millennia. The perception of futility in religion leaves many people with no hope for a future.

There is a bright achievement in history since Sumer, and that is the amendable 1787 U.S. Constitution. Its preamble proposes development of RHI and assigns religion to the privacy of the individual mind& heart. The preamble’s intentions-sentence expresses this:  We civic-citizens pursue five public disciplines – integrity, justice, safety, strength, and prosperity, “in order to” practice, facilitate, and encourage RHI “to ourselves and our Posterity”. Posterity includes legal immigrants. There are no standards, so posterity is bound to reliability more than tradition.

In summary, I think human-kind is currently divided by internal confrontation with gullibility. Most people perceive that neither their-God nor their-governments can provide safety& security on earth. Articulating the cause of the divide does not come easy, so its expression in 2022 is divergent chaos. However, 2022 may be the year that reform of a 5,000 year-old political philosophy, already improved by a 235 year-old-constitution, marks widespread attention to an achievable better future.

quora.com/Whats-the-most-serious-social-problem-in-the-world? by Charles Raisor or Raj Nathan

No culture on earth practices, facilitates, and encourages responsible-human-independence (RHI).

RHI requires civic-integrity to ourselves and our posterity. “Civic” expresses reliable human-connections& transactions more than civilization or rule observance.

The newborn human-being does not possess RHI and transitions during their first quarter century to either young adult with comprehension and intention to develop RHI or with satisfaction to remain dependent. Dependencies include religion, indolence, crime, and tyranny.

Dependency invites constraint, and civic-citizens fund the systems of constraint.

RHI is not a new concept. It’s rudimentary political philosophy was practiced by the sequence of kings in the Sumer civilization that existed from 11,000 years ago to about 4,000 years ago, when Babylonians moved in.

The Sumer hierarchy I express as, workers, artisans, entrepreneurs, and administrators seems constrained by necessity& justice. Equity in both GDP distribution and windfall-fortune sharing could improve capitalism. The consequence would be more focus on the self-interest of RHI.

Selected theme from this week

Constitutionally constraining the press

Many writers for the media do all they can to create the myth that the U.S. is a democracy rather than a constitutional republic. The consequence is many innocent citizens objecting to gradually developing justice as evolution unfolds.

It matters not what the media-writer’s intentions may be. The fact that their writing subverts the U.S. dedication to its republican intentions is provable and egregious.

What’s missing is statutory law and enforcement. For example, the writer could be subject to jail time and the publisher held to hefty fines. The time to end unconstrained freedom of the press is now.

News

We the People of the United States bemused by congressional freedom of religion (msn.com/en-us/news/politics/mitt-romney-s-takedown-of-donald-trump-isn-t-getting-the-reaction-he-was-hoping-for/ar-AAZeAk1?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=da821034631b45e5be7894c4b53a0c43)

Mormonism in U.S. politics is suspect if not guilty. It seems voters are beginning to recognize that freedom of religion according to the First Amendment is for Congress, at the people’s expense.

For example, the Mormon male trusts that he is a saint and his wives therefore have a direct path to heaven. Voters should never elect a self-deemed saint into political power, because what a saint trusts may not be constitutional. That is, saints cannot resist trusting that they are above the law.

And the person who boasts they have Jesus in their heart (claiming Jesus’ authority to judge) may not have recognized Jesus’ affirmation of Genesis 1:28. Ancient political philosophy, expressed before Abraham was born, effectively accepts both mysterious “love” by God and “peace” by Jesus, and assigns safety& security on earth solely to human being. The people can& may elect leaders who comprehend and pursue comprehensive safety& security: responsible-human-independence (RHI).

The 1787 U.S. intentions are abstractly stated in the preamble to the Constitution. Civic-citizens develop five domestic disciplines – integrity, justice, safety, strength, and prosperity, “in order to” practice, facilitate, and encourage RHI “to ourselves and our Posterity”. Religious discipline is assigned to adult privacy.

I think President Trump administered constitutionally despite each an unconstitutional Congress, legislating Supreme Court, and Christian vice-president. The articles specify how the people may amend the constitution and guarantee a republican form of government; specifically to pursue the rule of law rather than democracy.

