Consider writing a personal paraphrase of the preamble, which offers fellow citizens mutual equality: For discussion, I convert the preamble’s predicate phrases to nouns and paraphrase it for my interpretation of its proposal as follows Born a fellow-citizen, I choose to join We the People of the United States and aid 5 public disciplines---integrity, justice, peace, strength, and prosperity, “in order to” establish and maintain responsible-human-independence to “ourselves and our Posterity”. I want to improve my interpretation by listening to other citizens and their interpretations yet would preserve the original, 1787, text, unless it is amended by the people.

It seems the Supreme Court occasionally refers to it, and no one has challenged whether or not the preamble is a legal statement. The fact that it changed this independent country from a confederation of states to a union of states deliberately managed by disciplined fellow citizens convinces me the preamble is legal. Equity in opportunity and outcome is shared by the people who collaborate for human justice.

Every citizen has equal opportunity to either trust-in and collaborate-on the goals stated in the preamble or be dissident to the agreement. I think 2/3 of citizens try somewhat to use the preamble but many do not articulate commitment to the goals. However, it seems less than 2/3 understand that “posterity” implies grandchildren. “Freedom of religion,” which fellow citizens have no means to discipline, oppresses freedom to develop integrity.

Conserving Human Potential Rather Than Civil Religion

So many conservative writers mimic religion. But perhaps religious doctrine after Abraham was doomed by 5,000 year-old, ineluctable-evidence based political-philosophy in Genesis 1:26-28. Yet it is reasonable to argue that Jesus is its metaphysical author. In other words, either Jesus was the mysterious author of Genesis 1 philosophy, or Genesis 1 expresses early recognition of the human individual’s power, energy, and authority (HIPEA) to constrain chaos in their way of living. Jesus also reportedly said “Be perfect . . .”. Conservative scholars could . . . should write to preserve the principle that female&male-human-being can&must provide order to the living species and to the earth. Neither Jesus nor any other entity will usurp HIPEA.

Introduction

Self-described western-scholars miscommunicate what is made plain by human-necessity&justice. Their unarticulated motive is to persuade people in their time to subscribe to political philosophy proposed by the initially Puritan then deist John Locke, died 1704, versus religious impositions from, for example, John Calvin, died 1564, competing with Catholicism and other orthodoxies. This is 2021, and customers can travel into the traditional “heavens”. Civic fellow-citizens are better served by conserving “I don’t know” rather than constructing “we believe”. Thereby, they can maintain an open mind and an open heart to the-ineluctable-truth; “ineluctable” means “not to be avoided, changed, or resisted”.

Since the seventeenth century, humankind develops exponential-discovery and technology compared to research consequences during the preceding 47 centuries. Yet it seems undeniable that each next generation invents beneficial technology that refutes tradition; both physical and psychological traditions. Fear of falling off the edge of the earth repressed exploration for 10 centuries, and today, satellite videos encircling the earth prove it is neither flat nor a disc but like a globe.

For a glimpse of how scholarly attitudes changed since 1800, I tabulated the ngrams (Google scanned-book word-frequencies) and got the following normalized results for 2017 usage relative to “love” frequency in 1807 (please accommodate my omission of word-marks (“word”) hereafter). In 2017, love 90%, rights 49%, sex 22%, justice 20%, responsibility 18.5%, virtue 8%, necessity 7%, integrity 5.5%, chastity 5%, appreciation 4%, honesty 2%, fidelity 1.4%, self-interest 1%, promiscuity 0.2%, and adultery 0%, respectively. Rights, sex, and chastity each more than doubled from 1807 until 2017, chastity to only 5%; virtue, honesty, and fidelity declined by factors of 6, 2, and 5, respectively, while integrity increased by 50%; appreciation increased 20 fold to 4; and self-interest doubled to 1%. Monogamy straight lines at zero%, practically alongside promiscuity and adultery.

It seems that 2017 interest in love, rights, and sex repressed virtue, integrity, chastity, and appreciation; and there’s little writing about honesty, fidelity, and self-interest. I included each necessity, justice, and responsibility to consider my premise. Necessity and justice declined nearly 5 fold and 3 fold, respectively, to 7% and 20% in 2017. Responsibility increased 8 fold to 18.5%. The substantial declines in necessity and justice may reflect an increase in civil-dependency, the recent increase in responsibility is good, but hardly sufficient at 18.5% compared to 90% for love in 2017. It’s hard to imagine love without responsibility and appreciation.

