I am a fiscal conservative and individual liberal. For that reason, many people oppose me. Trust and commitment to the-objective-truth of which most is undiscovered and some is understood does not position a person for easy acceptance by most groups, whether they be religious, areligious, secular, or AMO (supporting conflict for chaos).

However, I think you said you want education that coaches students through the two to three decades' transition from child to authentic young adult, regardless of community forces to limit the individual. Further, you think John White empowers teachers to so coach students.

Today’s thought (Joel 2:13). Verse 14 removes all doubt that “repents him of the evil,” refers to God: “ Who knoweth if he will return and repent . . . ?” In this passage, it is God who repents---on God’s terms, not Dean’s. That is, the answer to “Who knoweth” can be known by neither Dean nor Phil Beaver.

Dean quotes, I think misquotes, KJV. The reader may be helped by also considering NIV and CJB to resolve Dean’s representation of mystery.

It empowers users to direct messages to interested parties. I am inept so am not the best "FB friend." However, I have yet to experience anyone objecting when I express appreciation, late or infrequent as my expressions may be.

Also, I express many ideas I could have posted on FB, but don’t regret a single omission.

Overall, I think FB is great, except when a party of four at a resaurant are looking and tapping on four i-phones. It seems tragic to me, but it's what they prefer. On the other hand, the other day I saw a party of three in hearty dialogue using one i-phone. It was cool to see.

The struggle for dominant religious opinion has existed since humankind emerged, and it is likely persists into eternity, however long that lasts. So far, humankind has entailed some 7,000,000,000,000 man years. The consequence is dysfunction in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the USA, and the world. To get the most of some 90 years as a human, it seems personally prudent for an individual to collaborate for public morality as comprehensive safety and security keeping spiritual morality a private pursuit. “Private” includes association with like-minded believers who also maintain safety and security.

An authentic woman protects each one of her ova, confident that each one is unique. She seeks an authentic man: One who will protect not only her but her ova.

Not every fertilized ovum becomes a blastocyst that attaches to the uterus. Not all of those that attach embed and survive gestation and delivery. In fact, natural abortions far exceed live births, especially if unattached blastocysts are considered.

Doctors and mothers deal with these uncertainties in private and among their concerns is protecting a potential child from an unlivable existence.

There are people who want abortion for fun, but those may be under 10% of cases. Abortion for fun should be discouraged through education and assurance of preventive aids. Men may be encouraged to be authentic rather than willful appetite satisfiers.

Legislators and judges should stop harassing women and doctors over management of private affairs.

I would not venture a guess as to whether The Advocate writes in ignorance, obfuscation, business plan or what. However their obfuscation begs woe to the people. (If it seems I am disappointed in my hometown newspaper, it’s true.)

Their review of the past hides the past five decades influence of Saul Alinsky, the neo-Marxist radical organizer who taught Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton and influences leftist democrats in our city to deviate from comprehensive safety and security toward conflict for chaos. It’s a circular way of living. Because a person chooses comprehensive fidelity, he or she always chooses justice. Past articles on moving the zoo left me cold. I now support increased interest in keeping the zoo where it is. Perhaps the NBR taxing district will consider locating a hotel to support the zoo as a tourist destination. Milbank opines “Trump’s incitements to violence,” conveniently overlooking Hillary Clinton’s “basket of deplorables.” Twice a Trump voter, I am happily her deplorable in the worst way.

However, Gerson, well representing writers for the media, does not understand the American “freedom of religion.” It specifies theism, in particular Christianity, especially factional Protestantism, which encompasses Unitarianism. It opposes peace-appreciators like me.

In support of my claim, I cite James Madison’s “Memorial and Remonstrance,” June 20, 1785. “Before any man can be considered as a member of Civil Society, he must be considered as a subject of the Governour of the Universe.” I was born in Knoxville Tennessee, conceived by a couple who were than and always citizens of the USA, and am therefore a citizen.

I reject civilization in competition with justice: I will not submit to society’s opinion. Instead of “Civil Society” I belong to a civic people---those who collaborate for contemporaneous living more than cooperate for the municipality. We are well aware of the dissidents, intentional or not, to comprehensive safety and security, such as Bernie Sanders, Michael Gerson, and James Madison (deceased).

I work for comprehensive safety and security as the American dream. Thereby, religion is appreciated as a private matter rather than a legislative privilege or tradition. The US Supreme Court, in Greece vs Galloway (2014) is dissident to comprehensive safety and security.

Abraham Lincoln’s idea "A house divided against itself cannot stand," is delusional when the house has fallen. America can change to undivided if most citizens collaborate for comprehensive safety and security rather than dominant religious or political opinion.