In 1791, Congress assigned to itself freedom of religion at the expense of the people. After 231 years’ congressional tyranny, the civic-citizens can& may amend the religion clauses in the First Amendment to: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or [promoting] the free exercise thereof.

Civic-citizens embrace their religious hopes, for example, accepting both God’s love and Jesus’s peace. But they practice, facilitate, and encourage RHI in their way of pursuing the happiness they perceive, without submitting to someone else’s vision for them.

In a responsible culture, civic-citizens can& may exercise the opportunity to practice, facilitate, and encourage responsible-human-independence (RHI).

The responsible civic-citizen earns enough to pay for lifestyle preferences as well as to both enforce the rule-of-law and to develop statutory justice.

Human-being is responsible for safety& security on earth. Dependent fellow-citizens risk constraint due to religion, indolence, crime, or tyranny. The laws of physics constrain the consequences of human choice.

quora.com/unanswered/What-are-some-examples-of-civic-issues? by Ishan Ignatius

Civic issues are of more self-interest than civil issues, which are often erroneous. For example, many citizens think they want social democracy rather than the U.S. constitutional republic. The rule of law "to ourselves and our Posterity” is a continuing pursuit.

First, in a civic culture, persons divide on responsible-human-independence (RHI) versus dependency. The dependencies include religion, indolence, crime, and tyranny. The fellow-citizen who does not accept the self-interest of RHI is either stubborn or arrogant and invites subjugation by civic-citizens. Civic-citizens hope subjugation inspires reform to necessary justice.

The civic-citizen neither initiates nor accommodates harm to or from any person or association. Consequently, the civic-citizen earns enough income to sustain both their responsible pursuit of happiness and fund civil constraints under statutory justice.

Civic issues address reliability in human connections and transactions, while civil issues address necessary justice in public affairs.

I think the demand, neither initiate nor accommodate harm, can be used to develop personal interest in RHI.

quora.com/What-are-some-examples-of-non-civic-issues? by Roblox Gamer

The civic-citizen neither initiates nor accommodates harm to or from any person or institution. Not every person accepts civic responsibility, and therefore fellow citizens must develop and maintain statutory justice; that is, responsible rule of law and its enforcement. Too often, laws are based on civil precedent rather than civic necessity.

Choices that may impact the market but otherwise do not limit responsible fellow-citizen’s lives are non-civic. Some civic choices are made civil by law. For example, freedom of religion-or-none is civically inalienable but, in the U.S., civilly imposed. And the religious imposition is to Congress at the expense of the people.

Citizens may choose a chocolate -- white, dark, or milk – without civic imposition. However, civil restraint that requires producers to make only white chocolate is un-civic.

Physics and its progeny, genes and memes, determine gender. To promote the imagination and trust that a person can benefit from dedicating their life to personal-gender-change is un-civic.

It takes a quarter-century for the child to develop the comprehension and intention to develop their unique person. The heterosexual child needs to experience a heterosexual family. To embark on same-sex rearing of heterosexual children is non-civic and perhaps non-civil according to statutory justice.

Global warming is a fact. However, other than population reduction, no one knows a physically viable approach to constraint. To promote remedies that are economically unfeasible is non-civic.

The U.S. constitution guarantees the states a republican form of government. To promote democracy is un-civic.

I see online-warnings about Roblox play. Perhaps it is non-civic gaming.

quora.com/Why-is-form-so-often-preferred-over-substance-in-everything-from-debate-to-architecture-to-politics? by Lawrence Cromwell

Q: Why is form so often preferred over substance in everything from debate to architecture to politics?

A: I perceive 3 reasons, one somewhat useful.

First, in accepted form, the speaker is almost certain to be understood by listeners who comprehend the conventions. Small consolation, since there are many conventions. For example, Albert Einstein failed to communicate integrity& research to religion& science audiences. Also, an American cannot articulate responsible-human-independence (RHI) to an English audience.

Second, listeners are proud of the lives they live and resist the humility to appreciate the speaker on par with them: a god-facing-death. I appreciate your question, Mr. Cromwell, so spent precious time to respond. I am rewarded by what I learned from brief study.