I divide the practices into two groups, the first involving human connections; the second regarding individual self-discipline. Thus, love, rights, sex, virtue, chastity, honesty, promiscuity, and adultery involve at least 2 parties. For example, Jack says he’s in love with Jill, while Jill sincerely avoids Jack’s attention: they are not in a love-connection. And justice, responsibility, necessity, appreciation, and integrity are of self-interest to civic individuals. Jack appreciates Jill without imposition (taking responsibly). In the former practices, each individual shares control and is prudent if they self-discipline human-connections. With civic-citizens practicing necessity&justice, dissidents could observe self-interest to reform to responsible-human-independence.

Critically appreciating a recent conservative article

Mark Hendrickson, in “The Virtue of Chastity”, July 21, 2021, The Epoch Times (https://www.theepochtimes.com/the-virtue-of-chastity_3919147.html), claims Western-scholarly language, perhaps erroneous-Lockean-civil-Christianity, to encourage youth to develop what I view as civic-integrity in self-interest. Hendrickson means well, but civil-religion involves so much hypocrisy that it is not a practical approach beyond metaphysical comfort and hope to adult advocates. The adults are not necessarily practitioners, even if they are members of the clergy, and the youth know it. Also, regarding physics and its progeny --- strong and weak forces, the chemistries, biology, psychology, imagination, and fiction, religion is not a reliable representative. As human-discovery marches, physics corrects metaphysics. I think “Civic-Integrity in Human Intimacy” is more general: it includes dignity and opportunity to almost 400 ova the typical female generates in her fertile years. I hope conservative scholars will consider responsible-human-independence.

Hendrickson quotes Salon, died 560 B.C., who extolled beauty, grace, and peace as self-interests. Salon lived before humans constructed diverse Christian orthodoxies. However, he may have agreed with Jesus before Jesus was born. In a conversation about their father Abraham, the apostles reported that Jesus said, “Before Abraham was born I AM.” That implies that Jesus could have authored or influenced Genesis 1. That’s right: For all we know, Jesus is the-God of Genesis 1.

The reference to promiscuity entrepreneur Hugh Haefner could have asserted that “self-interest is belittled”. Instead, Hendrickson asks, “What’s in it for you?” to introduce negative and positive consequences.

There’s avoiding pregnancy, STD, and preventing psychological violence. Divorce turns children into victims and lessens the spouses’ financial strength.

Self-interest entails comprehension&intention to behave . . . for the-good. Poor people and politicians share immediate intentions: satisfaction and re-election, respectively. That’s because neither is part of a culture that encourages&facilitates humble-integrity as a human being: instead, they participate in U.S.-unconstitutional “freedom-of-religion”. But the civic-citizen avoids liabilities from treating fellow-citizens as objects. They are unlikely to be gullible to advertisers who promote sexual promiscuity.

Trying to express self-interest as a virtue dilutes the power of human intentions. Females and males who develop intentions to monogamy for life have incentives for “wisdom, character, maturity, and patience”. They are developing “integrity, self-restraint, self-discipline, and self-control” . . . in self-interest as well as mutual trust and commitment.

Self-interest protects the individual from gullibility to self-enslaving practices, such as pornography, promiscuity, mind-changing drugs and alcohol, and gender-choice-enslavement to the entrepreneur’s business plan. The civic-citizen develops responsible-human-independence rather than egocentric freedom&liberty or “God-given rights”. The-God, whatever it may be, will not usurp independence to the human-being, whether civic-fellow citizen or dissident, such as criminal or tyrant.

I hope most religious conservatives will consider the humble-integrity that is needed to develop responsible-human-independence rather than promoting traditional pride: faith in mystery.

Kraanzi, this may be the most profound question I have attempted to consider. Two words make the question subjective to the individual’s intentions for their person’s life: success and integrity. For example, the criminal who intends civil-liberty must perfect integrity-to their dependent practices against fellow-man.

I have come to think (neither believe nor know) that the human-individual can&should perfect their unique person during life. I’m certainly not the first to suggest unique, personal perfection. The political philosophy reported in Genesis 1:26-28 suggests that the female&male-human-being can&must independently provide order&fruitfulness to the living species and to the earth: the-God will not usurp humankind’s responsibility. Jesus expressed Genesis-1 if he said “Be perfect as your father in heaven is perfect”. And Ralph Waldo Emerson suggested Jesus meant that the human-being can perfect their person before dying.

Consequently, I define success in life as perfecting your unique person before death. This does not imply that your person is the most perfect human-being to have lived. Perfecting a human-being is now unlikely: I do not know of a race, civilization, culture, or nation that inculcates in their youth the intention to perfect their unique person during life. Therefore, at this time in history, such perfection is rare if attained at all. I accommodate so many habitual practices, late in my eighth decade; I don’t dream of success yet am working on it; I doubt my integrity.

