Phil Beaver seeks to collaborate on the-objective-truth, which can only be discovered. The comment box below invites readers to write.
"Civic"
refers to citizens who collaborate for individual
happiness with civic integrity more than for the city, state, nation, or
society.
Consider writing a personal
paraphrase of the preamble, which offers fellow citizens mutual equality: For discussion, I convert the preamble’s predicate phrases to nouns and
paraphrase it for my interpretation of its proposal as follows: "The good People of these" united
states facilitate and encourage five civic disciplines---integrity, justice,
peace, strength, and prosperity, "in order to” develop responsible
human-independence “to ourselves and our Posterity.”I want to improve my interpretation by listening to
other citizens and their interpretations yet would preserve the original, 1787,
text, unless it is amended by the people.
It seems the
Supreme Court occasionally refers to it, and no one has challenged whether or
not the preamble is a legal statement. The fact that it changed this
independent country from a confederation of states to a union of states
deliberately managed by disciplined fellow citizens convinces me the preamble
is legal. Equity in opportunity and outcome is shared by the people who
collaborate for human justice.
Every citizen
has equal opportunity to either trust-in and collaborate-on the goals stated in
the preamble or be dissident to the agreement. I think 2/3 of citizens try somewhat
to use the preamble but many do not articulate commitment to the goals.
However, it seems less than 2/3 understand that “posterity” implies
grandchildren. “Freedom of religion,” which fellow citizens have no means to
discipline, oppresses freedom to develop integrity.
Selected theme from this week
Civil rights detract from self-interest: civic
responsibilities
Individuals who accept being a human-being need the right to
develop humble-integrity, in order to responsibly pursue the happiness they
perceive at each stage of their life rather than submit-to the rights
government may bestow.
Several essays this week address rights.

by Jannah Harrissa Ampatuan
I’m thinking of 3 for your information.
First, humble-integrity is grounded in
the-ineluctable-truth, and ethics for humankind is journaled by the discovery&practice
of its responsibility.
Second, I accept that I am a human-being with the individual
power, individual energy, and individual authority (HIPEA) to develop
humble-integrity, in order to behave with responsible-human-independence.
Third, as a civic citizen, I neither initiate nor tolerate
injury to any person or property.
https://www.quora.com/Compared-to-your-parents-generation-do-you-see-progress-made-in-human-rights?
by Amanda Quach
I don’t think so.
In the first place, nobody is demanding the only human-right
that matters: The opportunity to develop
the humble-integrity that is necessary&just, in-order-to
practice&encourage responsible-human-independence.
Especially most elected and appointed officials in the U.S.,
both state and national, neither know nor are curious about humble-integrity.
And, so far, We the People of the United States seem to tolerate the tyranny,
perhaps confident that ultimately, their-God will relieve their descendants of
the loss and misery.
Although my expressions may be new (they’re mine), I am not
suggesting something that wasn’t expressed before. An ancient philosopher
suggested, I think, that female&male-human-being can and must independently
order&harmonize the earth. Someone reported the suggestion as the word of
the-God represented in Genesis 1:26-28. Many people beg the-God to assume their
responsibility to constrain chaos in their life. It seems self-evident: the-God
will not usurp human-responsibility.
Civil rights cannot undo civic responsibilities.
FB add on: The suggestion that civil rights cannot
supplant civic responsibilities is not new: Each person is charged to constrain
chaos in their way of living.
Of all the observations humankind has made as of May 7,
2021, it is that no man or institution represents the-God. Their God, a
doctrinal-God, mystery, tyranny, arrogance, evil, yes. But supplant the-God with
human-hate? No. I’ve earned the opinion that to attempt to define the-God
invites woe. I think it is prudent to reserve humility about the-God and
represent self. Consequently, I declare both that 1) I think humankind is
working to discover the laws of physics&its-progeny and hence responsibly
apply the basis of necessity&justice in human living and 2) I know; perhaps
Jesus of Nazareth is the-God. Consequently, I am prepared to be judged by Jesus
or his agent.
Let’s assume the various literature called “The Holy Bible” began
as the-God’s word some 4,500 years ago. After Jesus died 2,500 years later,
people started writing some 70 years after his death. Groups interpreted the
writing and chose books that support their way of thinking and canonized their
Bible. For example, Genesis 1:2, “. . . the Spirit of God was
hovering over the waters” is an interpretation that pleases the group. I
have the impression that the Tewahedo canon, which has the most books, is older
than the Catholic canon if you omit the Jewish literature therein.
