Phil Beaver works to establish opinion when the-objective-truth has not been discovered. He seeks to refine his opinion by listening when people share experiences and observations. The comment box below invites readers to write.
Note 1:  I often dash words in phrases in order to express and preserve an idea. For example, frank-objectivity represents the idea of candidly expressing the-objective-truth despite possible error. In other words, a person expresses his “belief,” knowing he or she could be in error. People may collaboratively approach the-objective-truth.
Note 2: It is important to note "civic" refers to citizens who collaborate for the people more than for the city.
A personal paraphrase of the preamble by & for Phil Beaver:  We the willing people of nine of the thirteen United States commit to and trust in the purpose and goals stated herein --- integrity, justice, collaboration, defense, prosperity, liberty, and perpetuity --- and to cultivate limited services by the USA, beginning on June 21, 1788.
Composing their own paraphrase, citizens may consider the actual preamble and perceive whether they are willing or dissident toward its agreement.

Our Views (theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/opinion/our_views/article_8a5de9a8-be79-11e7-8a86-e3660436a5db.html)

Crucially . . . John Bel Edwards [is] an attorney . . . the dismissal of "frivolous" lawsuits may be a bit premature.

Has The Advocate expressed “a conclusion or statement that does not logically follow from the previous argument or statement?” If so, is that a fallacy? If so, what is it called?

Why would The Advocate publish their fallacy?

The complexity The Advocate claims makes no sense:actions of particular companies but climate change, soil subsidence, the reduction of sedimentation in the channelized Mississippi River.” I guess the latter point erroneously refers to the levy system and its unintended consequences---100 years’ termination of 7,000 years’ alluvial depositing. Ahh, the expense of responsible journalism!

This “Our Views” purports to be about administrators, lawyers, legislators, and courts. I don’t think they can be trusted for civic justice. Justice can come from civic citizens, and the sooner a supermajority of the people establish iterative collaboration for civic justice the better. So far, Louisiana has suffered 229 years of neglect of the preamble to the constitution for the USA.

I hope the Louisiana congressional delegation, at least 2/3 of the eight, will take action for the people.

Today’s thought, G.E. Dean (Psalms 19:7-8 CJB)
The Torah of Adonai is perfect, restoring the inner person. The instruction of Adonai is sure,
making wise the thoughtless. The precepts of Adonai are right, rejoicing the heart. The mitzvah of Adonai is pure, enlightening the eyes.

Dean says “Read your Bible. It pays great dividends.”

David, in his 3000 year-old way, asserts that body and mind (inner person) constitute wisdom by which to appreciate enlightenment. Dean tries, in 2017, to regress the good in David’s ideas.

Letters

Congress misguided (Bo Bienvenu) (theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/opinion/letters/article_90fe14f2-be8a-11e7-aa5c-87c46d439a2a.html)

Bo, I agree and think you may be a political activist.

Pew calls your possible status “politically engaged.” See people-press.org/interactives/political-polarization-1994-2017/. Use the animation and click on each: general public, publically engaged, overall, and by party, respectively. Notice that in 1994, especially the “overall” poll indicated a bell-curve, with more rightists than leftists. The 2017 results indicate a multimodal poll with more leftist answers.

As we know, pollsters erroneously have it that Hillary Clinton is popular-president. There are many movements to affirm that phantasmagorica in the American republic. There’s a “resistance movement against trump.” The faith-based sanctuary movement is being revived: sanctuarynotdeportation.org/.

It is difficult for leftists to accept that the majority in 84% of US counties preferred Trump rather than Clinton.

One is constrained to ask, if polls are so far from reality, what influences people to ponder those phantasms? I posit the evil in the polls (much like the elephant in the room) is the age-old instruction, “Write for the audience.”

Here’s how its working: Agents for political parties know the audience. They target the audience: loyalists, moderates who might be converted, and confirmed opponents. They design their presentation to appeal to the first two factions of the audience, ignoring the opposition’s views and reactions to the presentation.

Thereby, agents present a message that is determined by the audience. Their message is confusing across collective audiences with differing compositions of the three factions. That is, the reactions to their presentations vary. The people remain divided but more confused.

By strategically writing for the audience, the parties are picking their own pockets and driving the nation deeper into the abyss. Pew calls it political polarization.

I urge a civic people to ignore polls and focus on responsible, personal preferences.

Free speech (Bayer) (theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/opinion/letters/article_973e92aa-be8b-11e7-9331-5b942b263395.html)

Bayer illustrates that freedom of expression implies freedom of listening.

The person who claims to be Nazi but does no violence may be heard without listening. That is, the person who hears the Nazi claim is free to ignore the message. However, if he listens and does violence, he risks liability. In other words, if he chooses to listen and respond, he invites his own woe.

Insurance (Bogdan) (theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/opinion/letters/article_3ebc86b8-be8c-11e7-9bca-b71910427fe9.html)

Insurance is not the answer.

Personal responsibility for health well-being is at least four times more effective than medical care. England is negotiating to put smokers and obese people at the end of the wait list for surgery. See independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/health-news/obese-people-and-smokers-banned-from-routine-surgery-as-nhs-attempts-to-cut-spending-costs-a7223731.html.

New Orleans education incentives need revitilization (Scott Cowen) (theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/opinion/article_67ae29f0-be82-11e7-ba9e-efcb047ebca5.html)

I’m trying to contact Cowen, 504-862-3690, to make a suggestion. Here are some key points from his opinion piece:

“. . . we were energized by . . . unrelenting commitment to positive change.“
“. . . our public school district is still below average in a state . . . near the bottom in national . . .  rankings” and maybe 25th in the world. Thus, the state is maybe 1100th in the world.
Efforts “appear to lack the dynamic determination . . . characteristic . . .  after Hurricane Katrina, when we should be doubling down on our investment in the city’s youth.
“Poverty, crime and poor health . . . crippling . . . lives; public education [seems] one of ‘America’s leading public health crises.’”
“. . . 14.5 percent of all 16-to-24-year-olds in New Orleans are disconnected from both school and work . . . the city with the third-highest population of such youths in the nation. If we can’t figure out how to empower these members of our community to live [wanted] lives all of us will be worse off.”
“. . . the work . . . is about improving . . . life outcomes for the youth . . . connect . . . to the real world so students can do well in their . . . personal lives.”

Of course, a glimpse of my suggestion may be found by googling "child incentives brief" and choosing the URL that begins cipbr.

Phil Beaver does not “know” the-indisputable-facts. He trusts and is committed to the-objective-truth of which most is undiscovered and some is understood. He is agent for A Civic People of the United States, a Louisiana, education non-profit corporation. See online at promotethepreamble.blogspot.com.
