The United States republic: of by and for the civic faction

Phil Beaver seeks to collaborate on the ineluctable truth. Ineluctable means:  Not to be assailed, avoided, broken, changed, escaped, mystified, neglected, obfuscated, rationalized, resisted, revoked, or voided. Some people erroneously imagine limiting the ineluctable truth, for example, trying to change it.

"Civic" refers to citizens who collaborate for individual happiness with civic integrity more than for the city, state, nation, or society. Civic citizens neither initiate nor accommodate harm to or from anyone. Civic citizens are reliably responsible to the good rather than the bad in connections and transactions.


Consider writing a personal paraphrase of the preamble, which offers fellow citizens mutual appreciation:  For discussion, I convert the preamble’s predicate phrases to nouns and paraphrase its proposal as follows: The civic faction in the United-States-republic continually improves 6 public practices: integrity, justice, safety, strength, prosperity, and responsibility --- “in order to” motivate good behavior “to ourselves and our Posterity”. I want to improve my interpretation by listening-to and considering other citizens and their interpretations yet would preserve the original, 1787 text, unless it is amended by the civic-people.

It seems the Supreme Court occasionally refers to it, and no one with status has challenged whether or not the preamble is a legal statement. The fact that it changed this independent country from a confederation of states to a union of states deliberately managed by appreciative fellow citizens convinces me the preamble is legal. Equity in opportunity and outcome is shared by the faction who collaborate for statutory justice, We the People of the United States.

Every citizen has equal opportunity to either trust-in and collaborate-on the goals stated in the preamble or be dissident to the agreement. I think 2/3 of citizens try somewhat to use the preamble but many do not articulate commitment to the goals. However, it seems less than 2/3 understand that “posterity” implies grandchildren to both born Americans and legal immigrants. Congressional freedom of religion, which fellow citizens have no means to constrain, oppresses freedom to develop integrity. This can be remedied by changing the First Amendment from “prohibiting” to “promoting”.

The United States republic is designed to prevent democracy. The preamble to the Constitution asserts intentions to pursue good behavior “to ourselves and our Posterity”. I appreciate this timely meeting. NED should be cut because of two semantic conflicts: 1) freedom and 2) democracy.

First, “freedom” bemuses the actually-real obligation of government to its citizens: opportunity. Each Homo sapiens is due the opportunity to collaborate, in order to discover and pursue goodness-which-motivates-good-behavior "to ourselves and our Posterity" (applying to humankind the U.S. preamble’s hope).

Second, “democracy” means whatever the speaker expresses to listener-ears, exponentially increasing variations. Democracy may refer to opportunity to vote, how the vote is to be used, or a system of government. From speaker to listener there may be nine meanings. Adjectives “direct” or “representative” do not lessen the impact of governing system.

In 1787, Benjamin Franklin happily announced the United States republic. In 1947 defiance, Churchill expressed English pride in democracy. US citizens need Congressional respect to the United States republic.

Congress may aid the world’s collaboration to lessen chaos and pursue order on earth, by eliminating or revising NED, in order to clarify and effect the United States republic -- a unique form of government that intentionally defeats democracy.

I think the Republican Party, under the Trump-Vance administration, can replace two historical confusions with effectual clarity:  Replace NED’s “freedom and democracy” with “opportunity and United-States-republic”.

Each person may and can constrain chaos in private ways of living.

At this edge of some 8 decades study, I appreciate primitive thoughts the ancients considered. For example, seemingly religious Genesis 1:26-28 expresses perhaps 5500 year-old thought:  On earth, Homo sapiens may and can pursue order.

In 2026, negotiating the universe seems infinitely beyond providing order on earth. Yet the chaos Homo sapiens pursues seems arrogantly divergent. Why?

I think it is because the ancients, 4000 years ago, constructed competitive doctrine. Among the ideologies, there are less than 10,000 Gods -- perhaps 4000. Almost all the ideologies promote good behavior according to the doctrine. However, many religions try to defy physics.  They may reform.

