Open heart more important than open mind

The comment box below invites readers to comment.

Phil Beaver seeks to collaborate on the ineluctable truth. Ineluctable means:  Not to be assailed, avoided, broken, changed, escaped, mystified, neglected, obfuscated, rationalized, resisted, revoked, or voided. Some people erroneously imagine limiting the ineluctable truth, for example, trying to change it.

"Civic" refers to citizens who collaborate for individual happiness with civic integrity more than for the city, state, nation, or society. Civic citizens neither initiate nor accommodate harm to or from anyone. Civic citizens are reliably responsible in connections and transactions.

Consider writing a personal paraphrase of the preamble, which offers fellow citizens mutual appreciation:  For discussion, I convert the preamble’s predicate phrases to nouns and paraphrase it for my interpretation of its proposal as follows: The civic faction, We the People of the United States, proffer & practice 6 public pursuits —- integrity, justice, safety, strength, prosperity, and responsibility, “in order to” pursue happiness “to ourselves and our Posterity”. I want to improve my interpretation by listening-to and considering other citizens and their interpretations yet would preserve the original, 1787 text, unless it is amended by the civic-people.

It seems the Supreme Court occasionally refers to it, and no one with status has challenged whether or not the preamble is a legal statement. The fact that it changed this independent country from a confederation of states to a union of states deliberately managed by appreciative fellow citizens convinces me the preamble is legal. Equity in opportunity and outcome is shared by the faction who collaborate for statutory justice, We the People of the United States.

Every citizen has equal opportunity to either trust-in and collaborate-on the goals stated in the preamble or be dissident to the agreement. I think 2/3 of citizens try somewhat to use the preamble but many do not articulate commitment to the goals. However, it seems less than 2/3 understand that “posterity” implies grandchildren to both born Americans and legal immigrants. Congressional freedom of religion, which fellow citizens have no means to constrain, oppresses freedom to develop integrity. This can be remedied by changing the First Amendment from “prohibiting” to “promoting”.

Selected theme from this month

Open mind and open heart

It’s not too late to discover Yeshua’s influence to the civic good. Civic means reliable responsibility in human connections and transactions, in order to mutually constrain the bad and aid the good on earth.

As we watch the year 2024 unfold, it seems that European style social democracy is dominating the United State republic: the proffered rule of law managed by the civic faction of We the People of the United States.

I voted for Donald Trump 4 times, and am prepared to vote for him twice more, assuming he remains a viable candidate. If not, I will vote for the next best option, perhaps the Republican nominee or maybe Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. The Democrats seem to mimic European political hope.

Meanwhile, I work hard to pay the bills, broadly support my family, neighbors and friends and maintain my physical and psychological health. I’ve been doing that in self-interest for almost 7 decades. I always had an open mind and discovered a couple years ago that I also have an open heart.

Unexpectedly, accepting the open heart prompted me to privately alert a fellow citizen if I perceive they plan or initiate civic error. It isn’t easy, yet most experiences have been delightful. Often, expressing my concern leads to discovery that my perception was in error. Other times, the other person appreciates my suggestion and makes use of it.

Recently, in one case, a substantial contract was completed rather than terminated by the contractor. In 2 cases benefits to me were each near one thousand dollars. In the most rewarding case, I now share a friendship that was not previously possible. In a few cases, there was no response, and I left responsibility with the other party. In other words, just as I am empowered and authorized to alert a fellow citizen, they may and can choose to ignore my concern.

In that case, I am in Part 2 of a process for resolution of concern. In Part 2, I can either accept the other party’s resistance or approach another fellow citizen, inform them of my concern, then ask them to go with me to discuss with the first party. Part 2 is more complicated (the second party may disagree with me or in agreement face first party refusal to listen to our presentation), so my concern must be high if I pursue Part 2.

In the one high-concern case I experienced, the second fellow citizen had direct information and joined with me in approaching the first fellow citizen, writing a statement of the facts. The first party ignored the collaborative notice, which invited me to consider Part 3: public disclosure of the dispute.

Part 3, in this case, involved small claims court. The judge decided in my favor. This process was time consuming and frustrating yet worth the effort toward civic integrity. I recommend small claims court, but don’t expect a second experience.

In these incidents I perceive the other party also learned and is glad for the experience, perhaps excepting the court judgement. I feel that other party considered it a cost of his business plan.

Yeshua’s message about resolution of civic disputes is briefly presented in Matthew 18:15-18, Complete Jewish Bible (CJB), 1998. Failure to resolve issues leaves them to infinity.

Unfortunately, another person, Kefa, confused Yeshua’s “[win] back your brother” with “forgive him”, and the church vaguely promotes forgiveness rather than resolution. However, a civic people may and can reform the church.

A 5500 year old Sumerian political philosophy, expressed in Genesis 1:26-28, CJB, makes it clear that humankind is in charge of constraining the bad and effecting the good on earth. The religion-free 1787 United States Constitution accommodates Genesis 1:26-28.

The civic faction, We the People of the United States, erred when the 1789 generation allowed the first congress to restore Anglo-American religion to itself--Congress. That tyranny may and can be remedied by changing the First-Amendment-religion-clause from “prohibiting” to “promoting”.

The Internet empowers the modern civic faction to separate factual-reality from mystery. It takes a quarter-century for an infant to complete the wisdom-building parts of the brain. Providing time for necessary experience and observation, an adult ought not parent until age 35 or so, implying grand parenting at age 70 or so. Human being (verb) is too powerful and authoritative to be wasted on self-gratification without appreciation for the laws of physics.

Civic citizens may accept the humility to rule to the good and constrain the bad on earth. Thereby, adults may at last reform, in order to care for Progeny more than satisfy personal passions.

