Phil Beaver works to establish opinion when
the-objective-truth has not been discovered. He seeks to refine his opinion by
listening to other people’s experiences and observations. The comment box below
invites readers to express facts, opinion, or concern, perhaps to share with
people who may follow the blog.
Note: I often connect
words in a phrase with dashes in order to represent an idea. For example, frank-objectivity
represents the idea of candidly expressing the-objective-truth despite possible
error. In other words, the writer expresses his “belief,” knowing he could be
in error. People may collaboratively approach the-objective-truth.

Our Views. I
agree with The Advocate.
It is difficult to understand this public disgrace. I
do not know which of Louisiana practices is more barbaric: abuse of children or
abuse of the aging.
Either way, I appreciate The Advocate’s
attention to the problem at this time.
Today’s
thought, Hebrews 12:29.
Perhaps Paul is plagiarizing Deuteronomy 4:24. Worse, perhaps he is challenging
the Jews: Our God will beat your God.
I
prefer to rebuke competitive thoughts and promote public-integrity, a
collaboration rather than cooperation. In public-integrity, every no-real-harm
God is entitled to the believers’ spiritual fidelity, just as the people are
entitled to fidelity to civic justice. My inspiration comes from
the-objective-truth, whatever is real regarding spirits.
Letters
Legislators
should not oppose the people’s first responders (Montgomery). To
Insurance
mandates (Harlan). To Tom
Robinson: Readers may understand that
Chief Justice Roberts legislated---that’s right, legislated---perhaps the worst
judicial sham in US history. He declared the mandate was a tax. He thus created
a tax on a non-purchase.
In civic connections, the people may provide justice rather than Christian reasoning. It’s true there is no justice in free health-care no matter how it’s provided.

Life does not “happen.” People have sex
and babies are conceived. The USA needs to stop the barbaric practice of conceiving
to abuse, educating for the ignorant workers we need, and encouraging theistic
superstitions.
Rather than continue the charade over
emergency-room abuses, the USA may provide catastrophic medical care for
everyone, require payment for routine medical services, and allow an insurance
market for customers who do not want the risks between routine medical services
and catastrophic care.
DA’s opinions were accepted in task
force meetings (Pettit & Schmidt). This reminds me of the dysfunction the people suffer in all
quarters.
The
DA’s expressed themselves repeatedly and the Criminal Justice Committee "knew better." Now the people who did not listen say
the DA’s did not speak.
Also,
public-safety is too important to disallow valid changes while the legislation
is debated. That’s true of all bills: They’re too important to exclude late,
valid input.
Rich
Lowry column, “Coulter speech”. Liberal democrats give progressivism a bad name.
Preventing people from speaking is a form of
lying on par with stonewalling. In public-integrity, citizens express a concern
and proposed remedy. Listeners clarify and then respond with either agreement
or a well-grounded alternate statement and remedy for the concern raised.
The process continues until both parties think
a path to a better future has been discovered. That opens the possibility for
progress or progressivism without bias.
Charles Krauthammer column (populism on
hold). I don’t think
populism in America equates to populism on other continents.
Populism
in America means an appreciation for the civic agreement stated in the preamble
to the constitution for the USA and a trust and commitment. The 1/3 who are ignorant
or pacifist to public-integrity will join the 1/3 who collaborate to constrain
the dissidents, whatever their motives.
When
that happens, the two-party system that John Adams feared will stop functioning
and the people will be divided on a common-sense basis: Those who want civic
safety & security vs the dissidents.
Robert Samuelson
column (adult statistics). You talk of national statistics, which
obviously regressed from 1975 to 2016.
I
prefer to persuade each newborn to take charge of his or her fantastic transformation
from feral infant to psychologically powerful young adult with the
understanding and intent to live a full life.
That’s at least a three-decade
transition, and the existing education system is nowhere near on par with human
psychological power. I work to change that.
COA policy changes. (Page 1B). That’s insufficient, and the ethics conclusion is a pass on
crime. I demand better.
DOTD poor performance (Page 1B). It should not have come to these disruptions that are causing
people a lot of misery and loss.
Child abuse (Page 1B).
There’s too much emphasis on satisfaction of chronological adults who abuse
children.
People who are not prepared to be parents may choose to not procreate
rather than abuse a child or children.
We promote a barbaric system that says, “Procreate
anyway, and we’ll take care of you.” It’s a lie. It’s a disgrace, and The
Advocate writes about it as though child abuse is a given.
I want customary
child abuse to be advertised as a national disgrace.
How long will a civic people put up with
it?
Old age patient abuse (Page 1A). It’s a Louisiana disgrace on par with the child abuse.
The three growth rates are CIP 2%, health
care 3.6% and nursing homes 5.2%.