Integrity is a practice more than a characteristic. Integrity is developed by retaining typical human-infantile confidence “I don’t know” when that is so. Thus, integrity is a humble process that prevents gullibility. Integrity mimics the research process that emerged from responsible-human-independence (RHI).

The process starts when someone perceives ineluctable evidence; evidence ”not to be avoided, changed, or resisted”. The first research-purpose is to discover whether the perception is evidence or a mystery/mirage. If mirage, the record is preserved for future retrieval in repetition or for application of future invention of a new way to perceive the mystery. If the evidence is affirmed, research is redesigned, in order to repeat the conclusion. If the positive-conclusion holds, research is redesigned to discover how to responsibly employ the evidence. If so, the discovery is made available to benefit humankind, remaining alert for new instruments of perception that could alter the usage. Thus, the research product is an objective truth (if perception-unknowns persist); if not it is the-ineluctable-truth. For example, that the earth is not flat, an objective truth, has been displaced by the-ineluctable-truth: earth is like a globe. By humble-integrity a person may gage their personal-integrity and self-discipline to achieve RHI.

These principles may immediately seem sensible to the reader’s experience&observations yet farfetched in today’s world. However, I think a culture of humble-integrity was proffered by sequential documents: the 1776 uSA declaration of war for independence from England plus the 1787 U.S. Constitution. The first separates church from state and the second proposes five public-disciplines “in order to” develop necessity&justice from generation to generation; to develop the humble-integrity required for RHI “to ourselves and our Posterity”. The five disciplines are integrity, justice, peace, strength, and prosperity, leaving religion/none as a private, adult choice. The Bloody Revolution in France, 1789, informed humankind that freedom&liberty is too often mistaken as license to kill&destroy and is a diversion from RHI. The U.S. Constitution is amendable by “ourselves and our Posterity”.

The potential for success by adopting humble-integrity may be enough to motivate the 2021 “ourselves and our Posterity” to establish the U.S. that is intended according to Genesis 1, the 1776 Declaration, and the 1787 Constitution. If so, the first necessity is to amend the First Amendment so as to encourage&facilitate civic-integrity instead of imposing civil-religion, thereby establishing RHI from Anglo-American tradition, at last. Applying this political philosophy is not restricted to the United States, and the world would celebrate any nation establishing humble-integrity for RHI.

I think the entity We the People of the United States accommodates tyranny against the people and can&must reform “ourselves and our Posterity”). The key is for most fellow-citizens to accept first that we are human-beings rather than animals, plants, minerals, dependents, stars, or souls.

Merriam-Webster online, for “nationalism” has this: a sense of national consciousness exalting one nation above all others and placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as opposed to those of other nations or supranational groups. And for “patriotism” this: love for or devotion to one's country. The real Phil Beaver is more nationalist than patriot.

Regarding nationalism, I think the 1787 U.S. Constitution proffers a representative republic predicated on public discipline, “in order to” encourage&develop responsible-human-independence (RHI) “to ourselves and our Posterity”. The 1787 Constitution is neither theistic nor religious. However, the ratification process in 1788 and the First Congress under 11 states (1789) imposed civil religion to mimic “the mother country” rather than carry out the 1776 Declaration and 1787 Constitution for independence. When the U.S. restores its 1787 intentions, the world will enter the possibility for an achievable better future. The first action the 2021 “ourselves and our Posterity” can&must effect is the amendment of the First Amendment so as to encourage&facilitate the individual&collective humble-integrity that is necessary for RHI. Thus, I think the-intended U.S. would be exemplary to other nations: the U.S. would be a celebrated leader of nations.

I think when 2/3 of the world’s inhabitants live in cultures that encourage&facilitate acceptances that 1) the individual is a human-being rather than an animal, plant, mineral, or soul, 2) that the human-being can&should develop individual power, individual energy, and individual authority (HIPEA) to seek the happiness they perceive as their life unfolds, and 3) that humble-integrity rather than a dependency is key to successful development of their person there will be statutory justice that approaches peace.

I think the 2/3 would practice responsible-human-independence and most dissidents would observe the self-interest to reform. However, like everything else in physics, there will always be willful persons who demand some form of dependency: gaming welfare, plying religion, crime, tyranny, drugs, sex, and other self-enslavements.

I can only express my experiences&observations. It seems to me nationalists consider a person they encounter a human being unless the person expresses otherwise.