The Church emotionally led the abortion debate during the past 7 decades on the erroneous claim that life begins at conception, when human viability begins when a woman produces a physically and psychologically whole egg. Psychology is a progeny of physics.
CONTINUED

CONTINUATION

Immediately, Congress may and can initiate legislation to protect ova from wanton women plus women from wayward men yet upholding an authentic couple’s opportunity to bond without risking unwanted conception. The civic faction may end the church-state partnership without compromising individuals’ responsible beliefs.

@theRock and other legal voters

Genesis 1:26-28 informs us that human beings may and can rule to the good and constrain the bad on earth. Neither the God nor government will usurp humankind's responsibility. Vote in your self-interest. Endorse in your self-interest.

Quoting the Complete Jewish Bible, "Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image . . . and let them rule over [other species.]  in his own image . . . male and female he created them. God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over . . .  the earth.”

The God expressed humility in leaving it to humankind to rule the earth. Each of us can mirror the God's humility by accepting the responsibility to effect the good and constrain the bad in our ways of living.

The religion-free 1787 United States Constitution accommodates the 5500 year old political philosophy expressed by Semitic-speaking people in Genesis 1:26-28. It's evident in both the processes for amendment by the people and in the intentions sentence of the preamble.

"If I find myself in the right context, I might say Yeshua when I speak English." I encourage you to keep this practice but lean more toward Yeshua. The other names lose subscribers in their sectarian pursuits and they never know they are neglecting the precocious 12 year old who knew Genesis 1:26-28 so well that he could astound any rabbi who gave him the time of day. And when the emperor's emissary queried him, he said, "I have come to witness to the truth". I think Yeshua was referring to the ineluctable truth some 1500 years before the word "ineluctable" was invented. #USpreambler

@Hunting Targ , I appreciate your comments -- especially your fidelity to Yeshua, a person who is neither the church constructed Jesus nor competitive with Christ. See my facebook, "Phil Beaver" for more about my "discovery", at age 81, of a precocious boy born to Yosef and Miryam and not to be slighted by not using his name.  Based on mitochondrial DNA studies, I feel kin to them. It's impossible for me to feel kin to either Jesus or to  Christ. (I accept that I could be wrong., but don't think so.) #USpreambler

Quora

https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-name-of-the-law-that-requires-individuals-to-follow-laws-even-if-they-disagree-with-them/, Anon

I know of no law that requires individuals to follow laws even if they disagree with them. It is a practice that flows from self-interest in statutory justice, which is the continuous pursuit of flawless law codes and enforcement.

Human being (verb) is so powerful, authoritative, and active that need for legislation cannot be considered before an injustice is perceived. Perception is insufficient to establish that legislation is needed and if so, how it should be crafted. Often, no law is preferred to bad law or false adjudication.

A famous illustration is Socrates tried and accepting execution for teaching false Gods when no man knows the God. Plato’s Socrates acted to defend the law, even though the law was corrupt.

Pursuit of statutory justice is the key to a republican form of government. In democracy, groups compete to constrain law in their favor rather than to pursue civic integrity as time unfolds.

In the United States, the civic faction, We the People of the United States, has not, so far accepted the intentions stated in the religion-free 1787 U.S. Constitution. The majority, in 1789, allowed Congress to authorize Congressional divinity under God, ignoring Socrates’ point:  No man knows the God.

Aliens to civic integrity under We the People of the United States are attacking the United States republic with brazen lawlessness.

The civic faction needs to insist on a constitutional amendment to require a license to vote. Qualifications for the license might include proof of citizenship, a statement of how and why the U.S. Constitution guarantees a republican form of government, and demonstration of how the person has, during the recent 3 years, supported the intentions sentence in the preamble to the Constitution. That sentence begins “in order to” and ends “to ourselves and our Posterity”.

Born in America, I prefer Merriam-Webster usage. For “subjectivity” they have “the quality, state, or nature of being subjective”, for which I choose to address “of or relating to the essential being of that which has substance, qualities, attributes, or relations”. For “essential” they have “of the utmost importance”.

It seemed logical to consider the definition of “subject”, and “that of which a quality, attribute, or relation may be affirmed or in which it may inhere” seems appropriate. I wanted to find “object” an antonym, but did not. However, “subject” is listed as an antonym of “object”. Uses of “object” that I would address include “something material that may be perceived” and “something mental or physical toward which thought, feeling, or action is directed”.

Each person may face self-evaluation. Individuals may experience, observe, and study the laws of physics and progeny, and choose either to accommodate the bad or aid the good to life on earth. Physics’ progeny includes mathematics, economics, biology, and psychology.

You consider weighing species: ant, honeybee, cat, dog, human, rhinoceros, and elephant I listed by typical size. People who avoid, change, or resist the good choose to live like mineral, vegetable, animal, spirit, or villain. This actual reality is as old as sex and slavery.

The political solution was suggested at least 5500 years ago in polytheistic, Sumer civilization. Successive kings led development of codes of law and rules of enforcement wherein civic citizens constrain slackers and rebels and execute villains. The last of these codes was published by their Babylonian conquer, Hammurabi.

Soon, competitive monotheists engaged the political philosophy, and a competitor modified the Sumerian political philosophy in Genesis 1:26-28. Read it in the Complete Jewish Bible and in the New International version to receive the word “rule”. I think Genesis 1:26-28 cites what the laws of physics inform us: mystery left it to female and male human being to constrain chaos and pursue the good on earth.

Yes, each of us should re-examine human being (verb). Authentic human-being is so powerful and authoritative that It takes a quarter century for a person to acquire comprehension and intention to pursue the practice. It takes another couple quarter centuries to begin to perceive personal progress.

The religion-free, 1787 United States Constitution accommodates Genesis 1:26-28’s message.

