refers to citizens who collaborate for individual
happiness with civic integrity more than for the city, state, nation, or
society.
Consider writing a personal
paraphrase of the preamble, which offers fellow citizens mutual appreciation: For discussion, I convert the preamble’s predicate phrases to nouns and
paraphrase it for my interpretation of its proposal as follows We the People of the United States proffer &
practice 5 public disciplines —- integrity, justice, safety, strength, and
prosperity, “in order to” encourage & facilitate
responsible-human-independence “to ourselves and our Posterity”. I want to improve my interpretation by listening to
other citizens and their interpretations yet would preserve the original, 1787,
text, unless it is amended by the people.
It seems the
Supreme Court occasionally refers to it, and no one has challenged whether or
not the preamble is a legal statement. The fact that it changed this
independent country from a confederation of states to a union of states
deliberately managed by disciplined fellow citizens convinces me the preamble is
legal. Equity in opportunity and outcome is shared by the people who
collaborate for human justice.
Every citizen
has equal opportunity to either trust-in and collaborate-on the goals stated in
the preamble or be dissident to the agreement. I think 2/3 of citizens try
somewhat to use the preamble but many do not articulate commitment to the
goals. However, it seems less than 2/3 understand that “posterity” implies
grandchildren. “Freedom of religion,” which fellow citizens have no means to
discipline, oppresses freedom to develop integrity.

We civic-citizens can& may: accept Jesus’ mystery, pursue Jesus’ guidance, and advocate Jesus’ presence. For example, when Jesus learned that someone had made a civic error, such as adultery, he did not condemn them. But he suggested they cease promiscuity. In other words, civic-reliability is a personal responsibility, and each person accepts& practices civic-integrity or not.
The mystery is that once you ponder Jesus's civic suggestions enough to apply them for the-good, the personal benefits are so great one feels compelled to increase comprehension& application. Aid comes from fellow citizens who have the same intentions: accept, pursue, and advocate the-good. Jesus' lessons are appreciated in the continuum of generations and thus are not limited to space& time.
For example, Jesus suggested that, in marriage, a man leaves his heritage and unites to his wife as one. This seemingly political philosophy has physical impact, because marriage accepts mutual responsibility to progeny& descendants. Modern civic societies understand that a human infant is a person; however, this civil aspect of marriage was not dominant 2,000 years ago, except to Jesus. Before Jesus, it was accepted that a man could use as many women as possible and subject descendants to their several societies.

Half-way into my 80th year, I accept the-God as is, the-good as it emerges, and
“my-peace” as Jesus offers. I promote the-secular-Jesus’ influence. I think,
through each generation of "ourselves and our Posterity" (quoting the
U.S. Constitution), the-secular-Jesus becomes clearer and inspires
responsible-human-independence (RHI). While I think we are in an abyss brought
on by the world's monotheisms, civic people are considering humility to
the-God, whatever it is. Regardless, the-good is suggested by
the-secular-Jesus, and an achievable better future is ahead.

America’s freedom of religion is 1789 U.S. Congressional
tyranny. The-civic-faction of We the People of the United States can& may
amend the 1791 Bill of Rights’ First Amendment. “Civic” expresses reliability

The amended clause can read, “Congress shall make no law . . . [promoting] the
free exercise [of religion]”. “Promoting” replaces “preventing” and assigns
religion to private choice, provided the

The consequences of this restoration of U.S. responsible-independence,
won by the 1774 U.S. revolutionary war against England, can& may be
extensive. First, the civic-faction
would relieve elected and appointed officials of the-God excuse, “so help me
my-God” for not upholding the oath of their office. That it’s “my-God” is made
plain, for example, by elected/appointed Mormons, who consider themselves
divine-saints but don’t share the doctrine. Second, the civic-faction would relieve themselves of the
ceremonial prayer imposed by civil authorities, often conducted by ministers at
the people’s expense. Third, the
civic-faction could& might, at last, uphold
the separation of church from state that is required for civic-integrity and consider the benefits of
secular-morality made evident by the world’s religious literature. For example,
the-secular-Jesus positively influences students of its presentation in Bible
canon, while the-mysterious-Jesus competes with scriptural Gods, and Holy
Spirits. Fourth, the-civic-faction
could& might require U.S. Education Departments to inculcate in the nation’s
willing youth and adults the comprehension
to appreciate their unique human-being and the personal intention to responsibly pursue the-happiness-they desire rather
than submit to the vision someone else would impose on them.
Freedom from the imposition of religion allows the
civic-human-being to discover& practice their role as the species that is