I, a fellow United States citizen, never before objected to Rand Paul's role in Congress. Rand's performance in this hearing convinces me his self-righteousness does not represent the civic faction, We the People of the United States, as defined by the intentions expressed in the preamble to the Constitution.

Feb 13 Minnesota AG and Muslim Keith Ellison’s testimony prompted an idea grounded in my 75 journey to happily unchurched. In my 82nd year, I discovered and committed-to goodness-which-motivates-good-behavior rather than preservation-of-constructed-mystery. I still face unknowns yet do not pursue mystery.

I realized that being churched requires denial of Genesis 1:26-28 membership among humankind. Therein, each person is charged to provide order on earth (including peace) yet, by rejecting the image of God, may choose disorder.

Since Genesis 1, humankind has exponentially divided on church beliefs rather than uniting as family. In my family, when a member feels divided, they say so, and the family considers the concern and collaboratively chooses an adjustment.

In Genesis 16:7-12, Abram’s first-born seems denigrated, and since then, his descendants have accepted alienation. I suggest that 2000 years of bad history can be reformed if the descendants step forward and claim their Genesis 1 power, authority, and responsibility to pursue order on earth. With that claim, the rest of humankind may and can either accommodate their collaboration for peace or be at fault for persistent disorder.

A brotherhood may and can unite the family of Abram for peace among humankind.

I think civic integrity is the object of the United States republic, and freedom of religion should unite fellow citizens rather than promote Judeo-Christianity.

I have yet to discover a Bible reader who accepts Genesis 1:26's words, in my view meaning: rule life on earth. Consider also, Psalm 82:6-7, which asserts that humans are gods facing death. And John 10:34 reports that Yeshua affirmed, "You are gods".

Since Genesis 1 comes before Genesis 2, we may and can assume that Adam did not accept the power, authority, and responsibility (PAR) assigned to him and Eve (see Genesis 1:27). The rest of the complete Bible informs of the chaos that happens when women and men do not accept PAR, in order to choose good behavior. In my opinion, not defending an other-person's opportunity to choose good behavior is bad.

The opinion I am trying to share is that Genesis 16 expresses competitive living the results when one or both parties deny PAR. Descendants of Hagar need not wait for descendants of Sarah to collaborate for goodness-which-motivates-good-behavior: they can take the lead in uniting the family of Abram. If so, the descendants of Sarah may awaken to PAR for good behavior, or peace on earth.

Ellison’s testimony seems grounded in self-righteousness that prevents him from perceiving let alone accepting PAR to goodness. He can reform.

By statutory justice, I mean reliable adjudication of written law. When statutory justice specifies execution of convicted murderers, the executioner is a servant of adjudication rather than murderer. The accused and convicted murderer, intentionally or not, submits to execution. His or her role in statutory justice was convicted perpetrator.

I think the introduction is excellent and want to offer two ideas to improve the collaboration.

First, consider "atheist" or believer vs non-believer as falsity created by theism/ideology. Thus, if each person thought of Homo sapiens' goal as goodness, according to whatever constrains the consequences of human choice rather than a god or none, the theist vs atheist badness could decline.

Second, Judeo-Christianity may and can increase Homo sapiens' quest for goodness-instead-of-badness by emphasizing goodness expressed in the ancient literature. I think Yeshua, the Judean political philosopher who lived 2000 years ago uniquely understood how contemporaries could benefit from precisely, accurately, and deeply understanding then-ancient-now-primitive thought, for example, 5500 year-old Sumerian thought that elites do not abuse the poor, widows, and orphans. Today, some nations tax workers and some churches gather tithes, in order to maintain poverty consumption -- to support entrepreneurs in church and state. Yeshua turned over the money tables for reasons he understood.

