Phil Beaver seeks to collaborate on the-objective-truth, which can only be discovered. The comment box below invites readers to write.
"Civic"
refers to citizens who collaborate for individual
happiness with civic integrity more than for the city, state, nation, or
society.
Consider writing a personal
paraphrase of the preamble, which offers fellow citizens mutual equality: For discussion, I convert the preamble’s predicate phrases to nouns and
paraphrase it for my interpretation of its proposal as follows: "The good People of these" united
states facilitate and encourage five civic disciplines---integrity, justice,
peace, strength, and prosperity, "in order to” develop responsible
human-independence “to ourselves and our Posterity.”I want to improve my interpretation by listening to
other citizens and their interpretations yet would preserve the original, 1787,
text, unless it is amended by the people.
It seems the
Supreme Court occasionally refers to it, and no one has challenged whether or
not the preamble is a legal statement. The fact that it changed this
independent country from a confederation of states to a union of states
deliberately managed by disciplined fellow citizens convinces me the preamble is
legal. Equity in opportunity and outcome is shared by the people who
collaborate for human justice.
Every citizen
has equal opportunity to either trust-in and collaborate-on the goals stated in
the preamble or be dissident to the agreement. I think 2/3 of citizens try
somewhat to use the preamble but many do not articulate commitment to the
goals. However, it seems less than 2/3 understand that “posterity” implies
grandchildren. “Freedom of religion,” which fellow citizens have no means to
discipline, oppresses freedom to develop integrity.
Selected theme from this week
U.S. responsible-human-independence rather than freedom&liberty
The terms “freedom” and “liberty” are terms used by
seventeenth and eighteenth century Europeans to bemuse civic citizens from
encouraging&facilitating responsible-human-independence (RHI).
According to Machiavelli, The Prince, Chapter XI, church-legislature-partnership
is the easiest way to fool the people. It works, because the people inculcate
in their children the hope that their personal-God will eventually relieve
their descendants of the church-state tyranny. (In Machiavelli’s example, the
church gains sufficient military power and wealth that it no longer needs the political
partnership.)
RHI may be a new expression. However, the suggestion was
made about 45 hundred years ago by a political philosopher born before Abraham
and reported in Genesis 1:26-28. According to the author, the-God of creation’s
assessment of female&male-human-being is:
You have the power, energy, and authority to independently establish
order and peace on earth---to be fruitful and multiply.
Abraham increased chaos on earth, leaving Ur to start a new
religion based on animal sacrifice rather than human sacrifice. He could have
stayed in Ur and reformed the religion. Abraham’s subsequent infidelity
developed 3 major religions and several minor ones. Today, no two believers of
any religion have the same personal-God. Worse, almost no believer reserves
sufficient appreciation for the-God.
If they did, they would take seriously the-God’s assessment
that they can perfect their person before dying—can develop the
humble-integrity to constrain chaos in their way of living. Instead, many
people take pride in knowing their-God and hoping for a good afterdeath,
without appreciating the-God.
The 1787 U.S. Constitution proffers a culture of RHI. Beginning
in April, 1789, hiring Protestant chaplains for Congress, Congress formed a
U.S.-unconstitutional partnership with religion, which since then has been
upheld by the erroneous Supreme Court. Unfortunately, the Supreme Court
promotes the rule of legal-precedent rather than rule of necessary-justice.
It has taken 232 years for Congressional tyranny to develop
today’s chaos. As we anticipate July 4, 2021, it is good to reflect on U.S.
history: freedom&liberty is bestowed by the victor in war, whereas female&male-human-being
demands RHI, responsible-human-independence.
Quora

by Isaiah Gray
I think the meaning of life can be found through
responsible-human-independence rather than through philosophy.
A human-being must live with the intent to
discover&accomplish their person’s meaning.