Third, scholars who-decide-form, intentionally or not, work to protect the politically elite, hoping the elites will choose to pay the scholars above average wages.

Take, for example, the word “ineluctable”. It has been in use since 1570. Its meaning is controversial. I prefer “not to be avoided, changed, or resisted”. Some dictionaries avoid “changed”, I think in error. A 1620 meaning is “not to be escaped by struggling”, which implies that escape without struggle is permissible. A judge can simply award injustice: therefore, “inescapable” has no substance. People who learn “ineluctable” and a meaning seem reluctant to practice, facilitate, and encourage its use. Why?

“Ineluctable truth” has been published since about 1906. Imagine a trial-clerk asking the witness to swear to reveal ineluctable-evidence that they know. Evidence not to be avoided, changed, or resisted lessens a judge’s discretion to let the guilty escape without struggling.

I hope 2022 initiates widespread public awareness of “the-ineluctable-truth”, adding precision, accuracy, and depth to “truth”.

People accept form over substance due to honest lack of self-interest. But people are not served by honesty and can& may develop integrity.

This morning, I am grateful that Sally and Robert Fitzgerald shared non-fiction from Flannery O’Connor in “Mystery and Manners”, 1957. Myth is suggested.

O’Connor expressed the necessity to discover “the spirit which makes it itself. [Discovery intrudes] upon the timeless, and that is only done by the violence of a single minded respect for the truth.” Our friend John Harbo takes “violence” therein to mean “passion”.

To try to lend to "truth" accuracy, precision, and depth, I use “the-ineluctable-truth”, where “ineluctable” means “not to be avoided, changed, or resisted”. I'd like to consider an improved expression.

July 4, which could be dedicated to the necessary-justice of responsible-human-independence (RHI), is hijacked by political elites, in order to promote national myths: equality, freedom, and liberty.

Elite politicians preserve Anglo-American tradition despite the 1787 intentions proffered in the U.S. Constitution: six domestic disciplines “to ourselves and our Posterity”.

The disciplines are: integrity, justice, safety, strength, prosperity, and responsibility. However, the homo sapiens can& may choose dependency rather than discipline. Dependencies include religion, indolence, crime, and tyranny.

In 1791, Congress seized freedom-of-religion to Congress, at the people's expense. The latest egregious consequence is the 6:3 Supreme Court opinion that Kennedy v. Bremerton School District must encourage Christians to refuse Jesus’s advice. Government ought not encourage believers to arrogate their own scripture.

Jesus instructed trust-in prayer-in-the-closet rather than exhibitionism. Justices can’t practice ceremony alone, so they’re erroneously compelled to grant to Christians arrogance toward Jesus. I hope Supreme Court folly is soon corrected. Congress can& may amend the First Amendment's second religion clause to "nor [promoting] the free exercise thereof".

July 4 is, each year, at the leading edge of 300,000 years’ cultural evolution by homo sapiens. In 2022, it seems evident that neither God nor government can usurp human-being’s responsibility to practice, facilitate, and encourage safety& security to the lesser species and to the earth. Homo sapiens can& may ponder that God proffers love while Jesus proffers peace, and each person may choose to practice, facilitate, and encourage safety& security.

Perhaps Flannery O’Connor suggests mystery& manners grounded in myths can be reformed to RHI.

Let 2022 be the year 2/3 of Americans let go of the mythical totalitarianism of “We the People of the United States” and accept that only citizens who trust-in and commit-to the preamble’s six domestic disciplines can provide the safety& security that is needed for dependent fellow-citizens to reform to RHI.

U.S. Supreme Court’s egregious approval of religious misconduct

Selected theme from this week

U.S. Supreme Court’s egregious approval of religious misconduct

Christianity’s arrogance toward Jesus’s political philosophy was never clearer than accommodation to Coach Kennedy to take his prayer from the closet to the 50 yard line. See John 6:1,5-6 for Jesus’ advice. The court voted 6:3 to encourage prayer pride in KENNEDY v. BREMERTON SCHOOL DIST.

