"Civic" refers to citizens who collaborate for individual happiness with civic integrity more than for the city, state, nation, or society.

Consider writing a personal paraphrase of the preamble, which offers fellow citizens mutual equality:  For discussion, I convert the preamble’s predicate phrases to nouns and paraphrase it for my interpretation of its proposal as follows:  "The good People of these" united states facilitate and encourage five civic disciplines---integrity, justice, peace, strength, and prosperity, "in order to” develop responsible human-independence “to ourselves and our Posterity.”I want to improve my interpretation by listening to other citizens and their interpretations yet would preserve the original, 1787, text, unless it is amended by the people.

It seems the Supreme Court occasionally refers to it, and no one has challenged whether or not the preamble is a legal statement. The fact that it changed this independent country from a confederation of states to a union of states deliberately managed by disciplined fellow citizens convinces me the preamble is legal. Equity in opportunity and outcome is shared by the people who collaborate for human justice.

Every citizen has equal opportunity to either trust-in and collaborate-on the goals stated in the preamble or be dissident to the agreement. I think 2/3 of citizens try somewhat to use the preamble but many do not articulate commitment to the goals. However, it seems less than 2/3 understand that “posterity” implies grandchildren. “Freedom of religion,” which fellow citizens have no means to discipline, oppresses freedom to develop integrity.

The proposition proffered in the 1787 U.S. Constitution is to develop statutory justice so that the individual citizen may constrain chaos in her or his way of living. This proposition is consistent with the humility expressed in the 1776 declaration of war for independence from England as well as the 4500 year-old separation of church and state in Genesis 1:27-28---political philosophy from about 700 years before Abraham was born.

The collective proposition offers civic citizens the opportunity to develop responsible-human-independence under five disciplines: integrity, justice, peace, strength, and prosperity. Dissidents are encouraged and facilitated to reform rather than coerced/forced into “consent of the governed”.

However, by partnering with religion, and making the partnership civil in the First Amendment, Congress, with the Court’s affirmation, promotes religious-opinion rather than the humble-integrity the 1787 Constitution and necessity demands.

The humans who live in a society observe three types of laws: physics and its progeny, humble-integrity in civic-connections, and civil license.

In physics, just as a civic-person moves to high ground when a tsunami is predicted, they do not lie, so as to lessen human misery and loss.

In humble-integrity, a civic-person neither initiates nor tolerates harm to or from any person or society.

In civil license, a civic-person earns the life-style they want and pays taxes including those for law enforcement systems, maintains awareness of the law, and observes the law even if they are acting to amend a statute to lessen injustice. More people could live this way.

Human-beings have the individual power, the individual energy, and the individual authority (HIPEA) to develop the humble-integrity needed for responsible-human-independence. Unfortunately, no society teaches this principle, so infidelity to physics and its progeny is broad and deep.

The U.S. proffered a culture of responsible-human-independence, but so far, the entity We the People of the United States has not decided to establish discovery of humble-integrity to “ourselves and our Posterity”. Maybe fellow-citizens of 2021 will decide to end government-promotion of civil religious-opinion in order to encourage and facilitate civic integrity.

It is critical that each human-being have the opportunity to constrain chaos in their way of living. I call those who do “civic-citizens” and their practice “responsible-human-independence (RHI). Some persons do not accept these principles. For example, some people perceive that civic-citizens tolerate crime, tyranny, civil religion, war, and other “government by consent”. Deep thinkers devise ways to harness the civic power (good will) by creating law enforcement that benefits the system’s creators, often referred to as “elites”. They pretend to protect the people, by licensing privileges as “rights”.

In reality, as we saw in the summer of 2020, licensing liberty protects neither life, independence, property, nor the pursuit of happiness. Blood in the streets happened before. The French motto, interpreted “liberty equality and fraternity”, excited the “bloody revolution” of 1789. The statute in New York Harbor can be renamed “The Statue of Independence”.

Among the elites who effect the tyranny of “rights” is the continuum since 1788 of U.S. Congresspersons plus justices on the U.S. Supreme Court, who maintain in the First Amendment, civil support for religious opinion. In civic integrity, U.S. elites would encourage and facilitate the RHI to constrain chaos in self-interest.

Obviously, neither Congress nor the Court is interested in equal protection of humble-integrity. Reform can be effected only by the entity We the People of the United States. We, “ourselves and our Posterity” of 2021 must amend the First Amendment before 2022 emerges so as to discourage any elected or appointed official in the U.S. from taking action to lessen the individual right to constrain chaos in living.

Two key words, informed by Merriam-Webster Online:

Attenuate: “to lessen the amount, force, magnitude, or value of [or] to reduce the severity, virulence, or vitality of”.