Brian Adler:

Thank you for a brilliant answer, Phil. I enjoyed reading it.

Please let me ruminate on it and reckon just how it serves to address the relative importance of animal lives.

PRB again,
People don’t realize that the key to quora-excellence is brilliant questions. Some of my words and phrases can be found in prior posts. However, the arrangement and new thoughts came from your question and its presentation. Thank you, Brian.

Extending to your rumination, consider the thoroughbred horse. As a fold, it stood on 4 legs in 1 hour, found its mare’s tit in 3 hours, received training, and peaked in performance in 3 years. It takes an informed person 25 years to gain understanding and intention to develop human being (verb) and another couple decades to mature as a human-being. A few perfect their unique person just before death arrives.

In evaluating choices, it seems essential to include the key consideration. Justice seems the key to responsibility regarding law versus people.

Written law should be continually reviewed to discover injustice and reform to pursue if not attain statutory justice. Unjust law that could kill people or ruin property can and must be reformed.

Should injustice be upheld while reform is considered? If there are no actual threats, an injunction can be used to stay injustice while statutory/legislative deliberation is underway. Delay could have served Socrates, who was unjustly convicted. Delay could have served Yeshua, who was unjustly convicted.

However, if people are being killed due to an unjust law, civil resistance is called for, and the resisters need the power to overcome law enforcement, be it the police (domestic tyranny) or the military (alien attack). Moreover, the resisters need alignment with justice.

Consider, for example, the American Revolution against English tyranny. The British colonists could not have defeated England. However, the signers of the Declaration of Independence had relationships with Spain and France, neither of which wanted England to gain control of the Mississippi River. The decisive battle, at Yorktown, Virginia, was planned and dominantly manned by France and partially funded by Spain. The Americans’ partnership with France and Spain and George Washington’s humility were brilliant.

On the other hand, the American Civil War was grounded in errant Christian opinion that the God had a plan for redeeming blacks from the sins of their ancestors and that abolitionists were evil for proposing to accelerate the God’s plan. After initiation in 1854 in Bleeding Kansas, 7 states met in February, 1861, and decided to fire on the United States. The military ratio was 7 slave states against 27 non-slave states. Abraham Lincoln knew this overpowering strength and therefore is not my hero. Seven states firing on Fort Sumter was folly on two counts: insufficient power and unjust cause.

Civic people employ law to pursue statutory justice according to the ineluctable truth.

When “truth” is merely opinion, it is better to say “I don’t know” than to represent your opinion as truth. For example, the statement “God allows if not causes bad events” is opinion rather than truth.

Actually, “truth” itself seems controversial. Humankind needs a more specific expression for actual reality. Actual reality does not respond to human endeavors. The laws of physics and its progeny operate regardless of human achievement, so human efficiency pursues discovery based on evidence.

The product of the discovery process is “the ineluctable truth”. Among the incomparable adjectives, “ineluctable” seems the most independent of human constructs. Merriam-Webster (MW) reports usage as “not to be avoided, changed, or resisted”. The “or” implies all 3 modifiers operate. The modifiers can be used to categorize less specific adjectives.

First, avoidance is attempted with infallible, immutable, uncontestable, and incontrovertible.

Second, change is attempted when the object is replaced. For example, reason attributes the cause of the laws of physics to God and constructs doctrine. The consequence is competitive constructs without evidence. If researchers eventually discover the cause of the laws of physics, there’ll be no incentive to call it “the God”: the cause of the laws of physics is sufficient.

Third, adjectives suggesting resistance include inescapable, inevitable,

I don’t know the ineluctable truth yet experience and observe consequences.

I think Genesis 1:26-28, New International Version, reflects actual reality: the human being may and can perfect order to the good and constraint to the bad in living his or her life yet is part of humankind. The person who accepts power and authority to choose the good never repeats a mistake and may pursue personal perfection before death. Yet they are subject to fellow citizens’ mistakes and choices to the bad.

Paraphrasing the reference: whatever controls what-is leaves it to humankind to choose the good and constrain the bad on earth. The laws of physics prove that choosing the good is in a person’s self-interest, yet many people invite consequences of the bad. To the extent that a person can avoid consequences of bad choices, he or she is free. However, the person who habitually accommodates the bad is a slave to consequences.

(The 1787, religion-free United States Constitution proffers these principles “to ourselves and our Posterity.)

https://www.facebook.com/douglas.moreman/posts/10231665745401660, April 16, 2024

I'm reminded of President Ike Eisenhower's warning against the Industrial-Military Complex -- an unbridled money maker at taxpayer's expense. Also, it's unsettling that yesterday I worked very hard clearing limbs to make way for back-yard mowing service the first time this year.

Thank goodness for global relevance from articles like Dan M. Berger, "Israel's Other War, Against Hezbollah", April 10-16, 2024. The Epoch Times, which seems to reliably share the concerns of people living the hell in Israel. Interestingly, neither Google nor Edge nor my subscription allowed me to access Berger's article. I hope you can find it. I will store my hard copy for awhile.

All this, of necessity, detracts from my current work: Sharing personal discovery that when the Bible says we need to speak, write, and share a name, it's authentically Yeshua (Aramaic) rather than Jesus (competitive English-label). It's wonderful to think the civic influence that helped me to a good choices in life was expressed by an ancient person of another name. Also, church can no longer confound me with One, Trinity, Christ, Satan, and other phantasms intended to distract me from the God -- whatever constrains the consequences of human choices to act.

Berger reports nearby towns in Israel overlooking Lebanon, with different ethnic majorities: 100 % Christian, 1/2 Christian and 2/3 Muslim, Jewish, and Druze. I wonder if such people have always been aware of Yeshua. I am glad that at age 80 I took interest in the Complete Jewish Bible.

