Phil Beaver works to establish opinion when the-objective-truth has not been discovered. He seeks to refine his opinion by listening when people share experiences and observations. The comment box below invites readers to express facts, opinion, or concern, perhaps to share with people who may follow the blog.

Note 1:  I often dash words in phrases in order to express and preserve an idea. For example, frank-objectivity represents the idea of candidly expressing the-objective-truth despite possible error. In other words, a person expresses his “belief,” knowing he or she could be in error. People may collaboratively approach the-objective-truth.
Note 2: It is important to note "civic" refers to citizens who collaborate for the people more than for the city.

Our Views (http://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/opinion/our_views/article_31ad9b94-5071-11e7-96fb-7357659f6222.html)

To Charles Mayeaux: “. . . togetherness is less of a problem than changing an internal culture of rewards.”

I think togetherness is more of a problem. Together often seems bad. Together against the agreement stated in the preamble to the constitution for the USA seems bad. Together against civic people who don’t use God in civic competition seems bad; Together Baton Rouge seems bad. Together against people whose skin color differs seems bad. Together against people who oppose our vigilantism seems bad. Together against police officers who defend the public against criminals seems bad.

Dissidence to comprehensive safety and security seems bad. Civic injustice seems bad.

Personal fidelity to the-objective-truth, to self, to immediate family, to extended family, to friends, to neighbors, to the people, to municipalities, to the world, and to the universe, both respectively and collectively, seems good. Choices that conform to comprehensive fidelity seem good.

Today’s thought (Joel 2:25). Dean’s interpretation reminds me of John Newton’s lyric: “’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear.”

No matter what Dean says, disasters still come, and they impact everyone present. I think our ability to protect ourselves increases with discovery, understanding, and fidelity to the-objective-truth. For example, we don’t lie to each other so that we can talk.

Letters.

Losing Obamacare would hurt  (Hahn). (theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/opinion/letters/article_34c97a2c-5130-11e7-aa9d-e76b9a803daf.html)

Hahn mixes his statements and evidence making the letter unreliable. Nevertheless, he is making the nation’s 20 trillion dollars debt a personal issue. The nation is going to push it onto the states and thus the people, so that people will care more about the debt being imposed on children.

Statistics show that personal care is at least four times more effective than medical care in maintaining personal wellbeing.

Obamacare is a disaster, and the federal government must change it. Louisianans who may be affected, and I think that is all of us, may prepare for the coming disaster by taking charge of personal well-being.  (For many people, I am preaching to the choir.)

In my eighth decade, I spend 90 minutes most days stretching, strengthening, walking, and observing nature. Also, I shower daily or more, shave, floss and brush---simple hygiene. Contrary to my thesis, I am not doing this for children. I am trying to avoid medical care by taking personal care.

To Greg Thibodeaux: Like so many liberal-democrats, if you are one, you think you know and feel privileged to express abject ignorance as the truth. You remind me of James Comey, the apparent nanny-state FBI director who perhaps never considered integrity: honesty seems sufficient.

In my eighties is so because I approach 74 years old. I work hard to avoid medical care because I have had three heart procedures including triple by-pass, one lung procedure, and one arthritis remedy. I did not mention that I take my meds regularly, because I hear that slogan from people like you all the time.

I am glad you rebuked me, because responding reminded me of my arthritis routines. When I get trigger-finger, knee pain, and other such arthritis problems, I massage the point of problem clockwise with just enough pain to know I am working the poisons. Also, when edema comes, as it does, I prop the problem leg or foot or ankle on two pillows, and in just a couple days I walk erect again.

From my view, your apologies would be more effective if directed to your mirror. For example, look in the mirror and say, “I will stop being gullible to my prejudices. I will learn humility. I will learn humility. I will never again turn my back on humility.” (I’m not preaching; I’ve done that.)

Against the people (Dunbar). (theadvocate.com/new_orleans/opinion/letters/article_55fead76-5125-11e7-b5f0-2741b97f85e0.html)

It’s difficult to appreciate Dunbar beyond “propagandist” when he omits pertinent issues from his letter. For example, now that a hundred years of levy protection has stopped 7,000 years of soil-replacement that balanced subsidence, what can be done other than to move to higher ground?

Dunbar omits the facts: : “. . . on January 21, 2016, the Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded the tribe $48 million to relocate.” See news.nationalgeographic.com/2016/05/160525-isle-de-jean-charles-louisiana-sinking-climate-change-refugees/ .

Based on visual images, subsidence is much a more serious phenomenon at the gulf coast than global atmospheric effects.

Columns.

Illicit trade (Robert Samuelson). (washingtonpost.com/opinions/trump-is-deluded-about-nafta/2017/06/14/909c25dc-510f-11e7-be25-3a519335381c_story.html?utm_term=.a9f83cb5a32d)

It seems to me Samuelson expresses leftist propaganda. Compare for example “NAFTA’s Broken Promises 1994-2013,” online at citizen.org/sites/default/files/naftas-broken-promises.pdf .

Smuggling drugs and illegal aliens entering Mexico’s southern borders, aided and abetted by the “Sanctuary Movement,” has increased during the NAFTA years. See 1993 arguments at heritage.org/trade/report/setting-the-record-straight-evaluating-ross-perots-allegationsagainst-the-nafta .