Fundamentalism: “a movement in 20th century Protestantism emphasizing the literally interpreted Bible as fundamental to Christian life and teaching”.

With these definitions, I perceive and hope that my experience and observations could help. Please let me know if I misunderstand.

Geek that I am, I married a classic beauty and am still wooing her after 53 years, 51 married with 3 children. She helped me discover that my adolescent psychology committed to the-ineluctable-truth, most of which is yet undiscovered. My Dad and Mom was each a loyal Southern Baptist and such dividedly-good providers that I struggled until age 50 to fulfill their competitive hopes. That was a quarter century ago and a quarter century into marriage with the most serenely confident person I ever knew.

I had decided, perhaps 10 years earlier, that I do not want responsibility for anyone’s soul (I think a metaphysical entity) except mine. I am prepared for my afterdeath, but do not wish to share with anyone. I relinquished the idea of proselytizing, later than I wish.

I came home from a Baptist Sunday-school, having discussed the difference between God and Jesus, focused on John 6:37-39 (CJB, if I may): “Everyone the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will certainly not turn away. For I have come down from heaven to do not my own will but the will of the One who sent me. And this is the will of the One who sent me: that I should not lose any of all those he has given me but should raise them up on the Last Day.”

My wife never rejected civic (human-connection) discussion. I asked her, “What is the difference between God and Jesus?”

She quickly responded, “There is no difference.”

Reading the passage, I asked, “How, then do you explain Jesus referring to “the One who sent me”?

She said, “I don’t have to explain to draw comfort and hope from mystery.”

I got down on my knees and apologized for past hope to change the person I had fallen in love with. She smiled and touched my right cheek to invite me to stand. She said, “There’s nothing to forgive: my faith is a mystery and it is mine.”

I said, “I’m just glad you waited 25 years for me to authentically appreciate you.”

I’ve tried to mend my errors ever since. I asked her if she wishes I had converted to Louisiana-French Catholicism, and she said, “No.”

I think diversity is a concept that can only increase chaos on earth. However, appreciating a spouse requires comprehending the doctrine that gives them hope against the unknowns, especially their afterdeath. I’d like to mention one other Bible interpretation worthy of consideration.

Genesis 1 seems a primitive political philosophy that the-God of Genesis 1 (4500 years old and thus before Abraham, who spawned the world’s prolific religious divisions) assigned responsibility for the earth to humankind or separated civics from religion. In my 2021 view, Genesis 1:27-28 says:  Female&male-human-being necessarily constrain chaos in their way of living. Thus, an individual who commits to another in monogamy for life does the work required to preserve their self-interest.

The human experience makes it plain that necessity demands discipline. The individual who tries to resist the demand, invites failure, perhaps fatality. For example, persons who tried to take off like a bird failed, and ones who tried feather-flying from a precipice perished. But with aerodynamics, people fly, and with jet propulsion they explore the planets.

More than ideology or comprehension, the human experience and observation is:  The humble-integrity needed to avoid infidelity to the-ineluctable-truth demands responsible-human-independence (RHI). That’s not a shallow sentence.

This physics-necessity was suggested as early as 4500 years ago in ancient terms--an assignment from the-God of creation. After that, many deep thinkers perceived personal gain by scheming to persuade their people, their tribe, that deep-thinkers represent the-God and can, through metaphysical-doctrine, dominate other tribes. Thereby, most people are distracted from the RHI needed to lessen individual failure. Wanting to enjoy life, they leave it to deep-thinkers to provide peace. But physics and its progeny, including biology and psychology, do not conform to metaphysics.

The consequence is the global chaos of 2021. Today, there are more affluent people who enslave themselves to sex than ever before. I know of one proffered, unestablished culture of public discipline: the 1787-proposed United States. The U.S. chaos of 2021 can be reformed by accepting that 4500 year-old political philosophy as updated U.S. intention for an achievable better future to be developed by the continuum “ourselves and our Posterity”.

Since 4500 years ago is perhaps 700 years before Abraham was born, neither Judaism nor Islam (which emerged with Hagar’s son and Sara’s son, respectively, nor Christianity, also from Sara, each in abundant, competitive sects) can justify independent claim to Genesis-1 politics: the-God (whatever that entity may be) assigned to humankind the sole responsibility for civic-order on earth. (Civic refers to human-connection more than municipal-conformity.) The recorded, interpreted text, Genesis 1:27-28, NIV, is:  “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.’” In my 2021 view, the meaning is: female&male-human-being must, without metaphysics (that is to say grounded in the-ineluctable-evidence), constrain chaos on earth. There’d be less chaos if Abraham had been aware of fidelity-for-life to family.