Either way, I do not expect a second coming. I think Genesis 1:26-28 makes it clear that humankind is one group whose members may choose the good, the bad, or apathy in dealing with villainy. The civic citizens may and can constrain dissidents and rebels and annihilate villains. The sooner most people accept the God, whatever it may be, and individual power, authority, and self-interest to constrain the bad so as to choose the good, the better.

Yeshua is alive after 2000 years, because in each generation (more than 200, so far) there are a few who discover, practice, and further his civic influence. The chaos the world is suffering might accelerate interest in promoting the leading edge of political philosophy to the good. Contrary to the bad in humankind we are taught, I think I'll observe reform developing before death arrives to me.

Please read the Wikipedia article on "Yeshua" and follow your curiosity. I am concerned that it was actually, really Yeshua who said something like this: if you don't pursue my name and thoughts, you can’t aid the civic good, because I encourage reform when needed.

As I understand it, the ancient Greek translation of the Torah, 250 years before Josef and Myriam begot Yeshua, required Ἰησοῦς for Yeshua and Joshua; also, χριστός for prophesied, anointed king. When Yeshua proved to be precocious, he drew attention, and Greek speaking Jews called him Isou and other variations of Ἰησοῦς accepting Hebrew speakers calling him Yeshua. And vice versa.

About 17 years after Jerusalem executed Yeshua, Paul objected to the Torah requirement of circumcision, because it discouraged pagan interest in Yeshua. John seemed to prefer Torah adherence, but Peter thought the pagans should be accommodated. James proposed a compromise for Paul to carry with him.

However, Paul traveled in Turkey and Greece promoting Yeshua as savior of souls in afterdeath rather than promoter of civic integrity for life. Greek was the dominant language in Pauline churches, so Yeshua was spoken less frequently than Ἰησοῦς.  Also, a title rather than a surname, χριστός, attached to an entity that differs from Yeshua.

To anyone who has been flummoxed by competitive monotheism, as I have been for about 80 of my 81 years, it is good to know that the civic integrity that can be discovered in the Bible probably are endorsed by Yeshua. I think Yeshua's civic influence facilitates an achievable better future for humankind.

I think Yeshua is good news for future church.

Students don't "deserve" Biden's bribe and the civic faction, We the People of the United States, does not "deserve" the alien powers that control the Democrat Party.

Once a civic citizen always an appreciator of veterans.

https://www.facebook.com/emily.toth.10, April 13, 2024

There's no comfort in learning that scholars think the person who lived, preached, and practiced civic integrity was called Yeshua by his mom and dad.

True or false, I grew up to think that if I don't appreciate his name, I will not benefit from his 2000 year old encouragement to resist the bad and choose the good.

On the other hand, if all this energy was spent on discovery of Yeshua, an achievable better future might be established.

https://www.facebook.com/iamnumerouno, April 13, 2024

Shannon, thank you for inspiration.

This daily thought is a wonderful opportunity to illustrate the impact of Genesis 1:26-28 on human psychology, a progeny of physics.

My paraphrase of Genesis 1:26-28 is this: female and male human being has sole responsibility to resist the bad and pursue the good on earth. The rest of the Bible expresses the consequence of personally neglecting duty to human being (verb).

The human-being is so powerful and authoritative that it takes 25 years for its body to complete the wisdom parts of its brain (23 years for females). Youth who are aware/informed take the personal responsibility to acquire the understanding and intention to pursue adult human being. If so, after a couple more quarter centuries, that person may perceive pursuit of personal perfection. Perhaps a few human-beings achieve the happiness of unique perfection before death arrives.

In contrast, the sheep dog threatens the wolf on instinct. The wolf perceives that injury could mean death, so instinctively avoids sheep-dog encounters. The shepherd observed this competition and owns a sheep dog for enterprise. Reciprocity grounds appreciation between shepherd and dog.

Not every person appreciates Genesis 1:26-28, even though the laws of physics clarify the message as experiences and observations march on. Some people accommodate or choose being mineral, vegetable, animal, spirit, or villain rather than responsible human-being -- civic citizen to the world.

The civic citizen appreciates fellow-citizens and pursues statutory justice, in order to motivate dissidents and rebels to reform. Fellow citizens cooperate to annihilate habitual villains, in order to establish that habitual villainy invites death.

Appreciation of life motivates observance of Genesis 1:26-28, a political philosophy that is at least 5500 years old and astonishingly neglected and institutionally repressed.

https://www.facebook.com/emily.toth.10, April 12, 2024

I was reared in East Tennessee with at least four competitive brands of Bible thumpin. I came here to practice chemical engineering and later met a 26 year-old school teacher who is the most serenely confident person I know. Through her, I have a glimpse of what it means to be Louisiana-French Catholic, with 2 Canadian grandparents, one Parisian, and one German.

Somehow, she got the Genesis 1:26-28 message: Mystery left female and male human being responsible to choose to constrain the bad and promote the good on earth -- unto perfection.

The rest of the Bible reports the chaos that results when human-beings assume churches and nations usurp personal responsibility to constrain chaos in life-style. The part of this I heard directly from her is this: God and Jesus are the same, and I, Cynthia, cannot explain the mystery.

I've spent many working weeks then weekends with this wonderful person, enjoying all kinds of music and art, here in Louisiana and across southern Europe. We met many wonderful people in the dancehalls and festivals of Louisiana (thank you, Gina and others) and at fire-walking, Kalo Pascha, and other festivals in Greece. My wife never has to ponder: she just quietly makes people happy wherever she is.

She taught me that of all the gifts, unpretentious humility is the best. Happily, I shared that opinion about her with her dad.