As far as I know, the dominant human being is homo sapiens, and the last homo-mix died off maybe 10,000 years ago. However, some h. sapiens chose to behave as animals, plants, minerals, or souls. I try to avoid such persons, whether domestic or foreign.

Ideally, our children will succeed as human-beings better than I do, because their parents encouraged&facilitated them to establish ineluctable principles more than metaphysics, because they value civic human-connections, and because they practice human-necessity&justice.

Consulting Merriam-Webster online, I choose “integrity” as “an unimpaired condition [and] being complete [and] undivided” and “empathy” as “the imaginative projection of a subjective state into an object so that the object appears to be infused with it”.

The first leaves the standard of performance with reality and the second is a matter of appearance. The human-being can neither cajole integrity nor impose another person’s status. The other person is intolerant of another’s opinion.

The Abraham mystery emerged from human-adolescence involving ancient insistence on third-party sexual intimacy: spousal infidelity. The third-party fights for opportunity for their offspring. The consequence of female&male infidelity is reliable chaos: the courts banish the third party and child. The chaos unleased by the Abraham mystery divergently burdens fellow-citizens in 2021.

The self-interest of fidelity for life is well documented, yet perhaps 1 in 7 marriages is monogamous to the spouses, their children, and any grandchildren: family monogamy for life: “Only 17 percent of human cultures are strictly monogamous.”

Heretofore, spousal rights under “the-rule-of-[legal-opinion]” do not accept that their descendants are, according to necessity&justice, persons entitled to dignity and security. The descendants’ personhoods are determined by physics but denied by law. Legal-precedence exacerbates the comedy called “the rule of [legal] law”, making the development of statutory justice nearly impossible.

Spousal “rights” to lessen voluntary-obligations to their descendants is a legal construct that is violent to physics and its progeny --- e.g., chemistry, biology, psychology, obligations, and imagination. Justices who aspire to be civic-citizens have the privilege of lessening the harm of erroneous-legal-precedent as well as “originalism”, which binds the living fellow-citizens to obsolete dissidence.

Similarly a male opines he is female against his self-interest. If he acts on the opinion, he voluntarily enslaves himself to the gender-change entrepreneurs. Court opinions that encourage&facilitate the entrepreneurs defy physics, which invites the slave’s ruin. Everybody knows that eventually, physics corrects legal “rights”, yet some people choose to lie to themselves. Neither the-God nor government can usurp ruinous choices (Genesis 1). Integrity is indeed difficult; unfortunately, some people honestly never encounter integrity.

I think there are two essentials. First, appreciate the other party as a human-being and fellow-citizen, as they are and where they are, in their journey toward humble-integrity. Consequently, let your yes be “yes”, your no be “no”. Accept and admit to yourself, “I don’t know” when that is so and say the phrase.

Second, neither initiate nor accommodate injury to-or-from another person or association, including self and family. Kindly (unless under physical attack) object to someone’s intentions to injure. Merriam Webster online suggests you reference “to cause to suffer because of belief”. In my fourth quarter century, I do not nourish beliefs. I commit-to and trust-in the-ineluctable-truth, often accepting that I do not know what I do not know. I work to be open-minded and open-hearted and accept other people’s informed-rejection of my opinion or person.

Nearing the end of my second quarter century, self-promoting religious “authorities” called me a heretic to mom and dad’s religions (competitive Southern Baptist). I stayed away from the church for 4 weeks, brooding, and then I returned and confronted the accuser. He responded, “I don’t want to discuss it, but I strongly disagree with you.” I never saw him again. But no man understands the-God’s appeal to me better than me.

Another authority told me my Catholic children were doomed by not being baptized by emersion after accepting Christ. I responded that the Catholic way might be better: sprinkling, education, then confirmation. He responded, ignorantly, “Yes, but confirmation is not a Sacrament.” I checked and returned the next week to correct his mistake. I also have not seen him since then.

I have studied Agathon’s speech from Plato’s “Symposium” for over a quarter century. I interpret his message as follows: The appreciative citizen neither initiates nor accommodates injury to-or-from any person, association, or property, including self and family. I think necessity&justice require an offended party to inform the suspected offender, either directly, or, if injury might ensue, by reporting to first responders. Thereby, mistaken impressions can be clarified, and if there was an offense, the offender has the chance to confess and make amends.

Similarly, if friends decide to take the liberty to kill or injure person(s), or destroy property, necessity&justice requires departure to report their intentions to first responders.