The most complete guidance I have encountered is offered by,
I think, a Sumerian political philosopher 45 hundred years ago, recorded in
Genesis 1:26-28. In my 2021 human-opinion, the meaning of that ancient
literature is that female&male-human-being has the independent
responsibility to order events on earth. That is to say, neither the-God nor a government
will usurp the individual’s opportunity to constrain chaos in their way of
living.
The passage implies that each human-being has the individual
power, the individual energy, and the individual authority (HIPEA) to develop
the humble-integrity to perfect their person’s responsible-human-independence (RHI).
Unfortunately, most political philosophers use their HIPEA to construct
arguments for persuading the-God to usurp the human-responsibility. Many people
claim the-God is love and pray for God’s peace rather than accept the
self-interest of fidelity. This seems personal-failure the-God may not easily
overlook. What the-God has assigned to humankind remains with humankind.
Since not all human-beings accept that they are a human-being,
discover and practice HIPEA, use HIPEA to develop humble-integrity, and
practice RHI, those who do must constrain those who don’t.
The person who would participate in the constraint of other
human-beings must choose a basis for imposition: either physics or metaphysics.
That is, either matter&energy and their interactions or reason beyond
the-ineluctable-evidence; objectivity or subjectivity; what-is or
what-could-be.
According to Merriam Webster secondary definitions, a
physician exerts remedial/beneficial influence and a metaphysician offers
influence beyond experience and observations. Each human-being has the
opportunity to become a physician or a metaphysician; a problem-solver or an
uncertainty-extender.
Philosophers study all the views that have been expressed
about a political philosophy and leave it to the individual to decide how to
behave. I prefer to behave according to RHI. Therefore, I develop the practice.
This 4th of July, I will be influencing anyone
who listens to reject both freedom&liberty as artifacts of politicians too
weak to accept the humble-integrity required to practice RHI. That’s why, after
232 years’ operation, the U.S. is in chaos. It can be stopped by most of We the
People of the United States accepting that they are a human being, have HIPEA,
can choose humble-integrity, and can perfect their person’s RHI.
Make every 4th of July responsible-human-independence day.

by Kiril Degtarev
I
think doubt is neither entitlement nor right but opportunity, and the benefits
accrue to the doubter. A human-being can choose to never give up their newborn
“I don’t know” when that is the-ineluctable-truth.
For example, Mom&Dad were such good providers I intended
to become one of the Christians they seemed to competitively urge me to be.
When I was about 12, I read the last page of the King James Bible and threats. I
would not follow a God so weak. I could not have articulated that thought then.
As a consequence of this precious doubt, today I profess
that I do not know the author of Genesis 1:26-28: it could be necessity&justice
as discovered by physics&progeny, or chaos, or the-God, Jesus, or a yet
unimagined entity. I’m sincere: I don’t know. However, I reserve humility
toward each of these possible sources of what-is and independently constrain
chaos in my way of living.
Entitlements, rights, freedom, and liberty are
bestowed/licensed by the people in political power. The mystery of the-God
takes care of itself. Civic independence is claimed by the human-beings who
accept responsibility for their way of living, whether they choose to be
religious or not.

by Daniel Butt
I do. The suggestion by a Sumerian political philosopher,
expressed in Genesis 1:26-28, guides my fourth quarter century.
In my view, Genesis 1 suggests that
female&male-human-being can independently (of the-God) order life on earth.
And since humankind can, they should.
It seems that neither the-God nor government will usurp my
individual opportunity.
Therefore, I work to constrain civic chaos in the way I
live.
https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-point-of-having-an-externally-imposed-purpose?
by Daniel Butt
Entering my fourth quarter-century, I don’t know.
But what I think is that learning to pursue personal
happiness without accommodating chaos in your life is a wonderful journey.
Being a human-being with the opportunity to be a civic-citizen can be denied by
the person. Often, almost too late, the typical person does not accept that
neither the-God, nor a government, nor another person, can usurp their
individual energy, individual power, and individual authority (HIPEA) to pursue
the humble-integrity needed for responsible-human-independence (RHI). In a
nutshell, many persons do not accept civic-integrity in human-connections. That
is they neither avoid nor resist injury to or from other persons.