An AI assisted project to discover goodness influenced by Yeshua in his time plus improvements made apparent by discoveries since then could be used to accelerate Judeo-Christianity's pursuit of goodness-which-motivates-good-behavior rather than mystery. Pleasant memories of church are wonderful. I learned from Cynthia and our children, Holly, Stephen, and Rebekah, that each person may choose to be a god(dess) facing death (Psalm 82:6-7 and Genesis 1:26).
I'll never forget the comfort and sorrow I felt, singing the tenor part in the Negro spiritual, "Give Me Jesus", directed by the great Leroy Yarbrough (1934-2008). Silently, tears flowed, in 1991, as I tried to recover from Stephen’s horror: death.
My gratitude for experiences at University Baptist Church (UBC), Baton Rouge, cannot be quenched, nor can appreciation for the Louisiana French Catholic Church's impact on Cynthia be lessened.
However, the discovery of Yeshua, the person who lived in Galilee and influenced people in Judea 2000 years ago, inspires me to reach beyond church, in order to collaborate with humankind to discover and practice goodness-which-motivates-good-behavior.
My curiosity about Yale Divinity videos, which we discussed at UBC a couple years ago, motivated me to pursue Yeshua. Now, I recommend both grokipedia.com/page/Yeshua and youtube.com/watch?v=na22KkydPRs. The youtube video shows worldwide Yeshua-influence.
I think churches may and can pay attention to Yeshua.
In public, I create opportunity to learn Jack's name then ask him to consider this statement: “Jack and Phil collaborate to discover and practice goodness-which-motivates-good-behavior.” People like the idea. Few ask where I got it. When someone asks, I answer that 75 years' Bible reading convinced me that Yeshua, who could not – would not -- answer to "Jesus" or "Christ", influenced individuals and crowds who LISTENED to choose good behavior. But I think many non-religious people choose good behavior.
It's been 2000 years, and, happily, churches may choose to consider if not pursue Yeshua's influence.

Cleve, I woke up this morning with you and your family happily on my mind.

I'm 82 now and the most fortunate man alive, next to you. As you know, I survived lung cancer and removal of the 3rd lobe on the right lung, 4 heart surgeries including triple bypass in 2001, and a stroke last June. Happily, we sing to Cynthia's picture each night.
Recently, my sleep posture disturbed my left leg so severely I could neither walk in the park nor exercise there. I discovered and changed to relieve blood-flow restriction.
After 2 weeks at the park, I had an exhilarating hour there 2 days ago and resumed the feeling/perception that I'll enjoy another 40 years!
Please find a rewarding park and take your family there daily or as often as possible. The shear joy of being together in the sunlight is great, and each person can exercise as they like, yet play and ponder together.

A few more thoughts, drawing from the Bible and the laws of physics:

1. Genesis 1:1 informs that God created the universe (13.7 billion years ago, ya) and earth (4.6 billion ya). V2 informs that God's spirit covered the empty earth. V3 informs that God allowed goodness (light) on earth.
2. Genesis 1:26-28 informs that we are in God's image (are gods, one might surmise).
3. Psalm 82:6-7 informs we ARE gods but face death (unlike God).
4. The book of John, Chapter 10, Verse 34 gets that Homo sapiens are gods but misses the death difference from God.
5. Matthew 5:3-10 informs humility to goodness. V48 informs to pursue perfect behavior.
6. Matthew 19:5 informs that a man is spouse to his wife.
7. Matthew 18:18 informs that any consequences of the process to resolve human conflict (V 15-17) will not be corrected by God.

Larry, interestingly this morning I started an essay on humility.
The video you proffer features a guy with the arrogance to overlook that tyrants in Venezuela canceled international contracts with oil companies. Decades later, another tyrant squandered the commandeered oil business, in order to develop illegal-drug-dealing and impoverish Venezuelans who did not emigrate.
I turned the video off and encourage you to reconsider.
Whatever constrains the consequences of human choice (non-believers admit they don't know what that power is) seems to favor Donald Trump and his administration.

Homo sapiens, the remaining species of humankind, tends to choose good behavior, because evidence shows goodness rewards the doer. Some parents teach goodness and coach children to avoid, change, or resist badness, holding evil out of imagination. Humans divide themselves on goodness, badness, and invitation to death.

The newborn explores life using his or her interactions --- with delight when things work and dismay or delusion, when not. Guidance grounded in goodness helps.

Some institutions inform the adolescent about civic behavior plus necessary civil prevention then adjudication when someone is bad or annihilation if evil. Some institutions even teach that badness is inevitable and without relief on earth. Unfortunately, some institutions choose badness or evil.

