Consider writing a personal paraphrase of the preamble, which offers fellow citizens mutual equality:  For discussion, I convert the preamble’s predicate phrases to nouns and paraphrase it for my proposal as follows: “Willing citizens collaborate, communicate, and connect to provide 5 public institutions—integrity, justice, peace, strength, and prosperity—so as to encourage responsible human liberty to living people.” I want to collaborate with the other citizens on this paraphrase and theirs yet would preserve the original, 1787, text, unless it is amended by the people.

It seems no one has challenged whether or not the preamble is a legal statement. The fact that it changed this independent country from a confederation of states to a union of states deliberately managed by disciplined fellow citizens convinces me the preamble is legal. Equity in opportunity and outcome is shared by the people who collaborate for human justice.

Every citizen has equal opportunity to either trust-in and collaborate-on the goals stated in the preamble or be dissident to the agreement. I think 2/3 of citizens try somewhat to use the preamble but many do not articulate commitment to the goals. However, it seems less than 2/3 understand that “posterity” implies grandchildren. “Freedom of religion,” which fellow citizens have no means to discipline, oppresses freedom to develop integrity.

A quora question prompted perhaps my clearest encouragement for individuals to pay attention to the U.S. Preamble’s proposition with the-objective-truth as standard for justice. For example, I once overlooked or warmed to a famous lyric “Twas Grace that taught my heart to fear.” I suffered an imposed fear or psychological tyranny. However, as I progressed into college it seemed clear to me that Maslow’s hierarchy of needs can be viewed as personal responsibilities. For example, if you want to choose food rather than accept from a bureaucrat, you must earn.

When I was a child, I understood that America was exceptional because of “we, the people” and “freedom of religion.” However, a sixteen-month overseas assignment made me realize the world is peopled with great individuals, and that some cultures have open-minded civic practices. It inspired me to examine more closely the U.S. Constitution. I discovered its preamble, the U.S. Preamble. A few decades later, I view the U.S. Preamble as a proposition for self-discipline to achieve mutual, comprehensive safety and security.

The U.S. Preamble offers citizens the proposition which I interpret for my way of living as follows:  We the People of the United States communicate, collaborate, and connect to aid five public institutions---integrity, justice, peace, strength, and prosperity (original nouns are Unity, Justice, Tranquility, defense, and Welfare, respectively) ---in order to encourage responsible human liberty to the continuum of living people. This seems a proposition to aid freedom-from tyranny so as to secure individual liberty-to develop responsible human integrity as evolution unfolds. In my maturity, low as it may be, I accept that I must conform to the-literal-truth, which I may pursue through the-objective-truth, admitting I do not know when I do not know. I try to be informed of government decisions in my city, state, and country; publically express my preferences; and vote for politicians who seem to be of We the People of the United States rather than “we, the people.” I try to aid freedom-from both internal and external constraints so as to secure liberty-to my wife, me, our children, and other people.

I read, write, and conduct open meetings at public libraries to promote two practices: 1) individual discipline that is so true to human experience and observations that most people practice it and 2) individual pursuit of the-literal-truth as standard for human integrity.

Individual practices when in civic majority promote collective success, and I think 2/3 participation in civic citizenship is achievable as soon as this message is widely read. My interpretation of the U.S. Preamble’s proposition to fellow citizens this morning is:  We the People of the United States communicate, collaborate, and connect to aid five public institutions---integrity, justice, peace, strength, and prosperity (original nouns Unity, Justice, Tranquility, defense, and Welfare, respectively)---in order to encourage responsible human liberty to the continuum of living people. There may be a better people’s proposal, and I’d like to know of it. By all means it is not the United Nation’s declaration of human rights.

In my work to comprehend the U.S. Preamble, two principles stand out.

First, the U.S. Preamble does not refer to preservation of the 1788 U.S. culture, a form of “originalism.” The object of the public aid to five institutions is “to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.” At all times, “ourselves” is living citizens and “our Posterity” is future citizens including grandchildren and beyond. Thus, current civic families aid the five public institutions to secure liberty to the parents’ grandchildren and beyond. Citizens who do not consider much less aid the U.S. Preamble’s proposition are dissident fellows who may reform at any time. Without my articulations, I think about 2/3 of citizens aid the proposition by virtue of their genes and memes, but because of political obfuscations, civic votes teeter on 50% plus one.