It follows that cannon that include Genesis-1 must contain
books that either affirm the-God or illustrate a competitor. Thus, to
comprehend the word of the-God, the student must comprehend each book’s
divinity as either comporting to the-God or not. I don’t know the-God’s truth,
but I like the Genesis-1 message that humankind is independently charged to
provide peace on earth.
In Genesis-1, it seems the-God is dividing responsibilities:
female&male-human-being has the power, energy, authority and responsibility
to constrain chaos on earth, says the creator. Perhaps 2,500 years after
Genesis-1’s message was available, human groups and races had created so much
chaos on earth that the-God decided to update the message, so they visited as a
man: Jesus. Referring to Genesis-1, I don’t know if “they” represents
female&male image or the-God and the-God’s spirit.
https://www.quora.com/What-would-a-society-without-laws-be-like?
by Aayush Mahera
I think without legislation so far, life would be worse than
it is, primarily because laws helped humankind discover and innovate. But it seems
physics&progeny and necessity&justice conform to the same laws, so
legislation must reform.
I appreciate your profound question. Today’s chaos suggests
that legislation is miss-directed. In other words, homo sapiens progressed, and
legislation must reform to the laws of physics and its progeny. That is, reason
is insufficient to keep pace with human progress. In legal terms, precedent delays
if not impedes the discovery of necessity&justice.
Paleoanthropologists suggest that humankind-appearance we
know may be 300,000 years old, while hominids made tools 2.8 million years ago.
Most of humankind’s technological accomplishment came in the last 200 years if
not the last 600 years. We’re on Mars 50 years after the moon landing! In other
words, the discovery of human psychological power has been exponential. It
might not be exaggeration to speculate that the chaos we are in is due to
crisis in constitutions. If, so, the constitutions must be reformed. Not ruined,
but improved to conform-to physics rather than reason.
Physics&progeny, including biology&psychology,
evolve according to the laws of physics. Humankind, with its superior awareness
and grammar, works to discover and responsibly-use physics. Without humankind,
physics would take a different path. Because humankind and its individuals have
the power, energy, and authority (HIPEA) to discover perceptible facts, they
can alter events. However, the consequence of human action follows the laws of
physics, not the reasonableness of the action taken. For example, a person who
rationalizes befriending a tiger may fall prey to tiger-psychology.
Humankind’s progress seems controlled by two major
variables: the-ineluctable-truth according to temporal-evolution and
accomplished-human-perception. Humans can influence events, and the outcome is
ineluctable, due to the laws of physics. I think the laws of physics are fixed,
but they are functioning in an imperfect exchange between potential-energy and
mass&kinetic-energy. Some potential energy is lost in the exchange and some
change is irreversible. For example, it seems emergence of the dinosaurs came
with an increase in air’s oxygen content from 15% to 19% about 230 million
years ago, and died off in atmospheric-temperature rise and other consequences
of a cosmic collision 65 million years ago.
It seems there’s more to learn than what is known, and
human perception cannot be taken as knowledge. Nevertheless, the body of
knowledge is so immense only the most accomplished person in a field can be expected
to inform other humans, and the instructor is prudent to confirm “But I don’t
know” when that is true. Thus, even if an individual could consult with the
most accomplished human, they could not resolve the unknowns. I look first to
Wikipedia, and when I find an error, I correct it. In other words, Wikipedia is
an imperfect journal of accomplished-human-perception, waiting for correction.
Now, add to all these considerations that fact that the
wonderful opportunity a newborn human-being has is nearly impossible to
accomplish: Each newborn has the HIPEA
to develop humble-integrity to their self and through
responsible-human-independence, approach perfecting their unique person before
death nears. However, they must take charge of acquiring the comprehension and
intention to use HIPEA to develop humble-integrity during their first
quarter-century, use more than the next quarter century in earning the
life-style they desire to develop fidelity to the-ineluctable-evidences, and in
retirement share appreciation with fellow citizens. No one, not even the living
“ourselves and our Posterity” can advise the newborn how to perfect their self.
I think it would be sufficient to journal humankind’s
discoveries and proposals so that everyone can read where humankind stands
regarding the-ineluctable-truth. Also, establish a culture that
encourages&facilitates the development of civic humble-integrity. Then, the
good people, here, We the People of the United States could hold legislators to
the-ineluctable-truth when discovered and “I don’t know” when their opinion
would threaten necessity&justice.
I think a better future is achievable. There will always
be people who think crime pays, so legislation according to
the-ineluctable-truth rather than rational-precedent will remain a necessity.