JT, I agree. I think the “social science” scholars turn their “backfire effect” into TMI. The reported-bias is sponsored by Hewlitt Packard, who will pass the cost on to customers.

In the first place, “social science” is not research and development to discover the laws of physics and its progeny. It is the use of statistics, an often ruinous research-tool, to prove the author’s premise. And the author is neither researcher nor civic servant but an advocate, perhaps paid by a sponsor, often the U.S. Congress.

In recent decades, "social scientists” teemed with the media under the metaphysics that public opinion controls public policy, poll design controls public opinion, and the media reports the opinion. Unfortunately, the press has fallen into the “social sciences” media-network. Quoting the article, “One major problem is that beyond the scientific literature, the media and online science blogs have often over-generalized backfire effects found in subgroups to the population as a whole and to all corrective information”. The vital concern is that social poll-taking belongs in nether research results nor “scientific literature”. And the human-being is too powerful to be fooled by metaphysics.

(In perhaps 7 million years since bipeds emerged, homo sapiens is only 300,000 years old, with the last mixed-species having died off 10,000 years ago. Perhaps the next mutation, maybe homo integritas is already advancing humankind such that “ourselves and our Posterity” will establish responsible-human-independence, at last.)

The left vs right competitive paragraph, for example “a fictitious scenario detailing that right-wing politicians generally misappropriate public funds more than left-wing politicians” directly uses the familiarity backfire effect by repeating misinformation. I perceive bias in the use of “individuals” in this quote: “Liberal individuals, whose worldview aligned with the correction, were able to successfully update their belief, whereas conservatives increased their belief in the misconception”; I read it as some liberals . . . all conservatives. Even the terms “liberals” and “conservatives” are misused. For example, I am a responsible-happiness liberal and economic conservative; I advocate neither “freedom&liberty” nor civil-beliefs, preferring responsible-human-independence.

And the-God requires humble-integrity to perfect your unique-person rather than either individualism or communitarianism. And each person can neither avoid, nor change, nor resist their opportunities to choose either integrity or infidelity to self.

No metaphysical civil-rights can replace the right to develop responsible-human-independence.

The present campaigns to enlist Christian voters as “conservatives” are annoying after Mike Pence demonstrated that Christians simply don’t understand: No man can speak for Jesus. Perhaps whatever Jesus is authored Genesis 1:26-28. These 5,000 years later, it seems self-evident that humankind can&must provide order&fruitfulness to the living species on earth: neither the-God nor government will usurp the human-being’s responsibility to constrain chaos in their way of living.

Maybe if Jesus said in a conversation about Abraham (3800 years ago), “Before Abraham was born I AM”, Jesus’ message was that responsible-human-independence was suggested now 5,000 years ago.

Regardless, each person can&must constrain chaos in their way of living. Conservatism can lead the needed reform from metaphysics to physics; separation of church&state; independence from Anglo-American tradition; reform from the-rule-of-legal-precedent to conformity to the laws of physics: responsible-human-indpendence.

In my view, Mr. Lindsay, you present an unusually open question. I think anyone who attempts to displace physics with metaphysics invites ruin.

There’s evidence that political philosophy grounded in metaphysics is eventually corrected by physics and its progeny --- mathematics, strong forces and weak forces, the chemistries, biology, psychology, imagination, fiction, religion, tyranny; everything.

In the year 2021, we are at the leading edge of discovery that has been exponential for at least 50 years in psychology and 200 years in technology, after homo sapiens emerged from bipeds some 300,000 years ago. There is no excuse for insisting on tyranny when order&fruitfulness are attainable. The individual need not weigh individualism versus communitarianism when their person needs&demands responsible-human-independence.

The party at fault in this reversible failure is the individual who does not accept that they are a human-being; that in self-interest, they can&must acquire the comprehension&intention to constrain chaos in their way of living. Human necessity&justice is the inspiration&motivation for this attitude, and as soon as 2/3 of the people accept it, an achievable better future will be visible. To put it another way, neither the-God nor government will usurp the human-individual’s responsibility to constrain chaos in their way of living.

The fact that I am in my fourth quarter century and only now can articulate these principles, low as my performance has been, attests to the reality that my birth-community, perhaps no civilization, culture, or nation on earth, encourages&facilitates the humble-integrity that is required to develop responsible-human-independence, within a lifetime. Yet the moment the human-being accepts these principles or better, their journey to perfect their unique person begins; only death can stop them. I read, write, speak, and LISTEN, in order to discover better expressions and principles: I invite comments so that I may learn.