In Louisiana, there are many people who pursue perfection to constrain the bad and practice the good on earth. It took this Tennessee boy 25 years to get the message and as much again to perceive reform.

Sacks' post reminded me to re-read again Donald Trump's inaugural speech. Two sentences stand out. First, "What truly matters is not which party controls our government, but whether our government is controlled by the people." Second, "I will fight for you with every breath in my body – and I will never, ever let you down."

By surviving the Biden administration's politicization of the United States Constitution, Trump is fulfilling his promise, and I can think of no other person in history who has done as much. The question is: are there enough voters who want government by, of, and for "ourselves and our Posterity", quoting the preamble?

I think there are, and hope I get to cast my 5th and 6th votes for Trump. Mike Pence showed again that religious beliefs ought not override integrity to the people, so I hope for the best in Trump's VP deliberations.

I agree: you live the tattoo's statement. Thank you for sharing.

What's wonderful is that you're not alone. Yeshua, the precocious son of ancients Josef and Miryam, comes shinning through each generation's political and religious barriers and never misleads people who intend to aid the good and oppose the bad on earth.

We advance Yeshua's impact to humankind when we practice and promote his civic influence, which begins with affirmation of Genesis 1:26-28, NIV and CJB: rule the way you live. The mysterious God is humble enough to allow a person to choose the good and oppose the bad on earth: each person may and can be humble like the God. Through reliable responsibility, each person may preserve their opportunity to choose the good.

Yeshua's affirmation is not critical to the individual, as evidenced by the political and spiritual opposition, especially church competition, each generation experiences.

Yeshua's contemporaries used Koine Greek interpretations of "Yeshua" and "messiah". Politics and religion developed Latin, then English surrogates, "Jesus" and "Christ", to obfuscate if not eliminate our ancient brother, Yeshua. Some people know about Yeshua yet do not insist on his name -- accept a substitute. I reformed, yet will talk "Jesus", avoiding competitive titles such as "Messiah" or "Christ" and others.

Yeshua, conceived from Miryam's ovum, had mitochondrial DNA like ours: homo sapiens descended from one woman who lived about 155,000 years ago. Thus, his family is ancient-kin to subsequent generations. His brother Yaakov has been compromised to "James" and to history, his sisters aren't even named.

Because they are gods facing death (see John 10:34 and Psalm 82:6-7), some people practice Genesis 1:26-28, never having learned about Yeshua, his rearing under Josef and Miryam during typical political and religious turmoil, and his unique understanding of the Torah and Jewish history. In other words, while Yeshua affirms Genesis 1:26-28, Genesis 1:26-28 does not affirm Yeshua. It is no burden to me if Yeshua was another god facing death; I don't know.

I'm just glad Yeshua suggested that Phil Beaver can pursue perfection in the image of the God, mysterious as that entity is (see Matthew 5:48). What's new for me is that the Internet empowers me to discover the facts and earn my opinion.

My 2-part opinion is this: it is not too late for humankind to accept the mystery of the God and adopt Genesis 1:26-28s message: only you may rule the way you live, and civic citizens affirm Yeshua's encouragement: pursue perfection of your person.

Thank you, Sherri,

It's up to fellow citizens to effect that separation: neither the God nor government can usurp civic responsibility. "Civic" means reliably responsible to the good on earth. It takes intentions, perseverance, and creativity to pursue the good and constrain the bad.

The religion-free, 1787 United States Constitution (minus the Anglo-American Bill of Rights) affirms what the Sumerians had surmised 5500 years ago and Semitic-speaking people recorded 3900 years ago in Genesis 1:26-28: the God, whatever it is, has the humility to leave to humankind the responsibility to rule to the good and constrain the bad to the earth. Each person may choose humble reliability to rule their life to the good; or not.

Then 2000 years ago came Miryam and Josef, who bore their son, the precocious Yeshua. Yeshua studied local law and ceremony and reformed both -- despite opposition that continues to this moment. His outstanding message is: you can pursue perfection in living. (I write opinion, because I do not know the ineluctable truth.)

In Matthew 19:3-8, he said people's hearts had hardened but living persons may and can reform. Yeshua said a person can, during life, pursue human being (verb) and mirror the God's perfection (Matthew 5:48). Accordingly, a few people never repeat a mistake. It would not surprise me if Sherri is like that and improving. Since Yeshua did not write, it isn't easy.

When a person listens to opinion/doctrine that negates or displaces Yeshua's civic influence, they risk offending the family who named him Yeshua, the man himself, and the God. Our civic integrity applies to dead citizens, fellow citizens, and "our Posterity", quoting the United States Constitution. Thomas Jefferson's "wall of separation" frees fellow citizens to consider Yeshua's opinion.

To listen to the authentic Yeshua requires separation of the ineluctable truth from mystery. To appreciate surrogate influence invites risk I do not want. I did not arrive at this commitment alone and appreciate the continuum of fellow citizens: past, present, and future.

P.S.: Why does Facebook spell-alert "Yeshua"? Check it on Wikipedia.

Then came Miryam and Josef, who bore the precocious Yeshua. Yeshua studied local law and ceremony and reformed them despite opposition.

For example, in Matthew 19:3-8, he said people's hearts had hardened but living persons may and can reform. He said a person can, during life, pursue human being (verb) and mirror perfection (Matthew 5:48). A few people never repeat a mistake.

Alas, institutions co-opted Yeshua's unique stewardship as competitive divinity, and the consequence is a 2024 world bemused by sex. It's not too late for reform.

By merely deciding to, humankind can decipher Yeshua's messages that are hidden in the competitive Bible babel, practice them, and expand them to this generation's necessities.