The USA’s framers ordained and established a unique government: the United States republic. The people in their states duly ratified the negotiated Constitution, 235 years ago as of December 15. As expressed in its preamble and provisions for amendment, informed citizens collaborate to discover and practice goodness-which-motivates-good-behavior “to themselves and their posterity”. I call the collaborative faction “a civic people”. The world benefits from the USA’s consequential march to good behavior and statutory justice.

America inherited the English sentiment that democracy, while imperfect, is better than monarchy. Most states allow both majority representatives-election and some referenda. The framers observed that contemporary, local sentiment often promises social chaos rather than collaborative goodness. They guaranteed the United States republic through uniquely complex provisions like a bicameral legislature, Electoral College, and appointed Supreme Court.

Education departments in all endeavors, so far, fail to teach these principles. Many Americans spend no effort to be of the civic faction. Of course, I do not know the ineluctable truth, so I can only write my opinion. I think MSN started telling lies long ago. They don't realized that freedom of speech empowers civic citizens to recognize liars. "Civic" refers to appreciating each neighbor's opportunity to discover and practice good behavior.

Critics unintentionally accommodate liars by accusing them of hypocrisy rather recognizing wickedness or evil. Wickedness needs restriction that prompts reform, and evil demands annihilation.

These days, I am focused on yeshua, the 2800 year old Aramaic word for salvation and its common use as a name for newborns: Yeshua. A Hebrew equivalent was Yehoshua, which dominated Jewish literature 2400 years ago. Many newborns were named Yeshua when, 2000 years ago Aramaic-speaking Yosef and Miryam in Galilee named their son Yeshua.

The Galilean Yeshua did not write. He encouraged individuals and crowds to pursue good behavior. His socio-political influence was notable. Greeks wrote about him as Iesous, which in Latin is Iesus and in Syriac is Isho and in Islam is Isa; then, 400 years ago, Europeans used "Jesus".

2. Genesis 1:26-28 informs that we are in God's image (are gods, the student might surmise).
3. Psalm 82:6-7 informs we ARE gods but face death (unlike God).
4. The book of John, Chapter 10, V 34 repeats that Homo sapiens are gods but omits the death-unlikeness to God.
5. Matthew 5:3-10 informs humility to goodness. V 48 informs to pursue perfect behavior as a god facing death.
6. Matthew 19:5 informs that a man aids his wife (and in unity, their offspring).
7. Matthew 18:18 informs that God will not change consequences of the process to resolve human conflict (V 15-17), including egocentric forgiveness (skipping V 15).

In my message, I try to show that Trump policy addresses long-standing global competition. China abuses its people, Europe maintains rivalry, and others like war.
While detractors ignore "reciprocal" in Trump's "reciprocal tariffs", his policies encourage other nations to improve Homo sapiens performance in the world. What stands the test of time is the United States republic, the world's largest market for goods and services. I think goodness is emerging in the world.
I think civic Americans will continue to lead. "Civic" refers to citizens who appreciate and protect each other's opportunity to choose good behavior.

Again today, Notice today's announcement: Trump Announces New Trade Deal with India With Reduced Reciprocal Tariffs. For decades, India charged 100% tariffs on US goods. For example, Harley Davidson built a plant in India to avoid the Indian tariff. I think we'll see their stock tick up with this news. Yeah, President Trump.

I think "truth" is too loosely used and encourage the public to use an American pursuit: the ineluctable truth.
In American usage, "ineluctable" means: together, not to be avoided, or changed, or resisted; that is, all three constraints must be met. Europeans choose to omit the "changed" restriction. Bill Clinton applied that strategy when, as I recall, he said, "That depends on what the definition of is is", perhaps juxtaposing "sex" versus "submission", or such.
The civic faction may ask, "Why do so few fellow citizens know the word "ineluctable". I think the answer is, that English common law does all it can to keep subjects from understanding "ineluctable evidence", and America's pursuit of justice has not yet overcome European repression.

