Phil Beaver works to establish opinion when
the-objective-truth has not been discovered. He seeks to refine his opinion by
listening when people share experiences and observations. The comment box below
invites readers to write.
Note 1: I often dash
words in phrases in order to express and preserve an idea. For example, frank-objectivity
represents the idea of candidly expressing the-objective-truth despite possible
error. In other words, a person expresses his “belief,” knowing he or she could
be in error. People may collaboratively approach the-objective-truth. Note 2: It is important to note "civic" refers to citizens who collaborate for the people more than for the city.
A personal paraphrase
of the preamble by & for Phil Beaver: We the willing people of nine of
the thirteen United States commit to and trust in the purpose and goals
stated herein --- integrity, justice, collaboration, defense, prosperity,
liberty, and perpetuity --- and to cultivate limited services by the USA,
beginning on June 21, 1788.
Composing their own paraphrase, citizens may consider the actual preamble
and perceive whether they are willing or dissident toward its agreement.
What if first responders mimicked the dissident NFL players, coaches, and owners and took a knee until all vigilantism stops?
It is time for the NFL to own up to its evil.
Our Views, 10/3 (theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/opinion/our_views/article_229dac4e-a791-11e7-986f-934700887a51.html)
GM
King You may know I advocate the
establishment of civic morality by willing citizens adopting the public goals
stated in the preamble to the constitution for the USA, ratified on June 21,
1788. The agreement involves 7 to 9 goals, and I think 2/3 of citizens now
tacitly follow much of the agreement.
Perhaps a more expedient approach for your Excellency
would be to step back to George Washington's four pillars he thought may
provide for a nation to survive. He stated the pillars in the three paragraphs
starting at "With this conviction of the importance of the present
Crisis," online at
loc.gov/teachers/classroommaterials/presentationsandactivities/presentations/timeline/amrev/peace/circular.html.
I advocate sincere liberty, described by George
Washington.
Today’s thought,
G.E. Dean (Matthew 7:4-6, CJB)
“How
can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the splinter out of your eye,’ when
you have the log in your own eye? You hypocrite! First, take the log out of your own eye;
then you will see clearly, so that you can remove the splinter from your
brother’s eye!”
Dean says “We can’t be of much help to others if we will not
let the Lord set our lives right.”
Matthew coaches a person to take responsibility for personal
error. But Dean arbitrarily promotes assigning the responsibility to a mystery
Dean labels “the Lord.” I don’t understand why The Advocate publishes what
seems blasphemy and fraud. Is it merely habitual freedom of the irresponsible
press?
The first of the eight deadly errors is gullibility. It is a close cousin of pride, No 7 on the list online at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_deadly_sins. One personal defense against gullibility and pride is humility. Humility also empowers comprehension and understanding.
Letters
Bad Rule (Lebleu) (“Apply Golden Rule to NFL controversy)
This short
letter was filled with false principles, like the Golden Rule, an egocentric
thought.
More egregious
is “unless we are all free, no one is free.” It demands the companion thought
unless we are all responsible, we cannot survive without constraining the irresponsible
and confining the criminals.
The preamble to the constitution for the USA divides inhabitants: the people who are willing to behave according to the agreement versus the dissidents. Lebleu seems to be a dissident.

Corporations serve real people (Rhorer) (theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/opinion/letters/article_b8e44ca6-a49b-11e7-b0b3-b3e529eb0c00.html)
I agree
with Dan Fagan’s views: trial lawyers cost way beyond their benefits to the
people.
Shooting

"We like wild horses and
it's wrong to be shooting them," says Hay. "But if these horses
aren't kept in low enough numbers, soon there won't be anything left but wild
horses on this land." See http://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=94255&page=1

If your Excellency does not exercise
sovereignty through responsible voting, there is no option but to be ruled by
other citizens --- as Mr. K points out, the few.
Overcome fear? (Dan Fagan)
(theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/opinion/article_f8f797a0-a854-11e7-b2cd-f7cecc50a61c.html)
I had a paranoia brought on by a
happenstance. I defeated it by facing it. Maybe Fagan should find a Howard
Johnson’s and stay there until the fear is gone.
I discovered distaste for a famous song when I contemplated
for the first time the second stanza’s first thought, “Twas grace that taught
my heart to fear.”
How to pray (Michael Gerson)

I nominate this column as the all-time most unwanted
writing.
Perhaps the most disturbing egregious thought is “death
. . . unearned.” Did my sister earn death?

I think any writer who condescends to advise
President Trump has failed to observe less is more.
Phil Beaver does not “know”
the-indisputable-facts. He trusts and is committed to the-objective-truth of which
most is undiscovered and some is understood. He is agent for A Civic People of
the United States, a Louisiana, education non-profit corporation. See online at