FB add on: Many legislators, judges, and voters attempt to rationalize
against physics&its-progeny. We the People of the United States must hold
arrogant-officials accountable-to necessity&justice rather than continue to
tolerate tyranny&dependency. The first official of the U.S. is the
fellow-citizen. Citizens must be held accountable for their vote: do they
accept being a human-being&fellow-citizen or do they prefer to risk
dissidence&alienation, dependency&tyranny; do they act on civil hope or
civic appreciation?
https://www.quora.com/Does-every-child-have-the-right-to-be-raised-well-and-become-contributing-members-of-society?
by Ronald Manlangit
Absolutely, and necessity&justice demands that
fellow-citizens assure every child the encouragement&facilitation to
perfect their unique person before they die.
My expression may be novel, but the proposal is not at all
new. For example, an ancient philosopher expressed it their way. It is recorded
in Genesis 1:26-28 (CJB):
“Then God said, ‘Let us make humankind in our image, in the likeness of ourselves;
and let them rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the animals,
and over all the earth, and over every crawling creature that crawls on the
earth.’ So God created humankind in his own image; in the image of God he
created him:
male and
female he created them. God blessed them: God said to them, ‘Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and
subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the air and every living
creature that crawls on the earth.’”
The essence of this message, to me, is that
female&male-human-being has the independent power, energy, and authority
(HIPEA) to order&harmonize life on earth. Whether compelled by
necessity&justice or by the-God, the responsibility for peace on earth is
to humankind. For humankind to accept this responsibility, each individual is
compelled to self-discipline.
However, it takes at least a quarter century for a student to
acquire the comprehension&intention to initiate a psychologically-mature human
life, more than a quarter-century in a profession to facilitate personal
development, and any remaining time to reflect&approach their person’s
unique perfection.
Unfortunately, most nations focus on the-God mystery and attempt
to impose on their-doctrinal-God the human-duty to establish their society’s
security&peace. The consequence is the chaos we are experiencing in 2021.
The chaos is divergent: “the rule of law” under the U.S. Constitution is being
ignored by the Democrat Party.
This does not at all mean that we, the “ourselves and our
Posterity” of the year 2021 need to turn to a God, such as whatever is meant by
“In God We Trust”. What fellow-citizens need is a nest of acceptances:
Each student and adult is encouraged to choose to develop a
responsibly-independent human-being. Dissidents are constrained from aiding
chaos.
Each education department reforms in-order-to: a) encourage&facilitate
development of civic humble-integrity rather than civil religious-opinion,
leaving religion to adult privacy b) to aid the students’ self-interest to
acquire the comprehension they need to develop their human-being during an
adult career and c) to form civic relationships in mutual appreciation for
humble-integrity; by example, encourage dissidents to consider humble-integrity.
The entity We the People of the United States hold both state and
federal officials accountable, first, as fellow-citizens, and second, as
defenders of the U.S. purpose as they claim in their election platform or
public-service resume.
In my view the U.S. purpose is to encourage&facilitate each
citizen’s responsible pursuit of the happiness they perceive at each stage of
their life rather than submit to the vision someone else has for them. The
tradition “liberty” in usual practice license either bestowed by the victor in
war or taken by mobs, so the aim must reform to “responsible-human-independence
instead of “secure the Blessings of Liberty”. And the 5 public disciplines must
be made plain. In my view, they are: integrity, justice, peace, strength, and
prosperity. Plainly, religion Is not a public discipline, and that is why the
framers omitted it. Further, there are no standards for the disciplines,
because the past generations were not aware of either the challenges physics
and its progeny would present to the living “ourselves and our Posterity” or
the psychological skills they would possess.
Fellow-citizens who take no interest in the U.S. purpose and its
relevance to the Genesis-1 political philosophy (humankind is independently
responsible for peace on earth) ought not receive a license to procreate.
Dissidents against the U.S. purpose ought not receive a license to vote.
Especially, with “ourselves and our Posterity” already in
political chaos and now exposed to indefinite pandemic, the time for
responsible-human-independence, the neglected U.S. intention, has arrived.
FB add on: Humankind’s failure to accept responsibility
to assure the woman’s viable ova their opportunity to acquire the
humble-integrity to develop their unique human-being defies
necessity&justice if not the-God of Genesis-1.
https://www.quora.com/Do-you-think-the-privilege-of-wealth-helped-establish-enlightened-thinking?
by Graham C Lindsay
I don’t think so. Philanthropy is a way to
substitute an ideology for necessity&justice, and the power of philanthropy
is gained through wealth. Consider the Church’s political power.
Galileo discovered that the earth is
neither the center of the universe nor of our galaxy. He feared for his life,
and the information was suppressed for 400 years.