GOP budget plan (Page 1A). A
2/3 supermajority of civic people could get rid of the two-party system and
elect people who will serve rather than exploit the people.
Flood victims fall prey to Gov. Edwards’ disdain for Congress
(Page 1A). I am so naïve I never
expected the two-party system to be this bad. I am convinced the people must
collaborate to get rid of the albatross that whip-saws the people out of livelihood.
Thousands rally (Page 2A).
After five decades of Alinsky-Marxist organized (AMO) disruptions and violence,
even illegal aliens think the USA is managed by the mob.
How long will a civic people put up with
it?
Trump invitations (Page 3A). This administrator really thinks every deal starts with a
discussion. Strange. Apolitical.
Trump does not fear his own ignorance (Page 7A). I don’t know Jackson’s history enough to speculate what he thought, but it seems errorneous to have him thinking in 1861.
But I’d like to know what Eric Foner speculates
about Abraham Lincoln’s motives for continuing to use the Declaration of
Independence to trump the US Constitution even after the Civil War was well
underway.
I hope Trump listens to Foner, one of
America’s great scholars.
DOTD spending (Page 8A). The
DOTD needs better supervision, and I hope this bill does it.
Fake news on media fake news (Page 10A). The conference could have asked a reader to attend.
Mass Comm schools, like LSU, teach that
public opinion determines public policy and mass media determines public
opinion, so the media are in control of politics rather than a powerful influence.
However, about 1/3 of American readers
perceive fierce independent-liberty and eventually use their canoes to steer
the air-craft carrier back to civic morality. It happens when the passive 1/3
become so incensed that they want to get back to the preamble to the
constitution for the USA.
The media never bought into the preamble,
so they neglect its effect on the motives of the people. The people recognize
that the preamble is not a secular agreement: It’s neutral to religion. So far,
the Supreme Court and perhaps none of the branches have not caught up on that
fact. But the people know.
Beware Hamas (Page 11A). The Arab
was is to get agreement then change the mind.
AP (Page 11A). Readers can’t
trust the Associated Press.
Bill Barrow fakes news of Nancy Pelosi
who has been vilified practically forever. I guess he’s trying to make other news, too,
but I am not going there.
Other forums.
The human being is so
psychologically powerful that common forms of education are inadequate. One
idea is to find a life coach to help with major decisions such as spousal
discovery. However, I do not know of the adequate profession. In my eighth
decade, I use a social worker to help and am pleased, but did not imagine the
need for coaching until late in life. My physician listened to my problem area
and suggested the social worker.
However, my theory is that each so powerful human has an
internal drive toward fidelity. So far, education has not figured out the
priorities, but I think the path to human success is, both respectively and
collectively, fidelity to the-objective-truth, to self, to immediate family, to
extended family, to friends, to the people, to the nation, to the world, and to
the universe. This set of fidelities I dub public-integrity. The adolescent who
perceives public-integrity is authentic and can rely on self, experience, and
observations to guide decisions. Mistakes happen but he or she does not repeat
them so as to avoid woe. Along the way, he or she may identify some coaches to
be trusted, but self-reliance helps establish authenticity.
In choosing a mate, the opportunity is psychological
bonding. The potential mate is in the fidelity-priority “the people,” and
begins secondary to the set the-objective-truth, self, immediate family,
extended family, and friends.
Psychological bonding is a two-person activity. The phrase
“I’m in love with Nancy,” is false if Nancy does not agree. Bonding begins with
attraction, and the physics of human biology involves chemistry that normally
causes heterosexual attraction. Biology is not perfect. Psychological skill
develops, hopefully in time for self-discovery. Regardless of reactions to the
chemistry of attraction, the physical should be set aside for the more important
psychological attraction.
Fidelity comes without lies, so psychological attraction is
quickly established when to parties are compatible and reliable. The mutual
combination psychological satisfaction, compatibility, and reliability is the
object of courting.
If a relationship is psychologically satisfying, the next
consideration is compatibility. For example, if both parties want to procreate,
fidelity to immediate family precludes same-sex monogamy. In fidelity to
family, a child, to perceive dignity and equality, should enjoy the heritage
represented by his or her genes. Also, children need heterosexual role models
in the practice of monogamy. Thus, same sex partners in psychological
satisfaction would either honor friendship for life or enter into monogamous
bonding with or without sexual intimacy.
Humans, being so psychologically powerful, may have
fidelity-priorities different from mine, and therefore, all imaginable
variations exist. However, deviation from public-integrity may invite problems
if not woe. I can’t imagine promiscuity turning out well, but the practice is
popular. Also, two men may contract to form a family and provide gender role
models for children. However, there is nothing biologically wrong with a child
falling in love with one of the men and causing separation.
Reliability is critical, and resolution of early
disagreements is necessary. Without making it too analytical, partners must
recognize disagreement and either discover reliable resolution or agree to
friendship or termination of the relationship. Terminations may be gentle yet
definitive. With reliable resolutions, the couple may agree to commitment. In
commitment, communications needs increase and with confirmation of reliability,
intimacy may begin to dominate.
Intimacy involves a transition from personal autonomy to
associative collaboration. In other words, each person must relinquish part of
their freedom—-in other words, voluntarily accept some constraints according to
the bond. As confidence in the intimacy grows, sexual intimacy may be
appropriate. (Here again, many people had sex long before this point. I just so
happens that the encounter with the prospect of monogamy—-fidelity for
life—-scared me so much I was slow.) One opinion about sexual intimacy: I think
an authentic man views a woman as a crowd—-a person with the potential to
originate perhaps ten human beings upon bonding with her choice of men she met.
Therefore, in sexual intimacy he takes full charge of preventing risks to both
her and her viable ova. Once a woman finds an authentic man, she tends to want
to give her viable ova life. When an authentic man and authentic woman have
reached this point, they are ready to share their bond with children,
grandchildren, and beyond.
More than ever before, I appreciate people. I think people
who want a spouse should be open to inviting people to date and while on the
date, talk. When compatibility seems possible, date again until there’s a brick
wall; then gently move on. Keep the ideas above, adjusted to your preferences,
and help the others enjoy the search.