I encourage fellow citizens to make "ineluctable" a dominate feature of civic debate.

I like the idea behind Trump Accounts: influence each citizen to embrace capitalism and provide the chance for funds with which to start adulthood.
Also, the fund may and can be used to influence each recipient to understand the United States republic and its ultimate intentions: goodness-which-motivates-good-behavior.

Dear Mr. Vice-President:

Re: I doubt “play by the rules” influences egocentric people (wins mid-term votes).

Civic people pursue goodness "to ourselves and our Posterity", quoting the preamble.

 

In good government, civil injustice gets corrected by civic collaboration, where “civic” means humble pursuit of individual, personal opportunity. Whereas civil inhabitants observe the law, the civic faction additionally aids legislative amendment in order to lessen injustice discovered by citizens.

In the United States republic, the civic faction is We the People, as defined by the intentions-sentence in the preamble to the Constitution. My latest trust-in and commitment-to the preamble is: The civic faction in the United-States-republic continually improves 6 public practices: integrity, justice, safety, strength, prosperity, and responsibility --- “in order to” motivate good behavior “to ourselves and our Posterity”.

I think citizens who have no opinion about the preamble should not be allowed to vote. Without intentions, citizenship is not reliable.

Consider:  Religious rules divide the humankind the United States republic would unite. Born to Southern Baptist parents, I slowly discovered I am a non-believer. I became “unchurched” on November 2, 2025, when my Baptist fellows of 45 years slighted the May 17, 2025 passing of my wife of 56 years and mother of our three children. They had prayed for her during 5 bed-bound years. Their rationalization on 2025 “all souls day” is that, being Louisiana-French-Catholic, my spouse was not a member of the church. I cannot collaborate with church that slights my wonderful wife; slights me.

Likewise, it is not unusual for a citizen to be alienated by “play by the rules” respecting law, especially unjust law. Either “submit to” or “obey the” is worse than “play by”. Please consider an alternative phrase, in order to encourage citizens to engage unjust laws.

I suggest replacing “play by the rules” with “personally pursue good behavior”, or “uphold the law in order to discover and correct injustice”, or “uphold the law while suggesting improvement”, or “choose to aid statutory justice” or “pursue statutory justice”. I am certain you can choose an improvement.

Dear Mr. President:

Re: civic allegiance to the United States republic

Dear Sir, thank you for the administration you created. The Supreme Court’s tariff-folly (choosing to act) engaged your Excellence.

Your goodness prompts concern that Europe, and especially England, during 234 years, has not accepted the United States republic. Europeans do all they can to end the United States’ independent march to statutory justice. Statutory justice may be more essential than capitalism.

Especially egregious is a famous English quote, “Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.…” Europeans oppose America.

To counter these offenses, I have three suggestions. First, require media corporations/institutions to submit a statement to each elected President that they acknowledge if not appreciate the United States republic – to me, the American-civic-faction’s rule of law. Second, require each reporter who applies for the presidential press briefings to express, in writing, personal trust-in and commit-to the United-States-republic’s intentions, which are stated in the preamble to the Constitution. Third, revise the pledge of allegiance to “I pledge allegiance to the United States republic and to its flag . . .”

(Also, “responsibility” or “opportunity” could replace “liberty”.)

I continue sympathy to fellow citizens who overlook or oppose your humility, humor, and goodness.

Dear Mr. President:

Re: curing TDS by thanking the civic faction

Sir, thank you.

In my group of four friends who occasionally dined at each other’s homes and vacationed together with spouses, I was the only one, who among 14 million civic citizens voted for you to compete in 2016-Iowa primaries. The civic faction leads the MAGA base and the 85% of counties who voted for you in each 2016, 2020, and 2024.

In your State of the Union Address, please defuse the propaganda, “Trump derangement syndrome”, TDS, by recognizing the civic faction of United States citizens.

Protecting each the civil citizens, who uphold the rule of law; plus persuading dissidents and rebels; plus constraining criminals, illegal inhabitants and visiting aliens; while aiding annihilation of evil, the civic faction pursues statutory justice, in order to develop the United States republic. When injustice is discovered, the civic faction aids Constitutional amendment.