What’s amazing is that the media presses their attack on the American people regardless of unbelievable tragedy. Something must be done to coerce the media to appreciate the people more than freedom of the press.

For example, heavily fine any media that now portrays James Comey as a man of integrity. Honesty, OK; integrity, No. That’s my opinion based on what I saw, but I do not know enough to levy a fine.

Today’s thought (Psalms 127:1). Trust and commitment to the-objective-truth of which most is undiscovered and some is understood seems more attractive to me in my eighth decade.

In my fifth decade, I had been certain of my birth-family’s traditional interpretation of the Bible and felt I knew God. However, I encountered Bible interpretation which my tradition opposed and had to choose. I chose to be myself: Someone who trusts and commits to the-objective-truth. I do not doubt the God’s of the people who helped me discover myself, and am comfortable not evaluating beliefs. I wait, without expectation, for revelation of the-objective-truth however it differs from my trust.

Without that experience, I might be a candidate to join Dean’s hopes but am not.

Courage to resolve (James). Trying to revise civil-service law to suit particular purpose indicates honest privation of integrity. I see no hope for courage.

The acquisition of education is enhanced by coaching which inspires each newborn to gradually take charge of his or her authenticity as a human being. Chronologically adult dissidents to safety and security are constrained by just statutory law rather than arbitrary opinion.

Individuals whose person has high hopes and dreams look for opportunities to improve comprehensive safety and security. With a promising innovation, they enter entrepreneurship, and with success are happily awarded part of the benefits the town received. With failure, they retain obligations and resume ordinary provision of needed goods and services.

People who have discovered inspiration and motivation through religion or none equally collaborate for comprehensive safety and security.

June 14, designated Flag Day in legislation signed by President Harry Truman in 1949, is not a federal holiday. The flag was authorized in 1777 by the thirteen colonies that in 1774 changed their style to “states,” then in confederation appealed to England for recognition, and when it was not forthcoming, declared war for independence.

The battle at Yorktown, VA in 1871 that decided the war for independence was also a battle in the Second Hundred Years War between France and England. Consequently, treaties were negotiated in France. The Treaty of Paris, 1783, is between England and thirteen independent states rather than the confederation. However, after four years as independent states under the United States Continental Congress, statesmen realized that there must be a nation. They drafted a constitution for the USA in 1787, with 2/3 of delegates signing for government of by and for the people rather than the states. Thus, the USA, governed by the people rather than the states, was set forth by the ratification on June 21, 1788.

Because of the preamble, June 21 is a day for celebration of each willing person’s responsible freedom-from political oppression and opportunity to acquire the liberty-to pursue the happiness he or she perceives rather than someone’s image. The preamble defines a voluntary civic contract to collaborate for freedom-from violence and liberty-to live, as described above, “civic” referring to citizens willing to use the agreement stated in the preamble. Past generations have left to us the opportunity to establish freedom-from and liberty-to at last.

School renaming (Felterman). Your letter motivated me to check how my representatives voted. Sen. Claitor gets my thumbs up. Rep. Foil gets my thumb down.

  

Columns.

Approving President Trump’s infrastructure plans (George Will). Will’s person seems to want to encourage the people to support President Trump’s push to deregulate and thereby cut the cost of infrastructure by half or more.

Will’s long standing desire to be a write might be getting in his way. I especially thought the focus on poor children was awful. A blunt statement, for example, the real victims of regulation are the nation’s children.

 

Low child well-being (Page 1B). With so many dissident adults and enterprises that thrive on them, we cannot expect Louisiana’s children to fare well.

However, I do not want to wait for adult reform. I want to inspire children immediately to take personal charge of their two to three decades transition from infant to civic, young adult, where “civic” refers to citizens who collaborate for freedom-from violence and acquisition of the liberty-to pursue for a full lifetime personal interests rather than someone’s image.

You have an interesting question, but I would not attempt to respond without understanding your meaning of human equality. For example, I do not think ova from the same woman are equal. I think each ovum is unique. Further, I doubt spermatozoa from the same man during the same moment are equal. If my thoughts are correct, the question seems out of place and time.

Perhaps I have answered that human equality seems a false idea.

To a dear friend on FB who took his American flag down on January, 20, 2017 after many years of care. His message taught me that burning your flag is not the only way to express dissidence to the USA:

Aw shucks. That means you were unhappy with my two votes; one in the GOP primary and the other in the election. At each step of the way, I wrote that I felt it would take three years for President Trump to become presidential, but that is what I expected and voted for.