I am able to articulate these suggestions, because during my second-two quarter-centuries a self-directed avocation would answer two questions: With so many wonderful people in the world, why is there so much misery, and with such a wonderfully proffered representative republic, why is the U.S. divergent? The U.S. had to reach divergent-chaos for my articulations to formulate and have the chance for improvement by fellow-citizens. With improvements by over 100 persons, including you, Mr. Lindsay, the articulations may eventually approach reliability to the experiences and observations of at least 2/3 of the living fellow-citizens. Then reform may move rapidly.

There is much to accomplish. Cultures who improve on these principles must reform their education systems so that they encourage&facilitate both adults and youth to 1) accept that they are human beings and therefore can develop HIPEA and use it to practice responsible-human-independence and 2) that in self-interest to humble-integrity, they can perfect their unique person before death.

When a person does not know the physics of the-ineluctable-truth, accepting I don’t know and will first consider if necessity&justice requires me to know, is better than bemusing precious life with metaphysics’ tyranny.

My view is that privacy is paramount yet feared by politicians. Criticizing privacy would not be politically popular, so politicians promote collectivism. Consequently, individualism is not as popular as it would be in a civic culture.

The civic-citizen aids mutual, comprehensive safety&security so that each individual may responsibly pursue the happiness each perceives rather than submit to someone else’s vision for them.

Independent-privacy is not at all new: it is abstractly suggested in Genesis 1:26-28. Viewed with discoveries through 2021, the suggestion is: the species female&male-human-being can&must independently provide order&fruitfulness to the other living species and to the earth. To the individual, this means to constrain chaos so that their way of living will be fruitful.

The implications are far reaching. For example, if an individual does not find a mate with whom they can bond for life, so that their spouse-hood can be faithful to their children unto grandchildren and beyond, it’s OK. Their way of living still can&must constrain chaos.

The cultures that evolved do not encourage the human-being to perfect their unique person before dying. The culture that facilitates unique-personal perfection inculcates in their youth the principle that the human-being can choose to develop the individual power, the individual energy, and the individual authority (HIPEA) to practice humble-integrity. Without encouragement&facilitation, most persons never accept that they are a human-being and therefore can practice responsible-human-independence. They look to the-God, their doctrinal-God, or government for higher power. Cultures don’t accept that necessity&justice urge that they can&must establish peace on earth to all species.

I think many Americans practice these principles in privacy --- would not dare express them. They fear the popular notion that the-God will eventually overcome the doctrinal-Gods that partner with political factions, in order to bless America. And all the while, the-God expresses that humankind’s responsibility to provide order&fruitfulness on earth will not be usurped.

Merely adopting the usage “the-God” could help clarify this point. And it could help some people admit that their-God is circular to their perceptions rather than faithful to the-ineluctable-truth. A wonderful outcome of such U.S. reform would be independence from the Christian-collectivism that is imposed by Anglo-American tradition.

As things stand, both the U.S. and England are vulnerable to Ethiopian Tewahedo Christianity, a collectivism that promotes unity as they perceive it. They have not shared with me what they perceive. If they did, I anticipate that I would stay with my pursuit of responsible-human-independence.

Responsible-human-independence seems far more human that either individualism or collectivism.

I assume by “founding fathers” you mean the loyal British subjects in the N. American eastern-seaboard who complained against British taxation of colonists to benefit residents of Great Britain. In 1763, some colonists were Whigs (classical liberals) and some were Tories (conservative to the monarchy). After England’s surrender, in 1781, some Tories returned to England. Others could not afford the return trip. Also, 20% of the seaboard population above Florida and east of the Mississippi were African-slaves. I guess the citizens who supported American independence were the founding fathers.

In 1776, they referred to “Nature’s God” rather than the Anglo-American Trinity for authorization to declare war. In 1778, they negotiated military providence from France, in order to secure victory.

Through 1787, the confederation of states proved too weak to survive, and 12 of 13 states convened to devise a central government under one head. They framed and proffered a republic under public-discipline by the people, amendable upon the discovery of injustice. Five days before the signing, 5 delegates issued a revised preamble containing a statement of intentions. Here’s my view of the intentions: Civic-people of the united States practice&encourage 5 disciplines --- integrity, justice, peace, strength, and prosperity, in order to facilitate responsible-human-independence “to ourselves and our Posterity”. Only 39 of 55 delegates from the 12 states signed the 1787 U.S. Constitution.

Tories ran for office in the 1789 initial U.S. operations under only 11 states. In Congress, they led the tyranny to restore, as much as possible, English legal precedent. The entity We the People of the United States has accommodated the tyranny ever since. We settle for bestowed freedom and licensed liberty rather than benefitting from responsible-human-independence.