We, the civic people of the United States can& may amend the First Amendment so as to prevent Congress from promoting free practice of religion. Christians ought to conform to Jesus’s political philosophy and religious privacy is none of Congress’s business.

I opine this a 6:3 vote condoning public defiance of Biblical instruction; for example, in Matthew 6:5-6. The U.S. ought not encourage religious practice at all, let alone in arrogance toward scripture. The referenced scripture is reported as instruction from Jesus and adds to my list of practical-Jesus suggestions affirmed by human experience& observations. Indeed, the court needs reform. Christian groups & churches can& may object to court errors.

Ancient cultures, for example, Sumer 5,500 years ago realized that the gods will not usurp human-being's responsibility for safety& security on earth.

Pence fails understanding that Jesus does not usurp the individual's duty to aid safety& security on earth. Consequently, Pence betrayed the U.S. commander-in-chief, who is charged in Article II, Section 3 "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed".

I voted for Trump 4 times and am on deck for a 5th time, provided his running mate expresses that the constitution holds the administration responsible to civic-citizens of the U.S. (We the People of the United States who accept the intentions that are stated in the preamble) rather than to his personal god, whatever that may be.

Tucker's opinion about long-needed Supreme Court action seemed good until "We've just begun . . . " Who is "we" in his claim? The Christian democrats? The U.S. Constitution, Article IV, Section 4 says, "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government." That means constitutional republic, not "representative democracy".

The monumental offense is the 1791 First Amendment's religion clauses, which grant Congress freedom of religion. I hope the Supreme Court quickly reforms their recent, egregious religious instruction to Coach Kennedy: effectually, despite Jesus' instruction, take your prayer out of the closet to the 50 yard line!

Congress can& may amend the First Amendment to “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or [promoting] the free exercise thereof.”

Why do most Christians want to pray in public and thus defy Jesus' advice?

Q: Wouldn't accepting personal responsibility, ethics and reality in the pursuit of fairness and justice for all instead of blaming many for the actions of the few be far better than perpetuating division in the form of movements and ideologies?

A: Yes, except that “for all” is not feasible, because not every dependent fellow-citizen wants justice, let alone the fairness ideal.

Movements and ideologies are responses to erroneous tradition. Personal responsibility, sincere as it may seem to the agent, often lacks the integrity that is required for civic reliability. Herein, “civic” means fidelity in human connections& transactions. The errant citizen must be corrected by fellow-citizens’ resistance. There can be no polite stonewalling.

Human beings can& may reject responsibility by pursuing a dependency, such as, indolence, crime, or tyranny. Civic-citizens necessarily constrain dependent fellow-citizens using the rule-of-law: statutes and enforcement. Civic-citizens can& may ensure statutory justice.

Dependents who preserve un-just laws are tyrants and the least likely to reform. This is so, because tyrants understand dependencies and, therefore, create& maintain traditions that prey on gullible fellow-citizens. An insidious tradition is Congressional freedom of religion, by which Congress (synonymous with Corruption) picks the peoples’ pockets with immunity.

Tyrants subsidize poverty (keep the poor impoverished) and own supply enterprises. They endorse and subsidize theism, so that believers wait an eternity for relief expected from their divine provider. Tyrants do all they can to distract fellow citizens from practicing, facilitating, and encouraging responsible-human-independence (RHI). Many tyrants subsidize politicians and media businesses who aid them. Happily, there are signs that the youth want to curtail divine-ruin of their future.

The first step to remedy in the U.S. is to free ourselves from the influence of utopia: to accept that We the People of the United States is conditional on accepting “in order to” and understanding the 6 domestic disciplines that relate to “unity”, justice, “tranquility”, “defence”, “welfare”, and “liberty”. And most of all, accepting that “ourselves” can& may pay our way rather than creating debt to “our Posterity”.

Second is to embrace the constitutional republic, putting aside the alien world’s desire to persuade civic-citizens of the U.S. to embrace democracy, social democracy, communism, or any other commitment to divergent chaos. The Democrat Party blatantly endorses Davos’ “the Great Reset” and the WHO’s role.

Third is to individually vote in self-interest to practice, facilitate, and promote RHI to elected& appointed officials in every level of government.