Skipping events until 1763 when the British Empire motivated perhaps 40% of Eastern-seaboard colonial-American inhabitants to rebel and eventually make arrangements for independence.

The USA-founders, in the 1776 declaration of war against England expressed humble-integrity toward both metaphysics and physics. Intentionally or not, they conformed to the Genesis-1 RHI. Without disparaging England’s reformed-Catholic Trinity, they citied “Nature and Nature’s God” to affirm the intentions of “the good People of these Colonies”. Also, in 1778, the founders appealed for French military providence. Under military power, “the Supreme Judge of the world”, Cornwallis surrendered to France and the Continental Army at Yorktown, VA in 1781. In 1784, the 13 free and independent states ratified the 1783 Treaty of Paris. However, domestic disorder prevailed among the states.

In 1787, 12 states sent delegates to Philadelphia. They framed a Union of states, stronger than a confederacy. The framers designed the world’s first federal-republic with the good people holding both their state and the Union accountable to public discipline. The proposed proposition was proffered in the five-day-old preamble, and 39 of the 55 delegates became signers on September 17, 1787. Not one word of the 1787 U.S. Constitution lessens the humble-integrity of either the 1776 Declaration or the 4500 year old Genesis-1 separation of church and state.

So far, the U.S. intentions have failed, not by social construct, but by the unconstitutional specification of a religion-Congress partnership in the First Amendment. To remedy this tyranny against 4500 year-old known-necessity, the 2021 “ourselves and our Posterity” must amend the First Amendment so as to encourage and facilitate civic integrity rather than religious opinion. Further, We the People of the United States must hold the U.S. Supreme Court accountable to the preamble’s proffered proposition: erroneous English precedent cannot be tolerated.

In other words, conservatism’s job is to preserve necessity’s responsible-human-independence rather than religious chaos.

As I comprehend things, proposing obligation to defend another’s human rights is a violation of necessity. A human being is obligated to constrain chaos in his or her life: not to invite woe.

Every human being began as a viable ovum in a woman’s womb. The woman may be an authentic human being or may care nothing for her body; may be stoned or in other way abusive to her viable ova; may be sexually intimate with a male who cares nothing for either her or her ova.

Respecting her privacy and mine, I neither consider nor inquire, whether or not she is fertile, caring for her viable ova, in a relationship, or practices abortion. I have no obligation beyond being a citizen who practices and facilitates responsible-human-independence (RHI). That includes practicing and helping develop law-enforcement according to statutory justice under the-ineluctable-evidence rather than under erroneous legal-precedent.

Human-beings are without excuse regarding RHI, because it was suggested by a Middle-Eastern philosopher some 4500 years ago and recorded in Genesis 1:27-28. Social change refers to any significant alteration over time in behavior patterns and cultural values and norms. By “significant” alteration, sociologists mean changes yielding profound social consequences.

Culture change is a term used in public policy-making that emphasizes the influence of cultural capital on individual and community behavior. It has been sometimes called repositioning of culture, which means the reconstruction of the cultural concept of a society.

Thus, social change is within a society, whereas cultural change may address the community of societies. Yet both definitions seem coercive. For example, humankind, which, for survival, must address the-ineluctable-evidence, mostly inculcates in its youth the individual pursuit of a higher power—-rarely whatever-God-is and usually a doctrinal God; or a preferred government; or the partnership of a doctrinal God and a government. But different societies promote different institutional Gods. In a culture of civic integrity, every society reserves enough humility toward whatever-God-is to appreciate responsible-human-independence.

Individuals possess (but may not accept) the personal authority to responsibly pursue their preferences. Thus, public policy may not have the power to influence the individual who accepts individual authority and practices it with humble-integrity. If so, their personal change comes slowly/deliberately.

I exercise my individual authority to resist society’s coercion when I deem it erroneous. And I don’t cut society much slack when they try to rebuke physics or its progeny, such as biology and psychology.

I write to establish collaboration for civic integrity rather than for social coercion. I think civic integrity may be commonplace in the near future. If the majority of individuals in their social groups practice civic integrity, they will establish an overall culture of civic integrity wherein other pursuits, such as the religious societies or the spectator-sports societies may flourish without imposing on non-fan-fellow-citizens.

The crime society may decline, because the civic society, We the People of the United States, in the U.S., motivates and facilitates criminals to change. What seems coercive yet is a human tendency is self-interest in fidelity to civic integrity. People may measure civic integrity by humble-integrity. Supreme Court Justices can practice and facilitate the rule of the-ineluctable-evidences rather than preserve erroneous precedential-human-constructs. The U.S. can develop statutory justice according to the continuum of discovery by “ourselves and our Posterity”.