  

I do not assume you hope I was correct, but now that my votes worked, I hope you will consider joining my belief that every human has the psychological power to perfect his or her unique person, including Donald Trump.

I don't claim Emerson was correct, only that the idea that I can perfect myself is wonderful; powerful; appreciated. I am grateful to Emerson for so much consideration of his resources. We have more.

To local politicians: Today may be one of the most challenging in your political life. You may be challenged to either satisfy the demands of people who gain authority by obstruction, protest, disruption, and the threat of violence that often erupts from emotion and passion versus the people who collaborate daily for the American dream: Freedom-from violence and liberty-to live.

There is hope that is emerging from meetings at EBRP libraries during the last three years. The hope is so new it is not well known. Its impetus is widespread use of the preamble to the constitution for the USA rather than mere claim to “we, the people.”

However I want to share an emerging idea: Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the USA is a place where citizens may celebrate each willing person’s responsible freedom-from political oppression and opportunity to acquire the liberty-to pursue the happiness he or she perceives rather than someone’s image. Dissidents may be inspired to collaborate.

I hope this thought will strengthen each of you and your committee of twelve today and in the future.

Know this from me. I am grateful to each of you who sacrifice in your own way to establish freedom-from violence and liberty-to live, as described herein.

Our Views (oil reserves). Some ideas are better left unpublished.

The Advocate is not responsible for managing the nation’s oil reserves and has no idea what the future holds. “Our views” tacitly states two assumptions. I dislike them so much I do not want to publish them.

That’s right: Commenting in this forum is publication.

 

Today’s thought (Hosea 10:12). We may interpret Hosea’s metaphors as: conform to the-objective-truth; be patient with other citizens; be productive; and maintain fidelity. We’ll have lived justly.

Dean suggests God handles all good practice for us. I doubt Dean.

Letters.

Tax reform (Olivier and Erwin). Lower rates at broader coverage seems like a viable solution, and enough work has been done to make it happen during this special session.

The problem is factions in the legislature conflicting for dominant opinion for their legislative-faction’s sake. I do not think their conflicts represent the people. I think the people want comprehensive safety and security.

But if I am correct, the people must say so: My voice is woefully inadequate. I’m working to persuade a super majority of people to demand voluntary public integrity, fully expecting minority dissent.

Sadow (Winham). Writers seek to convince readers that they are columnists and columnists that they are journalists. However, what I prefer is thinkers.

It seems to me Sadow is a thinker. Each time I read his thoughts I am enlightened a little and feel rewarded for the time I spent. Last week, I was disappointed that he did not present the idea that DOTD, with its $600 million budget only get $85 million in accomplishments. I wanted to understand better.

But I think the point he made is that DOTD does not provide the people of Louisiana better reporting. At least that is what I found when I tried to find the data.

I appreciate Sadow’s research and writing, even though I often have to read a paragraph twice. Thus, I appreciate substance more than presentation.

Speaking of substance, both George Will and Charles Krauthammer are favorite columnists, but it seems to me liberal democracy and Donald Trump, respectively, warped their inspirations.

  

Columns.

How our government is supposed to work (Rich Lowry). Our government is supposed to conform to the preamble to the constitution for the USA. I think Trump is reforming the USA in that direction, and Lowry is clueless. I challenge Lowry to explain “how our government is supposed to work.”

Comey’s failures and birthdate (1960) inspired me to think I was seeing on TV a demonstration of psychology born of the nanny-state: confused. That is, an FBI director who honestly feels someone else should be in charge of his integrity and does not mind witnessing to that sentiment before a live Congressional hearing.

Since then, when a writer seems confused, I look up his or her birth year, for whatever that is worth. Lowry’s is 1968. Mine is 1943: I know people regard me as an old white man. I have been told to take my meds, to drop dead and please do so within 30 minutes, and other such ideas. However, I appreciate fidelity and work hard to deliver.

The N-word (Clarence Page). It’s difficult for me to perceive an honest column on this issue, much less any semblance of integrity.

  

Global warming (Robert Samuelson). The only useful thing to do about global warming is worry about it.

Is it true that mankind’s contribution to it is like a mouse on an elephant’s back? Is it true that 50 million years of earth-temperature data shows 1) we are in a relative deep freeze and 2) the temperature has never stopped cycling? Or are the alarmists correct that this time it will keep going up?

We cannot possibly control the earth’s atmosphere. We could reduce population growth but won’t. Let’s keep worrying about global warming but in the meantime, move to higher ground if we sometimes flood and stop abusing children---a barbarity for which we are directly responsible.