I think the 1787 signers would have wanted neither the tyranny nor its chaos through 2021. Even the signers could not imagine the challenges the 2021 “ourselves and our Posterity” face. For example, voluntarily-dependent citizens and illegal voters who could not care less about U.S. intentions.

I don’t think so. First, are you referencing Susan Cain’s book, or something else?

If the book, I listened to a 7 minute Cain TED talk and my first impression is not so good.

First, “revolution” is a negative term. I’d prefer to advocate “Introvert-personality Appreciation and Facilitation” or better.

Second, Cain’s talk seems to accuse the extroverted-half AND management of abusing introverts. Necessity&justice require participation in responsible-human-independence, and it is frustrating when a fellow-citizen resists “being put on the spot” to contribute to necessity in the most judicious way. It’s doubly frustrating when management defends stonewalling due to personality. The creative “quite” person yields to less creative solutions by allowing extroverts to take command. Management’s job is to encourage&facilitate the introvert’s timely participation.

I think the introvert can self-improve for the long run. For example, the Dale Carnegie course “How to Win Friends and Influence People” can help.

I did not hear Cain considering what could be dubbed “Quiet Withdrawal” rather than “revolution”.

I don’t think so. The media has a business plan that assumes the majority of the people are irretrievably gullible. The current media-split is divided: civil-religion vs secularism. I’m thinking. “Being” infers acting . . . with goodness and empathy. I assume action is taken.

First, there’s necessity&justice: Is it necessary to act? Who is to judge that the action is justice?

Second, the kind and good-hearted fellow-citizen neither initiates nor accommodates injury to-or-from any property, person, or association, including self and family. Did the action cause unintended injury?

Third, goodness&empathy ought to encourage&facilitate like behavior by the other party. Did the action reinforce dependency, such as begging, gaming religion, crime, tyranny, or worse?

Call it the journal of ineluctable-discovery or of responsible-human-independence or of human ethics.

The intention of research is to devise tests to evaluate heartfelt imagination to discern whether there’s opportunity for discovery or not; to discern whether what is imagined may be ineluctable-evidence or not. If the test reveals a mirage instead of evidence, the work is stopped until new instruments of perception that could change the mirage-conclusion have been invented. If there seems to be evidence, new tests are devised to confirm the initial conclusion. If the test results are positive, there may be new research to determine how to responsibly employ the discovery. If so, the discovery is utilized with caution that a newly discovered instrument of perception might require review of the conclusions.

This method of research has been dubbed “the scientific method”. The product of research is discovery, not “science”. Statistics is a tool of efficiency, and researchers are careful to constrain statistics’ influence on research-conclusions. Research without integrity is self-deceiving, and integrity without research is egocentric.

Pseudo-researchers devise data-gathering on subjective premises specifically to prove the researcher’s opinion or that of their employer. They design questions, select survey subjects, and evaluate the answers so that the results confirm the premise. For example, to show that Republicans favor gun-control, the survey questionnaire might ask if the applicant is Republican or other, a hunter, their marriage status, and whether or not they have children. If the data show that Republican, single, non-hunters, without children favor gun-control, they report the study conclusion. If not, they send it to Coventry/File-13, report to their employer, and take home the pay.

The ordinary fellow-citizen ought to carefully study the suggestion in Genesis 1:26-28: the-God will neither 1) usurp female&male-human-beings’s responsibility to constrain chaos on earth nor 2) provide government officials that prevent tyranny over fellow-citizens. Citizens who do not constrain chaos in their way of living voluntarily subject themselves to the civic-citizen’s responsible-human-independence.

I appreciate learning your view of the East. I will not accommodate imposition. I refer you to John Locke, died 1704, for authoritative views on the West. Western tradition emerged from Catholic/Protestant wars. Civil war ended constitutionally for England with the 1689 dictate that the monarchy must be Protestant.

I live in the United States, and most fellow-citizens still wait for independence from Anglo-American tradition. I read and write to practice&encourage responsible-human-independence (RHI) to fellow-citizens, both locally and globally.

I recently discovered that the 1787 U.S. Constitution is areligious (having read many times “godless”, and error). It is a proffered proposition for public discipline “in order to” develop RHI “to ourselves and our Posterity”. The 5 disciplines are: integrity, justice, peace, strength and prosperity, leaving religion/none to privacy. By not specifying “God” the U.S. is humble to the-God, whatever it is. But behold legislative tyranny.