I think social change is an urge to reform and cultural change is a development empowered by discovery of mutual self-interest. Civic people can connect so as to effect personal change in order to approach humble-integrity. Thus, each may responsibly pursue the happiness they perceive rather than subjugate to someone else’s vision for them.

It’s a political view constructed by enlightenment deep-thinkers. That is to say, people who just want mutual, comprehensive safety and security so that fellow-citizens can live in peace, in order to responsibly pursue individual preference rather than submit to someone else’s vision for them. I call them civic-citizens.

I don’t think so. Human life is too short to know it all. It’s better to take the easy way, self-disciplined as it may be.

I think parents should appreciate and practice the basics. The difficulty is that this world does not like it when they do.

But this world can be reformed fast if most individuals recognized that the world is split by dedication, perhaps 1/6 to the-good, 5/12 mindful, ¼ careless, and 1/12 to the-bad. That is, 7/12 tending to the-good and 5/12 tolerating infidelity. Of course, my quantification is speculation.

Seep-thinkers see advantage in bemusing people who just-want-to-live-a-good life to expect that their government or the-God will eventually provide peace. Unfortunately, most people take their-God as the-God, not considering that the-God may not be pleased. Gullible people inculcate this attitude in their children, so it is passed on from generation to generation until chaos turns the dream into woe. Many in this, the 2021 generation of the U.S. “ourselves and our Posterity” wonder how their grandchildren will cope in this divergent chaos.

What are the basics of self-interest to a human being?

First, at some point the person must appreciate and accept being a human. With coaching and encouragement, this could happen at age 3 to 7 or more. Each human is unique (thus none is equal).

Second, the coached and encouraged person may appreciate and accept their human potential: the individual power, the individual energy, and the individual authority (HIPEA) to develop humble-integrity rather than tolerate infidelity to self. With humble-integrity the person may gauge personal-integrity and develop responsible-human-independence (RHI). Those who use HIPEA to the-good have the potential to approach perfection of their person before they die.

Third, the person who acquires the comprehension and intention to live a chronologically and psychologically complete life accepts that statistical variations in physics and its progeny, psychology, causes some fellow-citizens to exercise HIPEA for dependence, aware or not. For example, some develop the belief that crime pays. Citizens with RHI neither initiate nor tolerate harm to or from any person or society. Therefore, they develop statutory justice so that law-enforcement is encouraging dependent fellow-citizens to reform.

The essence of these principles is that female&male-human-being constrains chaos on earth, independent of the-God. So far, humankind has increased rather than lessened chaos. The principles may be gleaned from three extant documents:  Genesis 1, perhaps expressed by a Sumerian political philosopher some 4500 years ago (before the divisions and dividing branches of each Judaism, Christianity, and Islam); by the USA founders in their 1776 declaration of war against England; and by the signers (2/3 of the framers) of the 1787 U.S. Constitution for domestic order.

Ignoring the infamous Salem “witch” executions (22) they codified their religion-Congress partnership in the First Amendment. This tyranny over the humble-integrity that is necessary for RHI has prevailed ever since, inviting reprehension for ignoring Genesis 1, the 1776 Deliration, and the 1787 Constitution. Mike Pence re-called the tyranny.

In my view, Congress and the Supreme Court invited the chaos the Democrat Party is delivering. The Court stonewalls speech that opposes the religious tyranny. I have been a “niggling” outsider most of my life. My offense as I view it is that I trust-in and commit-to the-ineluctable-evidence as a matter of RHI. I reserve sufficient humility to the-God by not committing to any doctrinal or institutional God.

That brings me to my bold speculation about the culprit of January 6, 2021: V.P. Mike Pence. Here’s my story. The book says that Jesus said both “Render unto Caesar . . . “ and “Before Abraham was born I AM.” Students think Abraham, myth or not, appeared about 3800 years ago, 700 years after Genesis-1’s politics. It’s metaphysically possible that Jesus both advocates for the U.S. Commander in Chief and authored Genesis 1.

On January 4, in Georgia, Mike Pence said he had President Trump’s back, that voters would have their say on January 6, and then witnessed for Jesus Christ. (In the first place, no man can witness for Christ and not employ the teachings, mysterious as they may be.) Then on January 6 before noon, Pence betrayed the U.S. Commander in Chief and his former running mate. Pence said he would approve contested Electoral College votes for 2 states.

The already ill-intentioned portion of the crowd did not like Pence’s revocation. Scholarly minds castigate Trump and erroneously give Pence a Christian pass. I doubt Jesus grants that pass or supports the tyranny.

It is time to amend the First Amendment so as to encourage and facilitate civic integrity rather than promote religious opinion. We, the “ourselves and our Posterity” of 2021 need this accomplished before 2022 emerges.

I think conservatives are charged with the-responsible-human-independence to effect this U.S. reform.