I don’t think it is too late to constrain the corruption that has overtaken the Democrat Party and the media in the U.S. However, the deep state is so corrupt I don’t think any individual can effect reform. I’ll vote Republican unless I perceive a better choice, but will not let up on urging the civic-integrity needed for RHI in high places.

In my contacts with fellow citizens, it seems, the civic-individual is alive and well and only needs to vote with pure self-interest towards RHI. I think the U.S. can be saved but not by preserving Anglo-American tradition.

Terry, thank you for sharing more.

First, I’d like to share MeriamW’s definition of “prudent”: “marked by wisdom or judiciousness”. I try to avoid evaluative phrases, so gladly gave it up. Thank you for that, too.

My post refers to “the-God” and I have no idea what that is. It could be physics. Regardless, I am humble to whatever constrains the consequences of human choices. For example, the country that invades another may invite unwanted consequences.

I don’t recall our past discussion of ethics. I reviewed personal files and see that I have read Hume: AN ENQUIRY CONCERNING HUMAN UNDERSTANDING and Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion. Hume and Ralph Waldo Emerson, in “Divinity School Address”, plus my long regard for “Self-Reliance”, helped me realize that honesty is insufficient: fellow-citizens need integrity, especially civic-integrity.

Integrity is grounded in discoverable evidence, which, when the necessary perception-tools are available, may lead to the-ineluctable-truth. “Ineluctable” means “not to be avoided, changed, or resisted”. The ineluctable-evidence does not accommodate opposing reason.

When the-ineluctable-evidence has not been discovered, humans may invent concern, devise doctrine by which to relieve the concern, and persuade some people to adopt the concern and the relief, never having verified the concern. By such constructs, people adopt concern for the mystery of soul and the supposition that they can& may act to benefit their afterdeath mystery. It is unlikely that the-ineluctable-truth accommodates even one mystery, let alone every person’s relief.

I have only read about Darwin and understand that evolution is about the laws of physics acting in changing environments. I have not read Walter Bagehot, would like to read “Physics and Politics”, 1872, and doubt I will.

I read about Adam Smith at plato.stanford.edu/entries/smith-moral-political/. Quoting the article,Perhaps taking a cue from David Hume's skepticism about the capacity of philosophy to replace the judgments of common life, Smith [exerts] political interest in guaranteeing to ordinary individuals the “natural liberty” to act in accordance with their own judgments.” The laws of physics do not accommodate reason.

Most people do not appreciate Albert Einstein the political philosopher. Quoting Einstein, “It is the privilege of man’s moral genius, impersonated by inspired individuals, to advance ethical axioms which are so comprehensive and so well founded that men will accept them as grounded in the vast mass of their individual emotional experiences. Ethical axioms are found and tested not very differently from the axioms of science. Truth is what stands the test of experience.“

I don’t know why he chose “emotional” to modify “experiences”. His single example addresses not lying due to civic self-interest rather than to follow a doctrine or rule. Perhaps his reasoning applies to not killing as well. See “The Laws of Science and The Laws of Ethics” in the book Out of My Later Years.

Unfortunately, Einstein suffered like-Darwin social pressures. Writing for “science and religion” audiences, Einstein expressed the nonsense, “Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.” I speculate words that better express Einstein are: Research without integrity is ruinous, integrity without research is ineffectual. Jerry Coyne analyses the problems at newrepublic.com/article/115821/einsteins-famous-quote-science-religion-didnt-mean-taught.

I trust-in and commit-to the-ineluctable-truth, most of which I do not know. I do not deem that religious yet accept it may be viewed as “faith” in the undiscovered.

I appreciate the opportunity to learn (e.g., Walter Bagehot on to-do list) by dialoguing with you, Terry. Please write as often as you want to. Use email if you like: phillip@beaver.brcoxmail.com .

quora.com/unanswered/Can-we-be-both-free-and-independent-people-while-also-believing-in-the-importance-of-having-the-right-or-correct-image? by Moonlight Sky

I don’t think so. Through work, homo sapiens can be free& independent but cannot have civil correctness. As evolution unfolds, necessity& justice demand constitutional reform.