Also, Machiavelli wrote in irony so that
he could communicate with fellow citizens and not lose his life to politicians
and clergy. Consider “The Prince” Chapter XI wherein Machiavelli says only a
fool would object to the church-state partnership then gives an example in which
the Church accumulates enough wealth to defeat all the princes. Machiavelli
“hopes” Church dominance will continue, I think to save his life yet express
his objections. Scholars who don’t consider the irony may miss his message.

by Graham C Lindsay
When the information has no value to the
questioner, civil imposition for answers is tyranny.
For example, “Do you believe in God?” is
not a civil question. In a civic conversation, it can be an interesting
question, if both parties consent.
https://www.quora.com/Rushworth-Kidder-has-said-standard-definitions-of-ethics-have-typically-included-such-phrases-as-the-science-of-the-ideal-human-character-or-the-science-of-moral-duty-What-does-ethics-mean-to-you-and-can-a-person-be?
by Graham C Lindsay
To me, ethics means saying “I don’t know” when that is the
fact. Further, if knowing is critical, it’s doing the work to discover
the-ineluctable-truth, if known.
For example, the sun doesn’t rise in the morning. Further,
it’s doing the work to know how to responsibly use the-ineluctable-truth.
Again, the earth’s rotation on its axis hides the sun each evening and unhides
it each morning. The surface speed due to rotation is 1000 mph, and we are
firmly on the ground due to gravity balancing the centrifugal force.
The expression “Once more, the earth’s rotation unhides the
sun” is enriching to those who haven’t heard it. And observing the appearance
of traversing the heavens is awesome when you realize the ground you are on is
rotating that fast.
Is my-God the-God? I don’t know and may learn.
https://www.quora.com/Thomas-Hobbes-said-Where-there-is-no-common-power-there-is-no-law-Where-no-law-no-justice-What-do-you-think-is-he-correct/answer?
by Graham C Lindsay
I am glad I discovered this question late.
Hobbes is incorrect. Many laws are unjust.
For example, in Ramos v Louisiana, the Court opined 6:3 that
states must provide 12:0 criminal jury verdicts. They cited a 14th century
English precedent to negate the 1787 U.S. Constitution and the 1791 Amendment VI
right of states to provide impartial jury verdicts. With its Napoleonic-Law
influences, Louisiana, in 1880 established 9:3 criminal verdicts, because
public statistics favor impartiality with a non-unanimous verdict. (This does
not hold for the Supreme Court, since they only consider the arguments
presented rather than all facts.) Ironically, England mimicked Louisiana in
1967, establishing 10:2 verdicts in order to lessen organized-crime’s influence
on jury trials.
I only recently earned my opinion that the rule of law is
tyranny against necessity&justice and thus tyranny against the people.
Humankind continuously works to discover the laws of physics
and its progeny including biology and psychology. Further, they work to
responsibly use the laws.
Discovery is so efficient we are now exploring Mars. The
laws of physics do not react to the research, and researchers who insist on
their expectations beg woe.
In contrast, humankind’s efforts to comprehend civics,
defined here as necessary and just human connections, seem to be regressing
into divergent chaos.
I think there are two chief causes of the divergence: theism
and the rule of law. Beginning about 500 years ago, European thinkers
considered nature (physics) v reason, and concluded that reason is empowered by
metaphysics. Researchers had not yet demonstrated that understanding the laws
of physics is an iterative process wherein perception constrains progress and
often awaits invention of new instruments. Thus, new perceptions with recently
invented instruments position metaphysicians to posit that reason is more
powerful than research. However, metaphysics has a serious problem. When reason
is erroneous, physics eventually discloses the error.
For example, Albert Einstein thought the universe was
static. When his mathematical brilliance produced a dynamic model, he
introduced a “cosmological factor” to deny his own excellence. Ten years later,
Edwin Hubble proved the universe is dynamic and expanding. Einstein called his
fudge factor his greatest blunder. There’s worse pride.
Assume that the Holy Bible is the word of the-God and that
Genesis 1, written to represent a Sumerian political philosopher about 4,500
years ago, represents the-God. It follows that all the subsequent Gods
championed by warring tribes must somehow be either the-God or in-conflict with
the-God (or the Bible is not the word of the-God).
Genesis 1:27–28 states that the Sumerian’s God, perhaps
the-God, assigned to humankind the independent-responsibility for
order&harmony on earth. Groups of humans who do not accept this
responsibility invite woe. And groups that try to consign to the-God their
responsibility for peace are arrogant&proud—express no humility toward
the-God.
By choosing the rule of law built on reason and metaphysics
instead of necessity&justice according to physics and its progeny, the
Europeans attempted to avoid the demands of Genesis 1:27–28: independently
constrain chaos on earth.