Second, while the 1788 standard for justice may have been each voting citizen’s factional American Protestantism (a private division), only 5% of inhabitants could vote, and they were land-owning men. Since its establishment as a global nation on June 21, 1788, the USA has suffered obfuscation of the U.S. Preamble’s proposition as secular, whereas it is neutral to religion, race, gender, and other civic errors. Alas, so far, instead of religiously neutral the USA has been a democracy under competitive theists, with non-theists sharing the burden of the mystery of whatever-God-is. Both physical and cultural discoveries emerge from ineluctable evidence we call the-objective-truth. For example, like erroneous physical perceptions such as the sun’ll come out tomorrow, lies inevitably are exposed by physical evidence. The men elevated Kipling’s man who would be king to a god until the primitive women cut the god’s wrist to observe the blood. The earth, rotating on its axis, hides the sun each evening and un-hides it each morning.

The-objective-truth often changes because of new instruments or new interpretations of past evidence. Therefore, open-minded people often state “I don’t know,” before expressing a hard-earned opinion. For example, to the challenge “Solve the mystery of whatever-God-is” the civic citizen might answer “The existence of God has not been disproven, so I don’t know.”   With open minds, humankind trusts-in and is committed-to asymptotically approaching the-literal-truth.  

Regardless of my work, I think humankind is on a deliberate march toward a civic agreement similar to the U.S. Preamble under pursuit of statutory justice through discovery of the-literal-truth. I hope my work will accelerate the march so that I may witness an achievable better future.

My interpretation of the preamble to the U.S. Constitution is, today:  We the People of the United States communicate, collaborate, and connect to aid integrity, justice, peace, defense, and prosperity in order to encourage responsible human liberty to living and future people;

The citizens who deny equity and dignity to each human ovum are not of We the People of the United States, even though he or she may be a U.S. Supreme Court justice.

It’s important for queer-LGBT allies to consider a set of acceptances that:

Each person is a human being;

Humans are the only species with the awareness and grammar by which to develop integrity;

A human emerges from a unique ovum and may develop equity under integrity but not equality;

Diversity is a matter of statistics of physics and its progeny, e.g., biology, plus individual choices;

With human-individual power, energy, and authority (HIPEA) a person may choose to test physics;

Individuals who choose infidelity to physics beg woe;

Humans in the same locale, for freedom-from tyranny, develop power for integrity over infidelity,

The standard for integrity is the ineluctable evidence I call “the-objective-truth”;

Evidence informs humans that pursuit of integrity may be encouraged unto the third generation;

Aware families aid human liberty-to discipline to integrity and encourage the parent’s grandchildren;

Most humans want appreciation and companionship;

No human can justly fault a mutual commitment to appreciation and companionship for life;

However, partners for life are not exempt from duty to the dignity and equity due the human ovum.

The human individual continually has the undeniable opportunity to discover and develop integrity to the-objective-truth---the ineluctable evidence by which truth is measured.

Typically, individuals allow infidelity to creep in. Many overlook the opportunity to reform. Some mistake a recent infidelity as ruin rather than vital notice to reform.

Under existing civilizations and cultures, independent discovery of the-objective-truth is unlikely. Citizens may reform education systems so as to encourage and coach the young to use their human powers to develop integrity.

Practicing integrity empowers achieving integrity. In the practice, the individual considers a heartfelt concern; obtains the ineluctable evidence to discover the concern is not unfounded; studies the discovery so as to understand how to benefit; orders personal living for the benefit; shares the understanding and open-mindedly responds to public reaction; if improvement in understanding is identified, the adjustments are made and shared; if new evidence requires change in understanding, the process is retraced as necessary. In review, the process is: concern, discovery, understanding, order, share and listen, perhaps improve, and remain alert to new discovery.

With this process, humankind’s understanding approaches the-objective-truth. Individual incorruptibility accumulates as human completeness.

I know of no other inviolable human right. For example, frequently, small infidelities to the-objective-truth negate a right to life. Ova, embryos, and infants are especially susceptible to human infidelity.