The laws of physics constrain human-beings to work for safety& security. Fellow-citizens can& may choose to uphold physics against tyranny: laziness, crime, or civic power. Here, “civic” refers to reliability in human connections& transactions. Reliable civics, rather than civilization, drives the rule of law.

Freedom& independence demand development& maintenance of statutory justice, by which to practice, facilitate, and encourage responsible-human-independence (RHI) “to ourselves and our Posterity” (quoting the preamble to the U.S. Constitution).

At any moment in time, physics’ correction to human choices discloses unjust law, which requires constitutional reform toward statutory justice. The current adult generation always inherits some injustices and has the duty to discover& reform law to the next generation. Thus, the free& independent citizens can& may always pursue correctness for safety& security to “ourselves and our Posterity”.

For example, adults who live high on the hog by accumulating debt to their descendants invite present& future ruin. The industry that thrives on persuading children to change their physics invites castigation.

The principal value of legal precedent is to disclose past errors so as to neither repeat them nor apply them in the work for reform. Correct rule of law is grounded in the-discoverable-truth if not the-ineluctable-truth. “Ineluctable” means “not to be avoided, changed, or resisted”.

Joker Words attributed to George Clooney: “Call me crazy, but I love to see people happy and succeeding. Life is a journey, not a competition.”

I think this sentiment is improved if "appreciation" replaces "a journey" and "rather than" replaces "a": Life is appreciation rather than competition.

I like my modified "Joker Word" because it produces more laughter than concern: seriously.

facebook.com/phil.beaver.52/, June 29, 2022

It seems clear the human individual acts on necessity& justice, as they perceive it. Some pursue civic-integrity for responsible-human-independence (RHI). Others pursue a dependency, such as, indolence, crime, or tyranny.

Government can& may practice, facilitate, and encourage RHI, in order to civilize civic-integrity. The U.S. government’s dependence springs from religion, in particular Judeo-Christianity, especially Judeo-Catholicism.

Religion is reasoned resolution without reliable concern. Since mystery is unreliable, the 1787 preamble to the U.S. Constitution, ratified in 1788, and subsequently un-amended, leaves religious belief a private choice.

Yesterday, we learned that the U.S. Supreme Court encouraged public prayer to Coach Kennedy, a Christian, against his school board. Jesus was unrepresented.

It seems egregious that 6 Judeo-Christian justices would encourage Christians to defy Jesus’s well-grounded civic& spiritual advice: keep religious practices private. See Matthew 6:1-8, “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them . . .” and Proverbs 15:25-33, “The Lord tears down the house of the proud . . . and humility comes before honor”.

Fellow-citizens may wonder what inspires justices to defy the power that controls the consequences of human choice. Some call the controller “God”. Many Christians offer “The Trinity”. The control seems to be physics.

For safety and security, the civic faction of We the People of the United States need not continue to accommodate the U.S. government’s dependency on Congressional freedom of religion. We can& may amend the First Amendment so as to terminate 1791-Congress-imposed tyranny.

I suggest the following words for the amended First Amendment’s religion clauses: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or [promoting] the free exercise thereof.”

Appreciation

I appreciate UBCCourageClass’s welcoming patience with me and dialogue that is stimulating to our friend Chris Nalepa. I hope Patrick MacDanel will attend a meeting soon. Patrick is a high-level Information Technology expert and Christian physical-fitness leader with Healing Place Church.

I appreciated Abner Hammond’s recent leadership and am happily reading the book “Sapiens”. It will curtail my work until I finish it.

I look forward to Mike’s “Liberal vs Conservative” lessons.

It seem difficult to warm to patriotism& pride when traditional clichés seem to exacerbate today’s divergent chaos. This July 4 will be interesting.

A positive view about homo sapiens.

Whatever constrains the consequences of human choice informs us that persons can& may perfect their personal god-facing-death. I hope soon UBCCourageClass-members accept each other as gods-facing-death: no qualification/assessment required.

About 5,500 years ago, in Sumer, political philosophers suggested that human-being has god-like independence to rule the earth and all its species. That is, whether woman or a man, a god-facing-death, can& may perfect their person before body& mind stop functioning. Woman& man can& may constrain chaos on earth.