In my view, the 1787 U.S. Constitution proffers the public
discipline by which to constrain domestic chaos. It is not too late to amend
the First Amendment so as to encourage&facilitate civic humble-integrity
rather than impose civil religious-opinion. Then restore 1782’s motto “E
Pluribus Unum” and apply it to doctrinal and private Gods, reserving sufficient
humility toward the-God, whatever it may be.
Supreme-Court reform could . . . should reform faster. It is
outrageous to attempt to rebuke physics . . . and perhaps the-God!
FB add on: The
rule of law is too weak on necessity to accomplish justice.
https://www.quora.com/What-are-the-characteristics-of-US-ideals?
by Graham C Lindsay
I don’t think the proffered U.S. has left the station yet,
so it is impossible to say where the entity We the People of the United States is
headed.
The proposition that was proffered on September 17, 1787 is
bemused by encouragement&approval of “liberty”. As the world observed in
1789 France, “liberty” is the license to let fellow-citizens’ blood. The statue
in NY Harbor is ours, and we should re-name it “The Statue of Independence” on
“Independence Island”.
Consider the Democrat Party in 2020 licensing hoodlums to
destroy, injure, and kill. Biden’s extending the license, so far, in 2021.
Sorry. I diverted to recommend revision of the purpose from liberty, bestowed
by the victor in war, to responsible-independence, a human self-interest and
duty. Back to your question.
The U.S. intention, expressed (in my view) by 39 signers of
55 framers, is 6 public disciplines: integrity, justice, peace, strength,
prosperity, and responsible-human-independence “to ourselves and our
Posterity”. Thereby, non-dissenting, civic citizens tend to pursue the
happiness they perceive rather than submit to someone else’s view for them.
Dissenters invite written-law enforcement, and civic citizens maintain the law,
in order to continually approach statutory justice.
We the People of the United States must effect three reforms
so as to establish the U.S. as intended. First, the U.S. Supreme Court must
drop “the rule of law”, in order to comport to necessity&justice according
to physics and its progeny (including biology and psychology) instead of legal
precedence. Second, the First Amendment must be reformed so as to
encourage&facilitate civic humble-integrity rather than civil religious-opinion.
Third, voters must both establish their commit-to and trust-in U.S. goals in
order to obtain a license to vote and hold elected and appointed officials to
be fellow-citizens rather than power-elites.
Of course, I don’t know the-ineluctable-truth, but this is
what I think: the future “ourselves and our Posterity” will approach U.S.
ideals. Our responsibility is to get started after 234 years’ neglect.

Ms. Newton you’ve asked a good question.
Absolutely, I want my consequences to be for the-good.
But don’t take that to mean I was always so committed to
civic-connections. When you hedge on your intentions, physics and its progeny
deliver the justice you invited in an untimely and cruel way. And have I
suffered! Mine is a ruined life, yet I do not let that ruin Phil Beaver, the
person.
For example, I had a friend who had a drinking problem. He
told me about it, and I asked, would it help if I went cold-turkey and kept you
informed? I heard a firm “Yes.” A couple month later, I planned travel to
Europe on a 3-week work assignment. I contacted my friend and begged off for
the many evenings I expected with wine glasses. I got time off. Not long
afterwards, my friend died in an alcohol-related auto collision. I cannot
overcome that bitter loss and its misery. It’s ruinous to this very moment.
In self-interest, a civic-citizen never lies; expects
physics to unhide the-ineluctable-truth on its own schedule.
Also, a civic-citizen neither initiates nor tolerates injury
to-or-from any person or institution, including self and family.
Just today, I negotiated a $1650 dispute over a service
contract that was entered on my ignorance about my own property and the expert’s
failure to determine that a new service could not possibly be rendered. After
the discovery, I sought 50% refund. The contractor offered like-value in a
third, different service. The impossible contract would not be reconsidered. I
accepted. We departed in good will and their original service will probably continue
for another 15 years, if I reach age 93.
But let me add this. We do not live in a culture that
encourages&facilitates the humble-integrity that is required for a person
to develop responsible-human-independence. Citizens are influenced to seek
higher power in a doctrinal-God and/or the governments we have. As physics (and
its progeny) un-hides the church’s lies, the politicians revise the religious
propaganda to keep believers hoping their descendants will be relieved of the
misery and loss. As long as the continuum “ourselves” tolerates the
church-state-tyranny “our Posterity” will pay the price for our negligence. We
see that today with $28.25 national debt and Harris-Biden negotiating another
$4 trillion spending for “ourselves” on our grandchildren’s debt.
I hope my opinion helps.
FB add on: We
don’t know that mysterious souls in heaven will observe their descendants pay
the national debt; it’s prudent to assume so.