The civic faction ruins the DNC claim that they speak for the American people. The civic faction is We the People of the United States, because they trust-in and commit-to the intentions stated in the preamble to the Constitution. The civic faction pursues goodness “to ourselves and our Posterity”. Because good behavior according to the law is the expressed goal, humankind benefits.

In 2024, your brilliant “too big to rig” won the Trump-Vance presidency. We are grateful to the civic faction, We the People of the United States, and their commitment to goodness.

I do not want to lessen the world’s appreciation for your unique humility, unique humor, and unique Excellency. However, I would like to lessen TDS, in order to increase the happiness fellow citizens may enjoy under the Trump-Vance administration.

Born in June 1943, I attended Staub School from 1949 until 1955. I seem to recall Nina House was my math teacher.

     For some reason, I read Ralph Waldo Emerson's essay, "Self-Reliance". I occasionally reread it. The library featured a sky-blue biography series. I read a few, in order by the numbers, and noted some dislikes. So I started reading the first paragraph and the last to choose the next biography. I applied that principle to the complete Bible, KJV, and from the last page. I adolescently thought, "A writer/god so weak as to threaten readers cannot motivate me".

     In my 9th decade, I think civic-humans among religious believers and nonbelievers collaborate to discover and practice goodness-which-motivates-good-behavior "to ourselves and our Posterity" (quoting the preamble to the US Constitution). In the United States republic, "posterity" includes legal immigrants. Worldwide, "civic" expresses mutual opportunity to choose good behavior.

     I think most Staub-school classmates pursued goodness and am grateful for youth with them.

     I seem to recall a playground to the left and behind this picture. I think there was a drainage ditch behind the playground. The University of Tennessee campus was a walk away.

     My section, Lilly Avenue, was in walking distance to the upscale Rose Avenue area. There, I mowed the lawn for Mrs. Testerman, whose son, Kyle would become mayor. She played wonderful piano and required me to push the mower on only 50% uncut grass. A contemporary boy at Calvary Baptist Church (Yale Avenue), Victor Ashe, there with his mother, Martha, would also become mayor.

      I am grateful for my youth and would love to learn about it from anyone.

        Hello again on our 3rd anniversary for Isaiah 58.

        ”Civic” means collaborating for mutual opportunity to choose goodness rather than badness or evil. Since November 2, 2025, my public message has become:   Civic-Homo-sapiens collaborate where they are, during their generation, in order to discover and practice goodness-which-motivates-good-behavior "to ourselves and our Posterity" (goodenesswhich for short). This message is happily received by most hearers.

        So far, no one has improved goodnesswhich I listen. It’s deep. Order often results from chaos. Goodnesswhich may come as information, encouragement, and facilitation to the willing; or as statutory justice when there’s badness; or annihilation when there’s evil. Things/happenings may not be what they seem. Intention/hope often falls short of motivating goodness to defeat badness. Evil cannot be tolerated. Bad behavior often victimizes goodness. Ultimately ending badness is not expected.

        My regard for Nomads’ aid to my pursuit has never wavered. Today is close to the 3rd anniversary since, my February 26, 2023 post, “Isaiah 58: dependency, responsibility, self-interest& church versus the-good.         Back then, I wrote “the-good”. Since then, you helped me learn “Yeshua”, 2800 year old Aramaic for “salvation” or “to deliver”; Yeshua, a name used then;
Yehoshua in later Hebrew; then 2000 year old Greek Iesous, to the Latin Iesus; then 400 years ago in Europe, Jesus. Also, there’s late Old Testament prediction of Messiah, later debated as Christ.

It’s no surprise that “salvation” could ground so many names. See pfandercenter.org/blog/articles/the-origins-of-the-name-isa. Notwithstanding the resulting ethnicities and unassociated ones, there are civic factions within each nation. 

Everywhere I go, anytime I can, I offer unchurched collaboration with civic citizens for “goodness-which-motivates-good-behavior” rather than division over mystery. Occasionally conversation goes far enough for me to share appreciation to Nomads or UBC.