The first 9 states of 12 framing states to ratify the draft Constitution agreed to an English-mimic, a Bill of Rights, ratified by 10 of 14 states in 1791. The preamble was falsely labeled “secular” by the Protestant First Congress. Congress’s tyranny in the Bill of Rights has been accommodated by the entity We the People of the United States ever since, lately under a Judeo-Catholic Supreme Court. Talk about tyranny! These day, England beholds the Ethiopian Tewahedo Church, also emerged from Jewish literature.

Because the West is dominated by tyranny over a 5,000 year old political philosophy coming from the Middle East, the U.S., under Anglo-American tradition, has not accepted its opportunity to fulfill a 3,000 year old interpretation, recorded in Genesis 1:26-28. However, the U.S. has been in operation only 232 years, and I think it is now at its religious-pride abyss: a civic reform has begun. “Civic” refers to fidelity in human connections.

Many U.S. citizens practice these principles without the articulation. I think (but don’t know) that a person who is civically transparent, pleasantly encouraging, and sincerely humble meets the obligations of a human-being, the most powerful living species.

Not only should convicted criminals have no rights, ordinary citizens have only one valid right: the opportunity to develop humble-integrity toward the-ineluctable-truth. A few accomplish it, but no culture, civilization, or nation encourages and facilitates responsible-human-independence.

Homo sapien emerged and has been developing for some 300,000 years. The last mixed-homo died off some 10,000 years ago, and grammar emerged 5,000 years ago. About that time, monotheisms started dominating theism’s competition to cajole the-God into usurping humankind’s responsibility for order and flourishing to all species and to the earth. This political philosophy was expressed 2,000 years later by Hebrew scholars in Genesis 1:26-28: it’s not “my” novel idea.

The human-being can&must hold governments and doctrinal Gods accountable for the chaos they each cause and exacerbate by partnering. Persons who choose to develop as a human-being may eventually accept that they have the individual power, the individual energy, and the individual authority (HIPEA) to constrain chaos in their way of living. I call them “civic-citizens” where “civic” implies behavior that neither initiates nor accommodates injury to-or-from any person, association, or property, including self and family. They practice and encourage responsible-human-independence.

Other persons prefer dependency, and employ their HIPEA to game welfare, ply religion, commit crime, or impose tyranny. They are dissident fellow-citizens and therefore should not be allowed to vote. Civic-fellow-citizens pay for law enforcement plus amendments in order to advance statutory-justice. Thereby, they encourage dissidents to adopt civic-integrity. The dissident citizen who is suffering law enforcement has the right to reform, unless the sentence is death.

Recently, I re-read Genesis 1, again, and became fascinated with Verses 26-28. After a few weeks, the experience reminded me of 2 decades fascination with Agathon’s speech in Plato’s “Symposium”. Agathon remarks that prior speakers explained Eros’ influence to men and gods, and he was going to speak of Eros’ character. What follows seems to mirror adoration of Jesus. Eventually, I thought either the gospels plagiarized Plato or Jesus influenced Agathon some 450 years before Jesus was born. I filed that as historical suggestion to support the apostles’ claim that, in response to heritage questions, Jesus said, “Before Abraham was born I AM”.

In light of exponentially developing discovery in the past 5,000 years, Genesis 1:26-28 may be reasonably interpreted as follows: The species female&male-human-being can&must independently develop order&fruitfulness to living species and to the earth. In other words, neither the-God nor government can usurp responsible-human-independence. That is to say, each person ought-to constrain chaos in their way of living, in order to aid homo-sapien’s responsibility to lessen chaos on earth.

“Before Abraham was born” covers both Agathon’s speech and the political philosophy expressed in Genesis 1. And Jesus’ reported statement “Be perfect” comports to both “in [the-God’s] image” and the Genesis-1 inference you-can&must independently develop order.

The person who accepts responsible-independence cannot be influenced by either government bestowal of freedom and liberty or religious blessing and mysterious afterdeath. Too often liberty is license to let fellow-citizens’ blood. I read that Jesus said, “Render unto Caesar . . . “, emphasizing responsible-human-independence. In other words, the-God could have handled Caesar releasing Jesus from the Rabbis.

As a student of Jesus, I perceive Jesus’s influence on both Agathon and the 5,000 year-old political philosophy in Genesis 1. However, I see no need to resolve the question: Did the ancient suggestion come from the-God, from Jesus, or from civic-necessity&justice? I look to “ourselves and our Posterity” to discover statutory justice.

In my fourth quarter century I practice&promote the humble-integrity required for responsible-human-independence, low as my unique personal-standards may be. I think humankind is entering an achievable better-future.
