Phil Beaver works to establish opinion when
the-objective-truth has not been discovered. He seeks to refine his opinion by
listening when people share experiences and observations. The comment box below
invites readers to write.
Note 1: I often dash
words in phrases in order to express and preserve an idea. For example, frank-objectivity
represents the idea of candidly expressing the-objective-truth despite possible
error. In other words, a person expresses his “belief,” knowing he or she could
be in error. People may collaboratively approach the-objective-truth. Note 2: It is important to note "civic" refers to citizens who collaborate for the people more than for the city.
A personal paraphrase
of the preamble by & for Phil Beaver: We the willing people of nine of
the thirteen United States commit to and trust in the purpose and goals
stated herein --- integrity, justice, collaboration, defense, prosperity,
liberty, and perpetuity --- and to cultivate limited services by the USA, beginning
on June 21, 1788.
Composing their own paraphrase, citizens may consider the actual preamble
and perceive whether they are willing or dissident toward its agreement.
Am I going too far to suspect The

The Times-Picayune
did endorse Cantrell:

Today’s thought,
G.E. Dean (Matthew 518:11-13 CJB)
“For the son of man came to save the lost. What’s
your opinion? What will somebody do who has a hundred sheep, and one of them
wanders away? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine on the hillsides and go off to
find the stray? 13 And if he happens to find it? Yes! I tell you he
is happier over it than over the ninety-nine that never strayed!”
Dean says “We are lost without the Lord. He came to bring us
back to Himself. He loves you.”
Perhaps Matthew did not collaborate with John. See John
38-39: “For I have come down from heaven to do not my own will but the will of
the One who sent me. And this is the will of the One who sent me: that I
should not lose any of all those he has given me but should raise them up on
the Last Day.”
Since Jesus does not lose one, anyone who God gave to Jesus
cannot need salvation.
However, we mutually need civic justice for living, and that
is our duty to each other. Civic justice is a duty it seems God did not assign
to Jesus.

I often write that I do not know the-objective-truth, which can only be discovered; it does not respond to opinion.

Another Bible mystery (Picard)
(theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/opinion/letters/article_1c3848e8-c599-11e7-82e8-0b59295629c7.html)
Many ideas in
the Bible are too mysterious for civic morality. Matthew 7:4 suggests
self-judgement to admit your personal errors before discussing with another
person a possible error they made. Maybe that idea works in another world, but
in this world, it is often difficult if not impossible to be perfect enough to
consider personal error, correct it, and qualify to judge other people.
Consider, for
example, Frederick Douglass’s 1852 claim, “There is not a man
beneath the canopy of heaven that does not know that slavery is wrong for
him.” Someone who accepted Aristotle’s view---that slavery was
atonement for sin, perhaps of omission---might oppose his own emancipation. See
bbc.co.uk/ethics/slavery/ethics/philosophers_1.shtml. In other words, abolition
would interfere with God’s plan for the redemption, long term as it may be: socialtextjournal.org/original-sin-slavery-and-american-innocence/.
A civic people recognize that they are personally
responsible for justice. The physics and psychology of slavery are sufficient for
them to support Frederick Douglass’s claim. Civic citizens refuse to tolerate
guns, whips, brutality, and rape to enforce slavery in the nation; they leave
God’s justice to God.
White Americans fought the Civil War to establish justice. America rejected Bible mystery about slavery but did not usurp God’s judgement.
In general, Bible interpretation has
no place in the discovery of civic justice. I think President Trump knows this
as certainly as General George Washington did on June 8, 1783.
Free and responsible expression (Black)
(theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/opinion/letters/article_1081f7ea-c596-11e7-97f7-17b77f310ac5.html)
Black asserts “should not [protest] during their work environment.”
I doubt Black takes any chance in that making that statement.
However, the players take great risk in their protest.
I find the NFL’s toleration of the protest so objectionable I will not watch
NFL football.
There’s a more important issue, too,
and that is the head injuries that occur. Continuation of the sport seems
barbaric---a cancer in civic morality.
2/3 of gun deaths are suicides (Barrow)
(theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/opinion/letters/article_1e7eccc2-c598-11e7-9d33-83ecbebb5ca9.html)
I
wondered about numbers and found this: “In 1999, there were 16,599
suicides committed with a firearm. In 2014, gun suicides totaled 21,334.” thetrace.org/2016/04/cdc-study-gun-suicides-getting-worse/
and cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/suicide.htm.
Using Barrow’s percentages, I get 6400 young men 15-34 in homicides in 2014. It is important to note that male bodies do not complete constructing the wisdom-developing parts of the brain before age 25.
Guns are around for hunting and self-defense. The better approach for reducing all suicides, not just suicides by gun, might be, during the couple education decades, civic coaching. Influence the young towards personal autonomy (authentic humanity), collaborative association (other people appreciated as authentic, too), understanding the basic knowledge, and intending to live a full life. “Full” means both complete and rewarding. “Civic” means collaborating for mutual personal justice more than to socialize, civilize, or otherwise conform to some standard.

The best
coaching is by example, and civic citizens could establish the agreement
offered in the preamble to the constitution for the USA as a method by which to
create an achievable, better future.

Draining the swamp (Michael Barone)
washingtonexaminer.com/2016-is-looking-like-the-new-normal/article/2640015
Whoever thought draining the swamp
would benefit the GOP just did not understand why Congress’s rating is so low.
Read President Trump’s first inaugural address.
The purpose for electing Donald
Trump was to make America great---not great again: Great! President Trump is on
the road to discovery of what must be done. The press has not caught on.
Draining the swamp (Kenneth Keulman)
washingtonexaminer.com/2016-is-looking-like-the-new-normal/article/2640015
I voted
for Trump-Pence twice because that was the best option. Today, I’m hoping
against Keulman’s dreams.
It took Abraham Lincoln, politically astute and morally
questionable, three years to understand that war is hell and civic war worse.
The one who invited it invited woe. “Civic” refers to citizens collaborating
for mutual peace rather than conflicting for dominant opinion.
It'll be
interesting to see if Keulman will be as gullible to his personal wisdom in a
year and in two years or if he will reform and collaborate for civic justice. Perhaps then the resistance
will have begun to realize they have not seen the worst and the ascent seems
far off yet attainable.