For example, find the positive in metaphors like in Matthew 10:38, "And anyone who does not take up his execution-stake and follow me is not worthy of me." It speaks to me to say: if you have not mastered my process for resolution and forgiveness (Matthew 18:15-20), you must change your attitude. Intentional society can do better than one person.

People may and can accept that civic integrity is a self-interest, Yeshua's chief message. Rejecting Yeshua's civic inflluence is a risk I cannot take.

"Civic" means reliably responsible to the good and constraining the bad on earth.

Physics and its progeny (everything including biology and psychology) is so complicated!

I wonder if someone's idea of breaking up glaciers and dragging them toward the equator would balance solar energy without unintended harm to humankind's responsibility to the earth (Genesis 1:26-28).

"Can you think of any examples of that?"

General R. E. Lee wrote to his wife, 5 years before the Civil War and 2 years into Bleeding Kansas that abolitionists were evil for trying to accelerate the Southern Christian's God's millennial plan to redeem the blacks for their ancestors sins. See https://encyclopediavirginia.org/primary-documents/letter-from-robert-e-lee-to-mary-randolph-custis-lee-december-27-1856/.

Somebody scream, because this is not common knowledge: The Civil War was caused by errant Christian preaching in Virginia and other slave states.

Both the Methodist Connexion and the Baptist convention split in the same year, 1845, north vs south, over abolitionism.

I'd like to focus on extreme talent for today.

One of the most tragic features of life is that few people read the New International Version of the Bible and associate with Yeshua, the person his parents addressed before he was a teacher on whom people would impose "Jesus" or the title "Christ". Yeshua's greatest power is to encourage humility. From Yeshua, people can find civic integrity like Matthew 19:3-8, which I quote,

"Some Pharisees came to [Yeshua] to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?” “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?” [Yeshua] replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. "

The key to the NIV version is "united to his wife", instead of "united with" or "cleave to". The authentic man is ineluctably committed to his wife and their spouse hood, her ova, their offspring, their grandchildren, and beyond. He appreciates the four grandparents who so cherish their two children. I have observed, in New Orleans, five generations celebrating the music at a festival at Audubon Park.

Are there any novels about romance under Yeshua's 19:3-8 civic influence? Does one suggest how men's hearts hardened "from the beginning"?

https://www.facebook.com/phil.beaver.52/posts/10161145611258599,

Yeshua’s image of me is what I hope to be.

https://www.facebook.com/mick.kassem, March 23

The problem is deeper than Morse suggests.

Humankind fears accepting Genesis 1:26-28 humility: I paraphrase, in the image of the God, you have the power and authority to constrain chaos in the way you live.

The rest of the Bible depicts the babel that occurs when humankind looks to the clergy partnering with politicians to pursue the good and not accommodate the bad to the earth, leaving management of other worlds to the God.

The God humbly leaves to humankind the responsibility to the earth. It is not too late for reform.

Yeshua affirmed Genesis 1:26-28, and both "Jesus" and the title "Christ" lessen Jeshua's civic impact.

I had not posted this message before, because it takes time to discover Yeshua in our world.

https://www.facebook.com/mick.kassem/posts/10227816966301978, and https://www.facebook.com/kimberly.m.beaver/posts/10228945583097931, March 31

Ongoing reform from competitive monotheism is new to me. His mom and dad called him Yeshua (English Joshua), which I prefer much as I prefer people to use my children’s names. For example, when someone calls Rebekah “Rebecca” it bothers me. When someone-who-knows-her spells Rebekah “Rebecca”, it offends me. I always report the “Rebecca” mistake when it comes to my attention, then forget the incident. In other words, I do not recall repetition in half a century.

This easy reflection reminds me of forgiveness, a demanding process Matthew attributed to Yeshua in Chapter 18:15-20. I paraphrase:

In private, report perceived offense; if resolved (maybe you reformed and made amends), all is well; if not, convince a fellow citizen to join your presentation then approach the accused to debate again; if not – no sympathizer, no second presentation, or no resolution, present your case to society. Society may treat the offending party as irresponsible, arrogant, or evil. The motivation is that whatever harm you tolerate continues to lessen living, while harms you resolve bring peace.

The importance of this process to Yeshua is evident in his parting commission to his apostles, reported in John 20:23, “If you forgive someone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you hold them, they are held.”

Both of the above references exemplify Yeshua’s use of metaphors that run deep to reliable responsibility to the good on earth. By accepting responsibility to address offenses when they arise, a person, aware or not, effects Yeshua’s resistance to the bad on earth. After the metaphors “I am”, light, the word, fulfill the law, and peace, Yeshua’s commission to forgive seems ineluctable. It is humankind’s responsibility to interpret the metaphors to the good rather than to compete.

Interestingly, once again, when a discovery appears in my life, a little research shows I am late yet not unhappy. I found a 4 minute introduction to the name, Yeshua. The etymology is explained as Yehoshua–Yeshua–Iēsous–IESVS–Iesu–Jesus through transliteration rather than translation. “By the time the New Testament was written, the Septuagint had already transliterated ישוע (Yeshuaʿ) into Koine Greek as closely as possible in the 3rd-century BCE [250 years before Yeshua was born], the result being Ἰησοῦς (Iēsous).” A blunt, modern, heartfelt notice exists. His family history seems connected to everyone alive.

The “Christ” debate need not dominate humankind. In the Septuagint , “Christ comes from the Greek word χριστός (chrīstós), meaning ‘anointed one’.” Some Jewish clergy predicted an anointed one would unite the 12 tribes of Israel and grant their kingdom. A faction of contemporary Jews thought Yeshua was the anointed one, even after the people of Jerusalem executed him.

Many non-Jews developed Yeshua as the God, usually as the Trinity. That’s when competitive monotheism kicked in and “Christ” obscured Yeshua. That’s gotta stop, in my opinion, shocking as it may seem. Humankind is responsible to pursue the good rather than the bad on earth. Of course, I don’t know – only pursue the ineluctable truth.