by Binod Kafle
Kafle, you’ve asked a good question.
I don’t know the-ineluctable-truth, so I’ll share my
opinion.
The human-being cannot escape human connections and must
earn their way of living. Unfortunately, self-proclaimed political-philosophers
cannot survive if they affirm these two principles. Therefore, the people must
hold the philosophers accountable; but not responsible.
If every newborn was not totally ignorant, or more kindly,
uninformed, they’d know that while a foal stands in about an hour and finds their
mare’s tit in about 3 hours, the human newborn is totally dependent for about 3
years or more. Further a thoroughbred-horse achieves peak skill in about 3
years, and a human-being may not peak until approaching death after a complete
lifetime.
They’d know that it takes about a quarter-century for a
human-being to acquire the comprehension and intention to live a complete life,
both chronologically and psychologically. They’d know the suggestion that each
person has the opportunity to either accept being a human or tolerate one of
the opposites: dependent, animal, plant, or mineral. They’d know that
human-beings may develop their individual power, individual energy, and
individual authority (HIPEA) to choose humble-integrity in self-interest rather
than tolerate infidelity to their person. After about 2 more quarter-centuries
of practice, they might perceive perfecting their unique human-being before
mind, body, and person stop functioning.
Unfortunately, there’s no culture on earth that
encourages&facilitates development of each human being for perfection
before their death. One is proffered, in the 1787 U.S. Constitution. However,
so far, the entity We the People of the United States has not chosen to hold
accountable to fellow-citizenship the individuals they elect to both state and
national offices.
The 1787 U.S. Constitution proffers six civic disciplines:
integrity, justice, peace, strength, prosperity, and
responsible-human-independence rather than liberty, which is licensed/bestowed
by the war-victor. Religion is not among the disciplines, because it is a
pursuit only some adults choose. It offers no standards for achievement of the
disciplines, inferring that the future “ourselves and our Posterity” will
discover statutory justice.
I think the world you imagine would have two distinguishing
features: the majority of citizens would be developing the humble-integrity
required for responsible-human-independence, while dissenters invite constraint
by written law-enforcement being continually improved toward statutory justice.
I write to learn and would appreciate your comments.
FB add on: With no culture to encourage&facilitate
responsible-human-independence (RHI), the new-born human-being must discover
humble-integrity on their own. Thereby, they might perfect their unique person
before dying.
https://www.quora.com/When-does-social-status-lead-to-conflict?
by Peter Coultas
When a class of people allow someone else to impose a
happiness on them that negates the responsible-happiness the people pursue,
there is conflict.
For example, the U.S. intention is civic discipline “in
order to” encourage&facilitate responsible-human-independence “to ourselves
and our Posterity”. Congress repressed the proffered proposition when they
unconstitutionally created a civil religion-legislation-partnership to mimic
the constitutional Protestant-Parliament-partnership England uses to repress
commoners under the tyranny of “government by consent”.
So far, We the People of the United States have tolerated
dependency on an Anglo-American God-nation-partnership that morphed from “E
Pluribus Unum” in 1782 to “In God We Trust” in 1956. It is the British, Chapter
XI Machiavellianism that allows elite clergy to manipulate politicians for as
long as adults inculcate in their children the belief that their-God will relieve
their descendants of the loss and misery.
Machiavelli wrote in irony to save his life despite
civic-frankness. The example in Chapter XI ends with the Church prevailing: “For these
reasons [the pope] found the pontificate [with military power and it is
hoped that] he will make [the pontificate] still greater and more venerated by
his goodness and infinite other virtues.” (Nicolao’s life-saving

Beyond Congress’s 1791 tyranny with the religion clauses in
the First Amendment, there’s the Supreme Court approval, the latest in Greece v
Galloway (2014), wherein my concern is labeled “niggling”. The Supreme Court
has no authority by which to constrain my opportunity to develop the
humble-integrity that necessity&justice demand.
It was evident in 1787 that the
Protestant-English-constitution expressed in the 1689 English Bill of Rights
would not hold in America, with its Euro-American Christian majority, both
Protestant and Catholic and other colonists including Jews, Muslims and some
slaves of the Ethiopian Tewahedo Church. But only 39 of 55 framers signed the
“godless constitution” and some of the non-signers became the tyrants who
negotiated the imposition of civil-religious-opinion in place of the
humble-integrity required for responsible-human-independence.
The U.S. tyranny I describe is shocking! However, it will
continue as long as the entity We the People of the United States, the
continuum “ourselves and our Posterity”, continue to tolerate the
religion-legislation-partnership that prevails under unconstitutional
tradition.