Honesty is insufficient to RHI, and personal-integrity can
be gaged&developed on civic-integrity. And persons nurture civic-integrity
by either discovering the responsible use of the-ineluctable-truth or
maintaining the posture “I don’t know” the-ineluctable-evidence. For example,
in 2021 people know the earth is neither flat nor a disc but is globe-like.
Also, the sun won’t come up tomorrow; the earth’s rotation on its axis will
un-hide the sun each clear morning.
The laws of integrity are the same as the laws of
physics&progeny. For example, civic-citizens never lie, because they expect
future events to physically un-hide the falsehood. In another example, a person
is neither non-human because of their skin color no human because of their
blood-color; the human-being accepts responsibility for their way of living.
The ineluctable constraint imposed on human living is
economic viability without dependency such as poverty, crime, or tyranny: The civic human-being earns their way of
living during every decade of their life, once they accept humble-integrity.

I can't imagine a more motivating plea for civic action.
Appreciative prayer is good after doing all you can do. As
we prepare for the 4th of July, 2021, it is time for some
independence-reflection&renewal.
First, the individual human-being demands independence and
will not accept freedom&liberty bestowed by the victor in war or protest.
I'm sincere: necessity&justice require responsible-human-independence,
which is not possible when a person accommodates freedom&liberty to those
who have it. Consequently, we can each lobby our U.S. representatives to rename
the statue in NY Harbor "The Statue of Independence" on
"Independence Island", NY, USA 10004 to express U.S. intentions while
appreciating requested French aid at Yorktown, VA in 1781.
Second, it seems prudent to appreciate both
physical&metaphysical (life&afterdeath) incentives to attend to the
suggestion in Genesis 1:26-28. Read it and interpret the message for yourself.
Mine is: female&male-human-being may choose to independently pursue
order&peace on earth; that is to say, the-God of creation will not usurp
the power, energy, and authority assigned to humankind.
Third, the world's events leading to England's abuse of the
colonists in the eastern-seaboard of N. America led to the founders' 1776
declaration of war against England, homeland to many colonists. Of
necessity&justice, the document expresses humility to both "nature's
God" and "the Supreme judge of the world", without disparaging
the English-Trinity, worshipped by many colonists.
Eleven years later, the 13 colonies had won
free&independent, separately-named statehood and could not function either
domestically or globally. Twelve states sent 55 delegates to the 1787
constitutional convention. They produced a "godless" document that
only 39 delegates signed (65% of representation). Thus, both the 1776
Declaration of Independence and the 1787 Constitution express the U.S.
intention to conform to the suggestion in Genesis 1:26-28.
The actions we can take to remedy Congress's tyranny,
partnering with religion rather than following U.S. intentions to separate
church and state, are first to urge former President Trump to reform his
stance. Rather than "In God We Trust" the U.S. motto is "E
Pluribus Unum" and that applies to personal-Gods; every personal-God must
reserve sufficient humility to the-God of creation. And second, we can amend
the First Amendment so as to encourage&facilitate civic humble-integrity
rather than promote civil religious-opinion.
A careful study of statements attributed to Jesus make the
case that Jesus, being the-God, is the author of Genesis 1. The reader is left
with the choice: do I follow Genesis 1:26-28 and take responsibility for
fidelity in my life or do I accommodate someone else's suggestion that
afterlife for my soul is all that matters? Whether attributed to Jesus or not,
it seems to me Donald Trump behaves in concert with Genesis 1 and Mike Pence,
self-proclaiming to witness for Jesus betrayed each Trump, "nature's
God", "the Supreme judge of the world", and "the good
people of these [states]"; We the People of the United States.
I know this is a bit much, and so is the dilemma Stacie
McDonald expressed.