Note: it does not take too long to review the commentary I found to support the above message:

The authentic man thinks he may and can be reliably responsible for life to his spouse hood and offspring including grandchildren and beyond. Unfortunately, physics and its progeny -- chemistry, biology, and psychology -- afford some men excess can and insufficient may.

Happily, I united to the most serenely confident, wittiest woman I ever knew. She accommodates my hopeful person after 54 years' marriage.

https://www.facebook.com/brenda.rivet, March 28

There's too much confusion about civic forgiveness. "Civic" refers to reliably responsible connections and transactions to the good rather than accommodating the bad. I advocate Yeshua's influence, which could aid a flummoxed society. It's found in Matthew 18:15-18, CJB:

“Moreover, if your brother commits a sin against you, go and show him his fault — but privately, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother. If he doesn’t listen, take one or two others with you so that every accusation can be supported by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to hear them, tell the congregation; and if he refuses to listen even to the congregation, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax-collector. Yes! I tell you people that whatever you prohibit on earth will be prohibited in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven."

In private, you may discover that you are at fault and apologize. If you have not won your friend over, finding someone who agrees with you and wants to join the discussion may be difficult. Two or three of you deciding to go public means serious offense, and constraint may be called for. Yeshua addressed the importance of resolving incidents.

I only recently discovered that the couple we know as Mary and Joseph named their first son Yeshua, which is Joshua transliterated. The path to "Jesus" is complex, and I accept it where necessary but prefer the name the family probably used: Yeshua.

I read agony in Gaza but no plans for peace. Let me share one: promote Yeshua’s civic influence.

It seems to me a Jewish couple, 2000 years ago, named their son Yeshua, in Aramaic equivalent to the Hebrew Yeshua; same word. And 200 years before Yeshua was born, through Greek transliteration Yeshua was also expressed as Jesus or a Greek equivalent.

No Messiah issue in this ancient development. Messiah and chosen people is a private, religious pursuit by some Hebrews, and poses no issue to my way of living, born Southern Baptist and born again when I chose to pursue human being (verb). I attend a Baptist church as a friend.

I feel that every good decision I made in my life was influenced by Jesus. However, my mom told me to always appreciate the name a family uses. Recently, I learned it probably is Yeshua. Therefore, I am grateful to Yesuha and want to learn more about his actions under the name his mom and dad used.

I am willing to substitute "Jesus" if the other party prefers Jesus. However, I leave it to the other party's privacy if they want to impose the title "Christ", because that introduces human division I do not support. Specifically, Christians assert salvation of soul in the person’s afterdeath, granted the Trinity’s gift, rather than salvation of the person who mirror’s thegod’s humility to the good.

Yeshua suggested that each human being may and can pursue perfect performance to the good, depending upon their intentions. I first read this suggestion in Ralph Waldo Emerson’s “Divinity School Address”, 1838 but now perceive it in Genesis 1:26-28 with no objections in the 1787 United States Constitution.

In the course of overcoming phantasies grounded in human sacrifice as a means of bargaining with thegod mystery, writers wrote condemnation of the descendants of Hagar, not only comparing a donkey, but enacting brutal war over possession of land.

If I were a descendant of Hagar, I don't think I could ever appreciate a person who defends that perhaps 3700 year old condemnation. It may and can be removed from Judeo-Christian affirmation.

The Bible suggests loving your enemy. I think pity is a form of love and vice versa. However, pity does not foster appreciation. And mutual appreciation is what descendants of Hagar and descendants of Sarai may and can achieve. They may and can accept, in thegod’s image, the humility to rule to the good and constrain the bad on earth.

Order is necessary, because there will always be dissidents, rebels, and villains.

PRB comment:

Whatever else may be said about Yeshua, he was a scholar and advocate of Genesis 1:26-28. He affirmed that we are gods facing death. If we, the descendants of Abraham adopt the god-like-humility to rule on earth, we can end human sacrifice once and for all, by ending war.

https://www.facebook.com/phil.beaver.52/posts/10161127977528599, March 25

Terry and Sackchasa, I appreciate your "likes".
I want to add that Genesis 1 is a Semitic-people's expression of Mesopotamian, I think Sumerian, political philosophy -- innocently attempting to assess 200,000 years' development of homo sapiens, the current mutation of human being (verb).
A faction of Semitic people wanted to prevent human sacrifice, so relocated from Sumer and established blood sacrifices excluding humans. A faction refined the sacrificial systems so as to include grains and oils, affordable by more people. From them developed a faction known as Israel, the nation and Hebrews, a diverse people. A small faction is Christian and another faction thinks Jesus fulfilled the Torah. Some of them think Jesus will return as the Messiah to unite Israel.
Non-Jews developed Christ, a title representing salvation of souls by thegod rather than salvation of people form intentional error (sin). Christ lessens Jesus' civic influence. We can lessen the impact of Christ by adopting the name Yeshua, which the boy's mom and dad used to address him. I advocate Yeshua's civic influence. "Civic" means reliably responsible to the good and against the bad in human connections and transactions.
I think every human would like to claim they are humble -- may be a god facing death. I don't know if sacrifice remains a part of political humility but hope not: acting to the good and constraining the bad seems sufficient. But I don't know.
God is a mystery, and 5500 years ago Sumerian cities had patron deities intended to aid citizens in war against invading aliens. Patron deities developed into competitive monotheism, which is more divisive than polytheism. Think of language's Babel.
The key to Genesis 1:26-28, especially NIV and CJB, is that it has thegod mystery saying: let us make humankind in our image so they may rule on earth. Thus, thegod are humble enough to leave order on earth to humankind. Since thegod are doing the allowing, humankind can provide order on earth.
The question before history is: will humankind develop the humility to accept the power and authority to rule the earth?
The religion-free, 1787 United States Constitution proffers the intention to establish and maintain sufficient humility "to ourselves and our Posterity".
Thank you both for the motivation to write this. Phil

John, I think it is wonderful that you are the person who wrote, "Sometimes I had chosen to do right things but not to do things right." The authentic person controls the first part of your statement and needs civic collaboration for the second part.