Empathy is a learned practice the human-being can& may
embrace. Some, for diverse reasons, do not accept empathy.
Someone must produce the energy it requires for a person to breathe. The energy
is supplied to the person through food, which requires exponentially more
energy than the energy to breathe.
The feral infant has no empathy for the hand that empowers their breathing.
Most children acquire, by experience& observation, appreciation for both
the person who feeds them and the opportunity to develop the means to feed
themselves.
However, a few never accept their opportunity to develop
responsible-human-independence (RHI). Unfortunate is the person who practically
thinks they are owed the breath of life.
In fairness, they could at least become grateful enough to the hand that feeds
them to free that person from extra burden or sincere care-taking.
Unfortunately, there are persons who have not the ability to imagine empathy,

Perhaps the most tragic fellow-citizen is the manipulative narcissist who dies
with no personal fulfillment, especially the ones who possess extreme wealth:

Civilizations have erroneously tried to construct usurpation of human duty by inculcating in
themselves& their youth hope-for& comfort-in a-higher-power. Consequently Education Departments fail to
inculcate comprehension-of and commitment-to CSS. Almost no one alive
confidently, serenely pursues the civic-integrity that is required to practice

In an RHI-culture, Education Departments inculcate civic-integrity
as each person’s self-interest toward CSS. These principles are expressed in
both Genesis 1:26-28 NIV (primitive political philosophy expressed by the

“The-godless-good”
expresses each person’s civic choices& actions to aid CSS, keeping any
spiritual-pursuits both civil and private. In other words, the 1787 U.S.
Constitution does not appeal to the-God to usurp each citizen’s responsibility
to pursue RHI during their lifetime.
If U.S. Education Departments inculcated RHI, destiny’s few
homeless persons would deserve help. Also, other nations would be influenced to

It would be alright for some other nation to fill the gaps

Cultural evolution informs us that human being (verb)
can& may order itself to pursue comprehensive-safety& security
on earth. So far, the-God that may control the-laws has not been discovered,
and no government can usurp human-being (noun).
It seems the-laws-of-physics& progeny – math, chemistries, biology,
psychology, fiction, lies, etc, (the-laws) are the only constraints on human choices&
actions. Human-being can& may discover the-laws and how to use them, both
positively& negatively. For example, civic-citizens never lie, because they
expect the-laws to reveal the lie& the-liar. However, some human actions
are grounded in emotions and cause harm.
Justice -- correct judgment when harm occurs – is
continually pursued. Judgment must be empowered with enforcement, so
civic-citizens fund a justice system. Justice cannot be designed after an
offense occurred. That is, awareness of the possibility of that offense and the
constraints and potential penalties recorded and reported before the first
occurrence: a civic-people fund statutory-law. Offenders have no excuse for
their harm and deserve the statutory-penalties. A civic-country pursues
statutory-justice.
These observations have been possible since the Sumer
polytheistic-civilization, whose kings developed codes-of-law ending with the
Babylonian Code of Hammurabi. It features civic-details and eye for eye
punishments. Monotheism displaced polytheism, and some princes learned that the
expense of domestic physical force is lessened if they partner with the
dominant clergy: Religious believers
constrain themselves according to the demands of their-God.
The world’s institutional religions are dominated by
cultural Semites, with 54.9% descending from Abraham: 31.3% Christian, 23.2%
Muslim, and 0.2% Jew. Other major groups include 16.3% unaffiliated, 15% Hindu,

These institutional groups are further divided by geopolitical doctrine. For
example, there are 10 to 20 Christian canon and over 40,000 Christian sects.
I know of one people’s constitution that does not authorize
the state to partner with church. The 1787 U.S. Constitution is godless.
However, the state ratification conventions ending in 1788 required the First
Congress to amend the Constitution to include an English-mimicking Bill of
Rights (1689). Beginning in April-May, 1789 with 11 states in the United
States, Congress imposed religion on the innocent people and codified it in the
1791 Bill of Rights. At that time, voters, 5% of the free population, were 99%
American Protestant and were unaware of the future diversity the USA would
attract& welcome. Today, 100% of typical citizens can& may vote, and
only 14.7% are American Protestant.
After 234 years operation under English civil-tradition, U.S. fellow-citizens
suffer the tyranny of Congressional freedom of religion. This breech of comprehensive-safety&
security in the U.S. can be remedied by amendment of the First
Amendment’s religious practice clause. The civic-citizens can& may amend “Congress
shall make no law . . . prohibiting the free exercise thereof” to replace
“prohibiting” with “promoting”.
There is no excuse for government to consider, much less
promote, religion that conflicts with statutory-justice. U.S.-civic-citizen-neglect
to comprehensive-safety& security accommodates Congressional tyranny. We
can& may stop that tyranny.