The Sumer-suggestion is expressed by Hebrew scholars in Genesis 1:26-28. Jesus, at least a person with exceptional insights to human being, seemed, in John 10:34, in Matthew 5:48, and elsewhere to affirm god-like perfectibility to each human. For all we know, Jesus is the-High-God. Unfortunately, some groups erroneously restrict “human” to their beliefs.

I consider myself a god-facing-death and view fellow-persons equal gods-facing-death -- where they are, as they are, in their responsible pursuits of the happiness they perceive. Their responsible pursuit for them is essential to civic-collaboration yet does not impose-on my personal pursuit. Low as I may be, I work to perfect my performance, trying to preserve my time for achievement.

Baptist Sunday-school leaders

Leaders can project happiness or disturbance. They present thought, perhaps with a novel view and potential interpretation, then let the class share their experiences& observations. Class members share with transparency. The leader need not evaluate a human-being’s experiences& observations. Disturbance occurs if one thought is treated as heresy: gods-facing-death develop their own paths to perfection. Happiness obtains when the class learns from each other either immediately or in reflection. In the rare class whose members mutually appreciate gods-facing-death, erroneous comments (human mistakes) may be taken in stride.

There’s no place for censorship among gods-facing-death. I like Vaughn’s way of saying it: “In class, you can say anything you want to.” And Chris Nalepa’s way: “Be transparent.”

Interestingly, at my first luncheon with members of Nomads Class, yesterday, I reminded a peer who inquired about my experiences in the 1980s UBC, that I returned neither Baptist nor Christian, in order to advocate Jesus. I remarked that if I had had to maturity to express that then, I might never have left. That Nomad agreed: others might be aghast with the dialogue.

A positive view of U.S.-citizenship

Due to failed civic-education (I think a press duty), almost no American has high regard for U.S. intentions “to ourselves and our Posterity”. Responsible-human-independence (RHI) is abstractly proposed in the preamble’s domestic-discipline sentence. Many Christians use the declaration of war against England to personally obfuscate actively neglecting the preamble that addresses the Nation’s intentions. Many justices facilitate preservation of colonial-English tradition. Scholars impose the traditions. I appreciate Michael’s plan to accommodate a 4 session series on the preamble and will prepare 4 each, 10-minute introductions.

Scripture and the stock market

I appreciate Michael’s “advertising” of the 4-week discussion he plans. I will research and think on it. My first thought is that it seems immoral to invest in the “the Great Reset”; I cite Genesis 1 for resistance.

The divergent-chaos that humankind has obtained calls for reform

Three concepts that inspired me to return to UBC& stay seem strange to most fellow citizens.

First, no Christian I know takes Genesis 1:26-28 as condoned by Jesus. Yet Jesus said, “Before Abraham was born I am.” Sargon ruled before Abraham was born. I think Genesis 1:28 demands us to develop RHI – removes all excuse for not aiding safety& security in living.

Second, scholars have “protected” us from the word “ineluctable”, which means “not to be avoided, changed, or resisted”. Consequently, we accommodate public-opinion that is not grounded in the-ineluctable-truth. “Ineluctable” was used in translation from another language in 1570. It was coupled with “truth” in 1906. Yet most of us have never encountered “ineluctable”. Votes that are not grounded in at least the-observable-truth oppose the voter’s self-interest.

Third, religion imposes mysteries that obfuscate civic-integrity. “Civic” means reliable human connections and transactions. The Bible reports Jesus expressing civic-integrity. The practical Jesus can be developed when living people share experiences& observations.

However, Jesus’s safety& security suggestions seem obfuscated by 6 mysteries: God, the Holy Spirit, Jesus’s peace, Satan, soul, and heaven/hell. Individuals can take interest in the mysteries while developing the civic-integrity required for RHI.

However, mystery& miracles make it difficult to discern& develop RHI. Other avocations, like professional sports, the symphony, or rock shows, do not intentionally distract from RHI.

Phil Beaver does not “know.” He trusts in and is committed to the-objective-truth which can only be discovered. Conventional wisdom has truth founded on reason, but it obviously does not work.