We, the 2021 “ourselves and our Posterity” must end
Congress’s tyranny by amending the First Amendment so as to
encourage&facilitate civic humble-integrity rather than civil
religious-belief.
The U.S. proposition is public discipline in order to assure
fellow-citizens the opportunity to responsibly pursue the happiness the person
perceives rather than submit to the vision elites have for them.
Fellow-citizens must create the opportunity for elites to
enjoy human dignity, by establishing the intended U.S. culture: citizens hold
both state officials and national officials accountable to fellow-citizenship.
FB add on: The
entity We the People of the United States has the responsibility to hold both
state and national officials accountable as fellow-citizens rather than as
church-state-elite tyrants. The near-future-amended First Amendment must
encourage&facilitate civic humble-integrity rather than civil
religious-opinion.

I want to share 2 stories: one about sex and the other about
accepting professionalism.
In my first year at work, I accepting invitation to the annual
work-group party. It featured “skin flicks” that were so explicit I could not
control my impulses. I left the film room and joined the poker game as an
observer. On the way home, I went to famous “meat market” dance hall and danced
with someone who tried to mimic the skin-flick with clothes on. I decided that
if I continued to whet that appetite, I would loose my chance at maturity.
Later, I shared the principle (don’t whet banal appetites) with my children,
and it seemed to work for them.
In my fifth year at work I faced a problem I wished I could
discuss with my professors. I thought about approaching my boss or another
senior in our department. It occurred to me I was being paid to solve the
problem, so I went to the literature for clues to a solution. Later, I wished
that thought had come earlier yet was glad it came.
I write to learn and would appreciate comments.

by Bill Sands
Absolutely.
Further, to think that American cultural intention is part
of the West is submission to British tyranny if not European bemusement.
I like the Anglo-Saxon values: Courage&selflessness,
truth, honor, fidelity, discipline&duty, hospitality, industriousness, and
self-reliance. I guess they represent the era: 450 to 1066 AD. A modern list of
Christian values is: generosity, courage, love, respect, hope, and peace.
As I view the U.S. preamble, the American civic disciplines
are: integrity, justice, peace, strength, prosperity, and
responsible-independence (not liberty, license bestowed by the war-victor). Religion
is not included as a U.S. civic discipline: religious-opinion is an individual
pursuit.
The 2021 “ourselves and our Posterity” must amend the First
Amendment so as to civically encourage and facilitate
responsible-human-independence rather than civilize Anglo-American
religious-opinion.
It’s a matter of Christian wars. In 595, Augustine arrived
in Saxony (the European west) on a mission to convert pagans to Catholicism. In 1215, Catholic bishops, land lords, and King John signed the
Magna Carta. In 1517, Martin Luther posted his protest on a church door in
Wittenberg, Germany. In 1689, the
English Bill of Rights constitutionalized a Protestant monarch. On September
17, 1787, 39 signers of 55 framers issued the proposition for U.S. political
independence. On December 15, 1791 with the U.S. Bill of Rights, Congress unconstitutionally
re-established English-Protestant legal-dependency.
The entity We the
People of the United States has yet to establish
responsible-human-independence: a culture wherein both 1) the-good deed is
appreciated to constrain the-bad and 2) “ourselves and our Posterity”
continually discover&practice the-good---without analyzing the doer’s
Eastern or Western religious pursuits.
Mr. Sands, and others,
I write to learn and would appreciate comments.
FB add on: The
intended U.S. culture, responsible-human-independence (RHI), can be viewed as
the American rejection of erroneous Western culture. Eastern-seaboard American
colonists perceived the tyranny of Europe’s Christian-wars and opted out. In
the First Amendment’s religious clauses, Congress egregiously restored European
failures to encourage&facilitate RHI “to ourselves and our Posterity”---we
citizens of 2021. We can amend to civic-integrity rather than civil-religion.
To Bill Sands: Thank you.
I didn’t expect such a brutal assessment
of Americans and don’t agree, preferring my opinion.
America, hopefully,
has reached the abyss predictable from the 1791 official re-institution of
English-style Chapter XI Machiavellianism: by creating a church-state
partnership, temporal politicians and clergy can live high on the hog and the
people neither emigrate nor rebel, believing that the-God will eventually
relieve their descendants of the misery and loss. Politicians come and go, but
the Church abides in wealth.
How does
communitarianism differ from the British (John Locke) tyranny “consent of the governed”?
Quoting your poster, “belief that a person's
social identity and personality are largely molded by community relationships” does
not appreciate individual happiness. At some point during the indoctrination,
the individual may accept that the only way to pursue the happiness they
perceive is to earn it. There are many examples of communities dissolving when
enough members realize someone else has the vision for their happiness. For
example, the slogan “black lives matter” does not seem to promote unity among
human-beings. That is to say, the slogan “my people” excludes other races.