I hope President Trump reforms NAFTA and builds a wall against drugs and the Mexican coyote business.

Beforehand, is suspected Samuelson. Today I do not trust him.

Leftist ideas do not equate to ideas of people who voted for Trump twice (David Ignatius). oregonlive.com/opinion/index.ssf/2017/06/trump_would_be_wise_to_ignore.html

Ignatius tries to promote an old saw, “When did you stop beating your wife?” as, to President Trump, “Will you fire Mueller?” The very idea comes from the desperate leftists.

I’m a TTV. It’s one thing to claim supporting President Trump. It’s another to know you voted for presidential candidate Trump on Nov 8, 2016. It’s still another to know you voted for primary candidate Trump in your state primary. I’m in the class: Two-Trump Voters. TTV voted for discovery of the-objective-truth and said it would take President Donald Trump three years to begin to understand the amorality of USA politics enough to effectively reform the country. That’s about how long it took Abraham Lincoln to understand a president needs unemotional generals in order to win a war.

The notion that President Trump could fire Muller is bait from leftists, based on their nanny-state attitudes. For example, James Comey’s apparent privation of integrity with the Obama administration before the Trump administration is expected by the likes of Ignatius.

What is sad is that all along, the Obama administration and the liberal democrat media have “bet that the country is too weak and disoriented to stand together behind its constitutional structure of law,” borrowing Ingatius’ words in this column. The TTV’s employ the preamble to the constitution for the USA.

Stop giveaways and get ready for less medical funds from the USA (Milinda Deslatte). theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/opinion/article_566a87b2-52a1-11e7-a0ff-b793d84b2c34.html

Typically for the liberal democrat media, Deslatte promotes taxing the people rather than stopping the massive giveaways in the $ 29 billion budget.

In addition to ending the extra 1 cent sales tax, the state must deal with less federal funding for medical care: It’s coming.

Also, a chunk of TOPS could be rededicated to help start the child incentives program, which should grow to $ 1 billion per year with success. Whereas TOPS is to help in college the people who excel in high school, the child incentives program helps children excel in K-12. Thus, it is an essential precursor to TOPS. See cipbr.blogspot.com/2016/09/child-incentives-brief.html for more about child incentives.

Walt Handelsman liberal democracy cartoon.  theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/opinion/article_572dac90-52ad-11e7-9175-7f149716e148.html
Count me an old, white, man.

I’d have to use MWW's wit to respond to a grandchild who got hold of my liberal hometown newspaper and asked, “Paw-Paw, what is elect-ile dysfunction?” I’d be tempted to say, “Forget it. It tries to apply no-longer-can to never-could.”

Still “black victims” (Page 3A). (michigansthumb.com/news/us/article/Black-victims-of-decades-old-discrimination-fight-11228394.php)
Associated Press writers like Ed White would keep blacks enslaved to “victimization” for their entire lives.

I want freedom-from my past so that I may acquire the liberty-to pursue the happiness that attracts me rather than the image civilization would impose on me. The USA offers the freedom-from and opportunity for the liberty-to I want. I must collaborate for the civic morality that maintains comprehensive safety and security.

Rights and dignity of a person (Page 4A). (http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/modern-family-courts-allowing-parents-child-48115081)

A naturally fertilized ovum has low chance of becoming a typical person. Within about eight days, the blastocyst may embed in the mom’s womb. The fetus may survive gestation and delivery. The newborn may acquire understanding and delight in learning. The child may take charge of personal autonomy and acquire the comprehension and the intent to live a full life.

If so, he or she may begin to build wisdom after their person completed building the wisdom parts of the brain, perhaps age 25, begin to accumulate wisdom and by perhaps age 65 know the preferences they might have exercised for life. For example, great as my parents were, I wish they had taught me open-mindedness rather than Christianity, and I did not fully know that until age 57. I’m still trying to recover.

Adult contracts that change the fate of an ovum affect the dignity and equality of the future person and his or her posterity. The judge who would involve himself or herself in managing such contracts begs judgement.

As I member of a civic culture, I do not encourage such experiments with destiny. There are enough dissidents to the-objective-truth to provide future evidence of the effects of compromising the rights and dignity of an ovum to stay with his or her heritage. There is no reason for a civic culture to promote the experiment. Let 3-parent adults create and manage their contracts in private.

Associated Press and its writers, such as Jennifer Peltz, cannot be trusted to consider the challenging side of issues like egocentric adult contracts regarding the life of a person.

Rights and dignity of a person No. 2 (Page 6A). (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_GAY_ADOPTION_ILOL-?SITE=AP&SECTION=home&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT)

It is difficult to imagine what is in store for five siblings taken from their natural home and thrust into the home of gay men with an adult contract covering the children. And what’s in store for the men?

Will one of them fall in love with one of the children, causing divorce? Alternatively, will the romantic couple and the jilted father (or was he the mother) petition the court for a 3-parent family where the romantic sibling becomes a mother or father to his or her siblings?

Associated Press and its writers, such as David Crary, cannot be trusted to consider the challenging side of issues like egocentric adult contracts regarding the lives of seven persons.

Understanding the possibilities only requires fidelity to the-objective-truth. A civic culture collaborates for comprehensive safety and security.