Merriam-Webster online opines that “virtue” means: conformity
to a standard of right. The standard of right I like is the civic-integrity to
practice responsible-human-independence (RHI), in order to reliably pursue
personal happiness during my unique-human lifetime.
Beginning my 80th year, my current standard of
right is: comprehensively constraining chaos in my choices and actions. For
example, I considered& passed 17 questions, in order to respond to yours.
During life, accumulate guidelines that aid me, including
the following five:
First, accept no
substitute for the-ineluctable-truth, where “ineluctable” means: not to be
avoided, changed, escaped, neglected, or resisted. Discovery comes from
research that appreciates ineluctable-evidence and happily concludes “we don’t
know, so pursue new direction or methods”, when not knowing is the consequence
of research-integrity. Appreciate the acceptance, “We don’t know”. The problem
with “truth” is that the civilly-astute can falsely modify the-something-being-considered.
For example, an adulterer can claim innocence because the other was having sex
yet the spouse was passive. A civic-spouse does not accommodate such abuse of
other people.
Second, practice,
facilitate& encourage responsible-human-independence (RHI) in
connections& transactions. RHI differs from self-reliance, because it
accepts civic-integrity. “Civic” refers to human-reliability more than to civil
deference. For example, a civic-citizen obeys traffic-laws in route to the airport
and helps a fellow-passenger in need. Again, religious RHI appreciates other
civic-citizens motivations& inspirations.
Third, neither
initiate nor accommodate harm to or from any entity. Defend when there is
attack, and lobby for relief from arbitrary force or unjust taxation. If your
religious-institution abuses people, whether believers or not, lobby for reform
and consider withholding contributions until legality is effected; a worthy
religion accommodates both RHI and the-rule-of-law.
Fourth, consider
that human being (verb) involves both developed inspiration& motivation
for unique-personal-happiness and acquired experience& observations
respecting the consequences of personal-choice& action. Accept that
humankind can only research ineluctable-evidence based on
the-laws-of-physics& progeny. Physics’ progeny includes mathematics,
weak& strong forces, waves, particles, chemistries, biology, psychology,
imagination, and fiction, at least. The unique person can& may constrain
their inspiration& motivation, in order to pursue their personal happiness
rather than subjugate to society’s vision for them. No one has discovered
the-God that can defy the-laws-of-physics. RHI is in a person’s self-interest.
Fifth, it takes a
quarter-century for a person to transition from feral-human-infant to young
adult with the comprehension& intention to pursue RHI. It takes another
couple quarter centuries for an individual to develop& acquire
self-interest in civic-integrity. Meanwhile, humankind marches on. Sometime in
the next 10 years, NASA expects to begin colonizing either the moon or Mars.
Meanwhile, this world is in chaos and many people blame past governance.
Fortunate is the person who has chosen a path to RHI.
People are without excuse: These principles have been knowable since the
dawn-of-wokeness in 300,000 years’ homo sapiens’ evolution. By wokeness, I
express propensity to violence when your assumed “rights” seem threatened. This
attitude and grammar to express it came about 10,000 years ago. The overall RHI-message
was developed in Sumerian codes of law beginning 5,500 years ago and recorded
in Hebrew vernacular in Genesis 1, especially Verses 26-28. An RHI culture is
proffered in the 1787 U.S. Constitution, especially in its amend-ability and
its preamble “to ourselves and our Posterity”. So far, the civic-people,
unhappily, do not pursue the proposed nation: the United States.
The civic-people (in the U.S. We the People of the United
States) can& may reform every Education Department so as to aid willing
individuals in their transition to RHI more than “to train the workers we
need”. It’s alright for some other nation to adopt the pursuit of RHI then
inspire the U.S.
Each human-being has the opportunity, the power, the energy,
and the authority to either discover RHI and constrain chaos in their way of
living or accept/nourish dependency. To complain about personal failure to
accept& pursue RHI in a world that is exploring other worlds is folly.