It
seems self evident that the first obligation&duty to the community is to
constrain chaos in personal-living. Constraining chaos is a self-interest that
accrues to the community. For example, the man who is faithful to his spouse
does not motivate two women and affect children to seek justice. So the ideal
community is the one with the majority in responsible-human-independence, each
pursuing the temporal happiness they perceive, with
encouragement&facilitation from the community. Fellow-citizens who demand
dependence are tolerated unless they injure someone or a property, in which
case they invite subjugation to statutory justice.
Civic-Americans
understand necessity&justice and must restore the 1787 U.S. intentions to
responsible human-independence “to ourselves and our Posterity”. Necessity&justice
require human-beings to independently constrain chaos during life and thus on
earth.

by Rodney Vessels
I think so.
Mom&Dad was such a practically-great
female&male-human-being the spousal-unit engrossed me in trying to choose a
vision as Baptist-beleiver. It took me 4 decades and marriage with my-wonderful-wife
to-stop attempting to-indoctrinate-myself into a politically-possible choice; second-best
to my person.
Now I accept that I was not born to-believe the hate-culture
and accept my status as un-elect according to the doctrine. When I read John
15:18-23 and its 5 repetitions of “hate” the author consigned to us
non-believers, I am grateful to have opted out. When I read Luke 14:26, I
accept the author’s hate message as wrong-minded. At last, I perceive humility
toward the-god, whatever it may be. I speculate it is physics and its progeny,
and that its source is potential energy, whatever the cause. I don’t know.
So, the conflict-of-interest is living in a culture of
civil-religious-belief, whereas I desire a culture of the civic-humble-integrity
needed for responsible-human-independence. The problem is, I know of no such
culture. I think it is proffered in the 1787 U.S. Constitution and work to
persuade fellow-citizens to consider its proffered intentions.
Most people want safety&security, in order to have the
opportunity to responsibly-pursue the-happiness-they-perceive as they develop
their person rather than submit to someone else’s vision for them. However, few
persons are willing to develop the responsible-human-independence that is
required to-develop harmony-in-this-world regardless of the
dissenter-demographics: alms players, criminals, tyrants and worse. Many fellow-citizens
erroneously-depend-on their-God and/or government to behave with
responsible-human-independence. Usurpation of human-responsibility is not going
to happen (I think).
As reported above, I did not always have this self-interest
in humble-integrity. However, by falling in-love-with the Louisiana-French-Catholic
woman whose serene-confidence won my commitment for life, I found myself.
I trust-in and am committed to the-ineluctable-truth, most
of which is unknown to humankind. Thereby, when I don’t know, I’m able to
declare “I don’t know” . . . and add a suggestion if I’ve earned one.
I write to learn and would appreciate your comments, Mr.
Vessels and others.
FB add on: Developing
a personal-God that competes with necessity&justice does not seem prudent
on reading Genesis 1:26-27 as reliable-political-philosophy:
female&male-human-being may independently create harmony on earth.

by Fatima Laraib
I work to apply personal-authority and gauge it by
humble-integrity.
The human-being has the individual power, the individual
energy, and the individual authority (HIPEA) to perfect their person as death
approaches. That does not imply perfecting their mind and body. Each
human-being has the opportunity to develop a unique person. Too many
individuals accept developing a mysterious opposite of human-being: soul, animal,
plant, or mineral.
Humble-integrity is developed by doing the personal-research
to discover the-ineluctable-truth and how to responsibly benefit from its-ineluctable-evidence.
With failure, maintain&declare “I don’t know”, even if an opinion was
formed. For example, if doctrinal-God-research seems persuasive, maintain
sufficient humility toward the-God, whatever-it-may-be.
It seems in the individual’s self-interest to discipline
research&action to conform to necessity&justice. Necessity&justice
seem driven by physics and its progeny including biology and psychology. For
example, the authentic man comprehends that the reliable woman cares for
herself and perhaps 400 viable ova during her fertile years, and he would not
compromise either the woman or her viable ovum.
I represent not a perfect life of 3 quarter centuries, but
the life I am developing after putting aside my childhood training in
religious-opinion rather than humble-integrity.
I work to encourage&facilitate a culture of
responsible-human-independence using humble-integrity and assert that such a
way of living is proposed in the 1787 U.S. Constitution. The first step to
restore U.S. intentions is to amend the First Amendment in order to
encourage&facilitate civic-humble-integrity rather than
civil-religious-belief.

humble-integrity, in order to live by personal-authority.
