April 24, 2017

Phil Beaver works to establish opinion when the-objective-truth has not been discovered. He seeks to refine his opinion by listening to other people’s experiences and observations. The comment box below invites readers to express facts, opinion, or concern, perhaps to share with people who may follow the blog.
Note:  I often connect words in a phrase with dashes in order to represent an idea. For example, frank-objectivity represents the idea of candidly expressing the-objective-truth despite possible error. In other words, the writer expresses his “belief,” knowing he could be in error. People may collaboratively approach the-objective-truth.

The Advocate:  See online at theadvocate.com/baton_rouge

Our Views. The Advocate, I do not understand "tall order" in "Robert Scott of the Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana, a state watchdog group, acknowledged that this is a tall order, since texts often reside in “the cloud,” a network of servers beyond a single institution."

Does that translate into: beyond The Advocate's ability to request the information? Is "the cloud" the God of speech privacy? If the people have the right to know does "the cloud" overturn statutory law?

Today’s thought, 2 Timmothy 4:3-4. Truth, lust and mystery. That’s Paul’s bold imagination that empowers ministers to obfuscate Jesus’s message: Be perfect.

The-objective-truth informs us that fidelity is the way to a full life. Slowly, inevitably humankind discovers the-indisputable-facts-of-reality, and as soon as they are understood, they are put to best use, whether it be inventions that improve living or risks to be avoided. We find that discovery really helps us rather than mystery keeping us enslaved dominant opinion.

Letters

La. Salary Revolt (Wells). To Doug Johnson: I agree with the ideas without the hyperbole.

There’s no excuse for elected officials ratcheting up each other’s salaries. Why should people in Gov. Edwards’ administration make 6.5 times the average resident and have great benefits---health insurance and retirement? Sustainable ratios should be considered.

And Alexander being paid 16 times the citizen’s earnings is tyranny, competitive tyranny or not. Higher education administrators and faculty owe it to themselves to adapt to the now of online instruction and information sourcing. No longer do administrators and faculty have a lock on information and learning. Students are no longer oppressed by a professor’s imposition of opinion with no recourse: The student may check the professor’s pretense and thereby earn the liberty to actually learn rather than submit to indoctrination. Liberal democracy? What alien influenced your white tower?

For example, the USA is a republic rather than a democracy. The reason the USA is a republic is to protect the majority from the tyranny of a collection of minorities.

Congressional Black Caucus? Opposition to whites, yellows, reds and others seems unconstitutional, based on the civil rights acts of 1964 and 1965. If the USA fosters unconstitutional acts, the Great State of Louisiana may reject them.

To RJ Jackson: Reminds me of people speaking for God. It's in the speaker's mind and God is not impressed.

Airline passenger (Bonnet).
I don't follow this kind of news but pick it up as the public reacts, so I appreciate the views yet am not motivated to view the video again.

Bonnet's eyewitness account further informs us that video cameras may give imbalanced assessment of a situation.

Edwards on monuments (Westmoreland). Silence carries a message. I appreciate your claim to have voted for Edwards. It’s one of my most regretted votes, and it taught me that nor voting is a future option I may like.

I especially regret the awful harm Edwards has delivered to flood victims and his public suggestion that there is an Edwards-Vatican-partnership that may have added to the pain.

Cal Thomas column. I hope tax reform happens at last.

Melinda Deslatte column. Just as I thought. Nothing really happening at the state capitol.

George Will column. Child sex trafficking is a known problem we read about in the daily news.

Why write about it without suggesting a solution? I think human sexuality and forming beneficial bonds should be taught in K-6 and beyond.

Eugene Robinson column. If your implications play out, I will be sorry for my vote for Trump. I thought he would be an administrator and we’d often read about “Ya fiad.”

However, your silly comments in the last two paragraphs do not strengthen your view.

Guest column on “science” (April 21). To GM King: I accept your criticism on the EPA point and admit I do not know all the complications of coastal studies and their funding. [I'm editing this to say I checked, and it's Trump's Department of Commerce that is cutting Sea Grant . . . I was correct to accept your word on EPA. See://usatoday.com/.../trump-budget-sea-grant.../98920576/ .]

I cannot be grateful for your abuse of voluntary civic-integrity.

However, I could not care less about your writing to attack me.

Additional response to King: "Civic" refers to public connections and transactions wherein each party experiences justice in accordance with the-objective-truth rather than in conformance with an ideology, government, or civilization.

Extraneous response, to Charles Foster Kane: To learn about voluntary public-integrity, go to promotethepreamble.blogspot.com .
Additional response to King: Yes. First, you are missing that the world's best hope for civic justice (wherein "civic" refers to connections between two living people where they are)---civic justice in the USA, is dysfunctional, after 228 years operation. Civic as I use it is necessary to distinguish from connections beyond civic justice, such as religious justice, civil justice, social justice, group justice, legal justice, etc.

Second, you are denying my refrain: I do not know what I do not know. For example, on LGBT and other issues, I know what it takes to satisfy my view of fidelity, and wish to collaborate with the people who have differing views, with the agreement that we intend to conform to the-objective-truth rather than dominant-social-or-civil-opinion. I am not able to collaborate for a lifestyle I do not live, yet I want civic justice for all.

Liberty monument gone (online). Interesting comment and employment, Ms. Eyer.

I looked at https://www.facebook.com/KingdomOfGleannAbhann/ . Like so many associations, this one founded in 2005, I know nothing. Is your association as an employee rather than member?

Would KGA have any thoughts about Europe's responsibility for the doctrine of discovery and African slave trade? What possibility for the betterment of humankind do you see as a consequence of Europe's doctrine of discovery respecting the USA? Who is responsible for making that possible better future happen?

What is your opinion about the possibility of removing Lee's monument in particular?

More Edwards problems for children (Page 1A). I am reminded why I support John White. He stayed strong on teacher evaluations based on value added to children’s understanding and intent.

Muslim mutilations in Detroit (Page 2A). Is female mutilation psychological civic-terrorism?

Religious morality has no place in public-integrity. Religious believers may admit that civic-living does not yield to religious doctrine and therefore help establish voluntary public-integrity. Herein, “civic” refers to mutual public-justice in human connections rather than conformity to religion, society, arbitrary-law, dominant-opinion, force, coercion, and other forms of tyranny.

Pope not an appreciative person (Page 4A). The Catholic Church has never respected the Jews as they should. There is no excuse for belittling the Nazi atrocity against the Jews.

Trump’s approval low (Page 10A). Only 84% of US counties voted for President Trump.

The polls had said his opponent did not need to campaign. Using Twitter, Trump has fired the media, most of whom cried over the distance between predictions and an 84% defeat. Many of the people in federal jobs are liberal democrats. Trump defeated the institutional republicans.

What happens to “together” when the polls fail?

Phil Beaver does not “know” the-indisputable-facts. Phil trusts and is committed to the-objective-truth of which most is undiscovered and some is understood.