The professional who has civic integrity makes the right choice even when civility demands the wrong choice.

Civic people replace unjust laws with statutory justice.

Comments on a blog post

https://www.thenewatlantis.com/text-patterns/can-anyone-help-me-understand-ephraim, Alan Jacobs, September 1, 2017 and on my facebook

Radner responded, “My job, one way or the other, is to try to be clearer for everyone. I wish there were a key to help people "understand what I write". That's not possible.”

I amplify Radner’s resolve. If a writer to humankind “writes to the audience”, he or she can pursue neither personal thoughts nor the ineluctable truth.

I think I understand Jacobs’ post and may resolve his angst; he may say. Radner described mimicable humility an ancient Semitic-speaking writer suggested in Genesis 1:26-28. I paraphrase, in the beginning, whatever-is-in-charge of what-is, granted humankind the opportunity to choose to constrain chaos on earth. In common terms, the God had the humility to trust humankind to discover they want to pursue the good and constrain the bad on earth. Each person may choose to mimic the God’s humility.

Radner kindly broke his words down, and I explain his phrases in my thoughts, as follows. Although evolution of humankind started perhaps 7 million years ago, DNA shows that everyone alive is a descendant of one homo sapiens woman who lived perhaps 150 thousand years ago:  Today, we are biologically connected, past, present, and future. So far, only homo sapiens left “memory” of this “biology of connection”, yet the primitive past is contained in DNA we may “hope” to discover and understand. Homo sapiens pursues whatever-is-in-charge of what-is as the "truth of God". We cannot relate to what our persons “really are” if we misinterpret these biological connections; connectedly, one person, one generation, one humankind, and one beginning that may end without constraint. Radner concludes that his book encourages “faith in accord with the basic convictions of the Christian Gospel as presented in the Scriptures”.

Radner left to the reader interpretation of “Christian Gospel”. That could be a hook to persuade the reader to buy the book; I don’t think so. To me, it’s an invitation to express Yeshua’s civic influence. “Civic” means reliably responsible to the good (constraining or eliminating the bad) in human connections and transactions.

I think the scripture is a collection of stories about the consequences when people do not discover personal humility and accept the power and authority to constrain chaos in their way of living. I am grateful for persistence and to my wife and our children and fellow civic citizens for persuading me that the good is my self-interest and to Yeshua, that precocious 12-year old who was left in the temple court conversing with the rabbis.

I like to honor the best idea of the name his family used, “Yeshua”, and am comfortable with “Jesus”. I work to persuade every person who pursues human being (verb) to practice Yeshua’s civic influence. Of representative commenters about Yeshua’s significance – James, Paul, and Emerson, I prefer Emerson’s thought that Jesus understood the power and authority of civic humankind who mirrors the humble God of Genesis 1:26-28.

The religion-free, 1787 United States Constitution seems to mirror Genesis 1:26-28 humility.

PRB comment

I overlooked Alan Jacobs's key concern:  Radner's phrase "God’s life as our creator". Jacobs stipulates "God is eternal in himself", I think traditionally overlooking the God and author of Genesis 1:26-28. If humankind fails to constrain chaos, the God's image on earth dies.

Neither before nor since Yeshua (some prefer "Jesus") has anyone informed us that because Genesis 1:26-28 says we may, in the God's image, pursue the good and constrain the bad to the earth, our individual performance can be perfect and aid humankind.

The precocious Yeshua was executed in his early 30s. In every generation some people discover Yeshua. Some intend to mimic Yeshua's civic integrity by improving applications with fellow human-beings. A faction approaches perfection before they die. So far, the creation is not dead. Eventually, the good may dominate if not annihilate the bad on earth.

Another PRB comment

In commenting to Jacobs, Radner wrote, "In the context of the book, a "biology of connection" is laid out as involving the fact that we are (biologically) born of a mother and a father, and thereby connected to a network of other persons, including those that support families; and we in turn give rise to such networks.

There's more to the God connection.

I don't know the mystery of Yeshua (Jesus to many). The Christian view is that he was born of Mary's ovum as God incarnate. Consequently, Yeshua was like everyone alive today -- a homo sapiens descended from one woman who lived perhaps 150 thousand years ago, as I wrote yesterday.

If this is the ineluctable truth, God's biological connection is a matter of physics. And Yeshua's affirmation of Genesis 1:26-28 comes full circle.

More yet; PRB comment

Radner’s phrase “the truth of God’s life as our creator” may be read as “the truth of duration”, where “duration” represents how long humankind survives, in order to remove the mysteries “God”, “life”, and “our creator”. I think duration accommodates both the doctrine of eternal God and the God’s humility in leaving humankind responsible to preserve life on earth (Genesis 1:26-28, NIV and CJB).

If we assume “our creation” when life began to evolve on earth, some 4.3 billion years ago, then humankind annihilates life, there’ll be the duration -- one measure “of God’s life as our creator”. There’ll remain humility to the God – whatever constrains human choice. Only then may the unavoidable and unchangeable and irresistible, the ineluctable, truth, be knowable.

Phil Beaver does not “know.” He trusts in and is committed to theineluctabletruth, which can only be discovered. Conventional wisdom has truth founded on reason, but it obviously does not work.