wonderfully supportive Southern Baptist parents practicing competitive
Christianity, I dropped out of religion at age 50, in order to pursue an
independent course: reading classical and modern non-fiction and fiction,
writing to share, and LISTENING, in order to improve my opinion. I discovered
that while the Apostle John, for example, expressed his view of Spiritual
Jesus, the-secular-Jesus appeals to me. For example, in Matthew 19:3-8, the writer
portrays Jesus as amending Moses’ law from civility to civicallity. At age 79,
I accept the-God’s appreciation of human being (verb) as the-God perceives it,
in order to discover secular advice from a man, Jesus, who perceived human
being pursuing the civic-integrity to perfect RHI.

presence of the-civic-Jesus. "Civic" refers to responsibly listening,

I think independence better represents America's 1774 war against England and

Them folk always thought I'd join the long list of Bible
thumpin preachers. When I took a lik'n to Jesus' secular influence, they
privately started unclaim'n me. Once my birth family-members died, I, at last,
accepted my space in a secular world and discovered ways to advocate for
the-secular-Jesus, even at church. I recall with joy those Sundays at Tater
Valley all-day sang'ns . . . and crawdad'n& vine swang'n with cousins and
accept what I became under Jesus' influence. Half through my 80th year, I find
smiles everywhere. Not from every person, but from most people who have
something to say. I was born again when I met Cynthia. What joy!

Speaking of
dictionaries: my church hosted a 3 week, small-group discussion of Christian
nationalism, which morphed into too many controversies, including
anti-Semitism.
Back home, I asked my daughters if they had ever heard "Semitism".
Holly said, "No, except as the opposite". Rebekah said it must
reflect favor to Semitic-language descendants.
I found "Semitism" in both Meriam Webster (predisposition favorable
to Jews) and American Heritage. However, neither Collins nor Oxford
accommodated my search. Fancy that!
It turns out Semites are descendants of Noah's son, Shem. Hebrews are one of
many branches.
I attend the annual Jewish Film Festival and am neutral to Jews. Yet I consider
myself a cultural-Semite who advocates Jesus'-influence to the secular world.
If you happen upon a 1780s American dictionary at a moderate price, John, I'd
like to own it. I'm especially interested in words used in the 1787 U.S.

Margo, you'al might benefit from a story from our 40-year
past.
We owned the lot outright, had the house plan Cynthia oversaw and approved
after 5 years' architect-consulting and drafting, a builder ready to sign the
contract, 3 children with schools, and their great grandmother, who required a
first-floor bedroom. Unexpectedly, someone bought our home.
I worked, while Cynthia concluded there was no apartment available. Then she
concluded there was no rent house. We shopped for a house to buy and signed a
contract on Sunday, prepared to spend $5K on Mortgage.
On Monday, the banker said, "You don't need a mortgage. All you need is a
RENEWABLE, 18-month construction-contract and your commitment to get the job
done." The rate was prime plus 1%, and the banker drove by the house that
afternoon to confirm it existed, as a loan-approving appraisal.
I balked at signing the construction contract: Cynthia said, "That's not
the man I married." I reformed. On schedule, we moved into our modestly
designed, custom, 5 br, 3.5 bath home, turning our wonderful temp home over to
the buyer.
Five years ago, I told Cynthia I wanted to sell our house and move to something
smaller. She smiled and said, "It isn't time."
Less than a year later, a family of 5 knocked on the door and said, "Just
name your price." I said, "My wife said it's not for sale." They
responded, "Tell her we'll pay her price." I said, "I already
know her response: It's not for sale." I doubt I will ever sell it.

I think it was good not to release this movie commercially
and appreciate BRJFF making it possible for us to view it. The inhumanity was
very well exposed by the movie. I can now say I indirectly know a sociopathic
celebrity. More than holocaust movies from the past, this one gave me the
impression of a decades, at most century-long development. I'd like to see a
movie that as effectively expresses the development during 3 thousand to 6
thousand years past. I think monotheism is perhaps the cause, and historical
evidence might help humankind accelerate the path to civic-integrity toward
human being (verb) more than to our cultural group. I think I am culturally
Semitic, converting to human-being and humankind is now in transition. The
long-term division of humankind will be civic-citizens and arrogant-dependents.

their predicament clearly. The climax was stunning. Lives changed forever. The
deeper issue I saw is the injustice of "rights" legislation at the
expense of responsibility. Responsibility is a fundamental divide between
French culture and U.S. proffered-intentions. I am ready to rename the NY
harbor U.S. gift from a Frenchman "The Statue of Independence".
